  1. I am absolutely in love with the car. Driving the car is awesome....heck just sitting in it is awesome. My only complaint so far is that road noise seems to be a little higher than I would have thought.
  2. I just bought the new 2014 IS 350 F-Sport I was talked into the Luxcare package, the 3 for 1 Comprehensive vehicle protection package, and the prepaid maintenance plan, I also got the Clear Mask and the 8 year 125K warranty, but I knew I wanted those. My question is does anyone have any experience with any of these? Would you recommend them?

  4. I purchased the new IS 350 on Thursday (7/5/2013) My first weekend with it was an enjoyable one. I went from an IS 250 to this car and I am liking the new horsepower. Details of the car: Nebula Grey with Red Interior Navigation Option F-Sport Option If you have any questions let me know. I will post pics later.
  5. I went and got a slip ring set and it worked. I got everything off and am putting it all back together now. The problem I am running into is the Hub (The part that has the pulley) I cant get that back on. I went and rented a tool, an AC clutch hub installer, but I have no idea how to use it. It seems like it should have come with some sort of screw that I screw into the compressor shaft or something. Anyone know of any spots where there are good instructions on how to use this tool, or any ideas.
  6. I have been following the guide to replace the A/C Clutch. I have the plate off but I cant get the pulley (Hub or whatever it is called) off. I see the slip ring but cant get that off. What tool would I use to get this off. Is there a better guide with better photos?
  7. I am having the same problem and cant log in. Can you send me the link for a 1991 LS400
  8. Does anyone know if you need a special tool to do this?
  9. I had Lexus look at my care today. They told me the same that my clutch was not engaging. They recommended that I first try and replace the clutch and if that doesn't fix it then replace the compressor. The problem is $500 for clutch replacement and $1400 for compressor. I called the local auto parts store and can get a clutch for $120 that is rebuilt. Is this pretty easy to replace. I have already replaced the fan bracket in this car so I have done some work under the hood. Also anyone have a tutorial for the clutch replacement
  10. I just recenlty bought a 1991 LS400 with 189,000 miles. I bought it knowing the the A/C didn't work. I had a local shop look at it and they said the clutch isn't engaging on it and it is an electrical problem. They cant fix that and told me to go to the dealership. I know that will cost an arm and a leg. Is there anything I can do myself?
  11. Is the was the blinking light means is not residual pressure?
  12. One thing I have noticed is that my A/C light blinks when the car is started. I cant read any of the LCD codes beacause my LCD display is bad.
  13. I just recenlty bought a 1991 LS400 with 189,000 miles. I bought it knowing the the A/C didn't work. I was going to recharge it. I checked it out and it hadn't been converted yet. So i went about converting it and when I did the pressure check there was no pressure so I assumed that there was no R-12 in it. So I began to inject the R-134 in it when I realized I didn't have a good seal and my pressure was good, but I had already injected a small amount of R-134 in to the system. So my quesiton is this. Is it bad if there is a small amount of R-134 mixed in with the R-12? Also no that I have done that my AC light flashes. I cant read any of the codes because my LCD is blacked out. Any ideas on what the problem for the no A/c would be as well

  15. Well after much looking and I admit, getting a mechanics opinoin, the problem was located. The coil wire on the RH distributor was grounded out. Good thing they have reee estimates as I will replace the wires all at once.
  16. Ok I just replaced my Clutch Fan Bracket. Everything went back together fine. The only problem is I snapped or broke the one of the threads were the bracket screws into. The bracket itself is still solid as it has 5 other bolts holding it in place. When I put this bolt back on I forgot to put the distributor cap back over the bracket before I screwed down this bolt and drove it in to far. But the big problem I have now is that my car has no power. It runs a lot louder and rougher. I pulled the car out of the garage and it didn't sound right so I tried to pull it back in but it didn't even have enough power to make it up the small slant of my driveway. What could cause this?
