Hey all, I have had this problem for about 3 dealer visits ( Last 15K miles ) I have an 06 IS250. Everytime i turn on the AC, i smell this foul MOLD (for those who don't know, smells like a OLD wet Rag). I use the AC often because I live in LA area, but 99 percent of the cheaper cars don't get this smell. Does anyone else have this problem? The dealer keeps spraying (OZIUM)? but it just seems to deodorizes the smell for a couple days and it comes back. They recommend I open the vent before I leave the car and still I have the problem. Any advice/ help appreciated. I have already changed the cabin filter 3 times without any success. Albert

I have the same issues, with my Monster charger (the only one I could find that would fit in the console) You probably want a USA-SPEC or SOUNDLINQ aux ipod adaptor for your factory radio. Itll allow you to control your ipod through your factory radio and ipod and you'll get true digital sounds. Look into stuff like that. It'll also charge your ipod while its connected. Try Al & Ed's Autosound or Crutchfield.

I have a verizon treo 700w and 06 is250 w/ nav :cries: , and i cannot seem to link the phone. Anyone else have problems?

I feel like I'm bombarding this forum with questions, but I really want to know everythign before I even start touching my car. Yellow fogs, Some people love 'em and some hate 'em. I personally love them and I want to do it on my is. Should I get yellow JDM halogen bulbs? Should I Paint the fog lens cover with yellow lens paint? http://store.racinglab.com/vans-paint-yellow.html or Should I get the yellow film cover? LAMIN-X Or Should I do a combination of stuff? For those already with the yellow fogs, what looks the cleanest and bright yellow? What are your thougths and experiences?

One more thing, Fog lights bulb type is which is 9006(not 9004, written in the manual on this forum) right? Also, it says 55W, woudl it be not good to put in a 70W bulb? Not a good idea?

So basically, I want the same look, feel, and color of light as a factory Xenon's for like the LS430, Acura TL, TSX, etc... I want to stay away from purple 8000K. I want it white/white like the factory xenon hid's. What temp should i purchase? the 4300K or the 6000K? Will the 4300K look a little yellow? Or is 4300K pure white? Or should I look at something about 5000K? Will the 6000K look more blue than white? I really can't tell with the the photos too well. If these units are like 20-40 dollars, if i pick the wrong color, i woudl jsut get another one, but being 400. I would liek to purchase the exact one i want. Need some advice....

The dealers now know many Is models have a squeeking brakes so they dont even check them. They jsut tell you up front that its very common and they have nothing they can do to fix this at this point. Solution, change your brakes to an aftermarket brakes. If you want to spend some money, go with brembos. Otherwise is owners look like they have to live with squeeking brakes.

No loaners for any job that takes under 2 hours for me. I asked for them, but for an oil change alone service, they'll pick me up and drop me off within 5 miles.

( the 60 dollars was a cabin filter ) so, i have made my decision, go to a local mechanic, and wait maybe for bigger service to get it done at a dealer, maybe jsut for the record. Even if the oil changes were about 60 dollars, I would just comfortably do it at the dealer, but it just seems like prices are HIGH and they try to rip you off by adding more services. Yea, Lexus' are luxury, but that doesn't mean owners are stupid.

Hmm... If you get a Sirius tuner by Eclipse (not pioneer) I don't see why the volume output is not similar to true digital quality. But as for the Aux input in the center console, If you want true digital sound from your ipod, you have to get a ipod integration tuner. Its basically a module that goes into the back of your unit and at the other end, it is the ipod connection (the flat connection cable) so it will even charge your ipod when connected. BUT... I don't know if such a product exists for the new IS250/350 YET. But I will post as soon as i find out.

You can buy your own filters at some place like http://www.irontoad.com/ and change the A/C filter yourself and the engine air filter when needed. Take your oil filter to a local garage that does oil changes. There are lots of independents that will do this. I pay about $28 to a locally owned oil change place. Tires can't be rotated. That leaves a few other inspections which would probably be good to have Lexus do, but cost much less with you taking care of the rest of it. I have used up my first free service at the dealer, Now that I am reaching 10K miles. I call up one dealer and they tell me i need to replace a cabin filter and want to charge 99 oil change plus 60 for filter (almost 200 with taxes). I call up another and its 125 plus tax and they tell me a tire rotation. I don't believe I can get a tire rotation. Do dealers actually know what's even written in the handbook. Also, I do not want to pay any of those prices for a filter and oil change. so, this is my question... Where is the best place to get a quality oil change that I can be happy with? Jiffy Lube? (scandals) Toyota Dealer ( do they work on lexus cars?, i read this in some forum before ) Just a local Lube place? Please help.

Im at about 8700 miles on a is250. I don't drive agressive, but I believe I started hearing the hissing of the brakes from about 3-4000 miles of driving. Is this common, or should I have this checked out? I am pretty sure I still ahve lot of brake pad left. Hmm....

My 2 cents... I have my front windows tinted, but I have yet to notice until you mentioned it. Well, there will always be some reflection, but if you feel theres way too much reflection to point where it bothers you, you might want to get rid of the front window tints. It will reflect more if the interior of the car is lighter than the exterior/outside.

How many gallons of gas are on reserve after the low fuel light comes on? Is it like most other cars with 3 gallons on reserve? Also, if the RANGE is 1 mile left, will the car stop after 1 mile? Or does it go on reserve after that?

When I turn the steering wheel completely to one side, lets say to park my car, i hear this mechanical sound / feel to the car? Does anyone else notice this? Are the tires rubbing in the wheel well of the car when i turn too much? So, Im a lil afraid of turning it all the way. Hmmm....

Man, where does everyone live? I live in LA and my premium gas is 9 1 octane and its like 3.60/gallon. I have 3K miles and avg 23.7mpg on a is250. in traffic, i get about 17 mpg. in freeway, i get about 29-31 mpg going about 70-80mph.
