I've been lurking in the forums trying to gather some info, i'm buying a 95 sc300 in january and have dough saved up for the project. i have some basic questions that i hope you can help me with. my goal is 500whp on 93 octane with the boost logic stage 2 kit and a few other goodie ive procured. my first question is, since ill be turboing the stock na engine, how involved is it to convert the intake plenum to a supra piece, i don't like the configuration of the sc's intake switching back over to the exhaust side and taking up space and being heated by exhaust/turbo heat. my second question would be, how different is the head on the sc 2jz from the gte head? will gte cams fit the ge? and are the sc cams capable of keeping up with boost or are they usually replaced. thanks for any info you have, i plan on posting alot once i get the car and start building.
  3. I"m not sure of the compatability but i have 2 cd changers for sale, a kenwood and a pioneer premier. if you find out that you can hook one up to your stock cd player then i'll give you the info
  4. thanks for the info, you're still running the stock sc engine right? i really onlly wanna make between 5-600h/p for racing somewhere around 400 for daily driving. i took a look at boost logic's site and the stage 2 kit seems to be the most bang for the buck, especially with with the metal headgasket and head studs. this seems like a great place for info thanks again.
  5. you running the turbonetics bolt on kit on the stock engine? or a 2jz swap from a supra? is there any trouble with intercooler piping?
  6. How's it going everyone, i'v been looking through the forums and you guys look like a pretty good group. Currently i won 97 accord that i'v been working on forever and finally got down to the low 13's (thanks to a engine swap and nitrous) i recently, well yesterday, decided to stop spending money on it, and after this summer i'm going to be buying a sc300. I'v done some research and its cheaper that a supra with basically the same potential that and i'v seen the vids of a sc300 catching and dusting 2 rx7s a viper and other assorted things. i just have a few basic ?s if you guys don't mind. i'v noticed that on the supra engines the intake goes straight forward toward the front and on sc 2jz's the intake crosses over to the exhaust side is that because of intercooler or is it two diff intakes? are there anything major differences between the 2 engines that would cause me to want to swap a supra engine in instead of just buying the turbonetics kit for the sc? are there any major quirks or things that break before others? Last ? is do you guys have a hard time finding c/f parts for your cars, the sc is a heavyweight luxury mobile and i'd like to drop some weight off. thanks, and i hope to be talking to you guys alot. -mike
