  1. I have a 2004 LX470 - owned it since new. Recently the gas pedal has been squeaking (inside the car). In addition, it feels like it is rubbing so you can't get a smooth feel when you push down on the accelerator pedal. The noise appears to be coming from one of two places under the dash just above the actual gas pedal (accelerator pedal): 1> where there is a plastic bushing rubbing inside a metal housing - as you move the accelerator, it slides up and down. 2> where there is a spring wound around a metal housing - as you move the accelerator, the spring moves back and forth around the metal housing. In either case, I have tried to use lithium grease to stop the rubbing. All it seems to do is cause more squeaking! I talked to the local dealer and they say I need to replace my entire gas pedal assembly at a cost of $570 plus installation costs. There has got to be a way to stop this problem without spending that much money. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thank You, Michael
  2. Check out the following link. The sales guy didn't tell you everything. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW
  3. I am purchasing a new LX 470 and the dealer offered to replace the factory Dunlops with new Michelin LTX tires. He said that the Michelin tires were much better than the dunlops - anyone care to comment? Thank You
  4. Does anyone have the night view option installed in their lexus or have you actually used this system? I am told by several people that the system is much more of a distraction than a help but I would like to know from someone who actually has it. Thanks
  5. Thank you for the information. I don't know if I want to "cut wires" on my new lexus - at least not just yet. If you ever find out where the chip replacement is, please let me know......
  6. Does anyone know how to override the DVD player (in the onscreen navigation system) to allow playing (onscreen) DVDs while driving? I have heard of several mechanics who work for Lexus dealerships performing the mod and they say it is easy - just have to know what wire. Anyway, if anyone know, please post it. Thanks!!!!
