  1. Solar sensor is on top of dashboard on the passenger side.
  2. See page 68 in your Navigation manual to adjust your volume settings. Unfortunately, it looks like the system is designed to mute the guidance voice when in handsfree mode according to page 364 in owners manual.

  4. There is no rear diff on a two wheel drive vehicle.
  5. You're a little late. Theres been a fix since beginning of the month.
  6. I wouldn't hold my breath. Been looking at the iphone on as many sites as I can, and so far it doesn't look good. People have tried to transfer their contact list from iphone to car or from another phone to their new iphone without any luck. It seems file sharing/transfer is not available, but then again we should have guessed it wouldn't be available due to the nature of the device. It is after all an ipod plus phone. They probably don't want people transferring itune songs. Besides, it doesn't even have stereo bluetooth.
  7. A/C does not blow through your seats. If you have the ventilated seats, its just air flow. The dial on your dashboard just controls the amount of air flow. See page 243 in your pwners manual.
  8. Is that to program it only? My dealer charged me 1/2 hr labor, which came to $45 at the time. They master key was $200, though, and I was dismayed at having to pay this after shelling out so much money for the CPO vehicle that only came w/ 1 master key (and the salesman didn't mention anything of it when I bought the vehicle; I assumed it would have come w/ 2 master keys). I believe a cpo vehicle requires two keys, but not necessarily two master keys. One master and one valet key would be sufficient for a cpo vehicle.
  9. OOh, We bought our GX from Auction so i didnt know, how would i be able to find out the size? Would it be imprinted on the bulbs? Yes on the high beam and low beam bulbs, or you can look it up in your owners manual.
  10. The GX doesn"t come with HID bulbs.
  11. It depends on what you mean by diagnostic test. Is an engine light on your dashboard? If it is anyone should be able to read it as you car should conform to OBD2 standard. I know up here Autozone offers free scan for diagnostic codes, but any decent shop with a scan tool can read codes. Just remember reading codes and interpreting codes are two different things. For some stupid reason, people think one code means one answer. Codes have diagnostic trees with multiple outcomes. Thats why dealers and shops charge fees if you want a solution.
  12. Don't think procedure DI-117 is the correct one, should be DI-118 for inspecting throttle control motor. P1128 looks like it only has two outcomes of which replacing throttle control motor with magnetic clutch is one solution. The other is to check the throttle valve and make sure theres nothing caught between the valve and the housing. If there is, remove the foreign object and clean the throttle body or if there isn't, replace the throttle body. I would definately check wiring or anything else as the throttle body is a bit expensive. Sorry, can't help you with wiring though, good luck.
  13. Supposed to be done at the dealer. Its a hidden maintenance menu, but I'm sure someone will or already has gotten access into it.
  14. Are they giving you any sort of credit for them? If they do, it wouldn't be anywhere near retail though. The wheel and tire are built into the price of the car. I'm surprised that they would want to keep them. We try our best to avoid them. They're not fast movers and not worth holding on to. They would be nice to have with mounted snows on them.
  15. Just curious on what the dealer did or didn't do. The microphone can be adjusted. I believe its called the Send voice level adjustment. There are 11 levels -5 to +5, but wouldn't recommend the minimum or maximum. Another thing to check is to make sure you don't have the handsfree on mute.
  16. Unfortunately the A900 will not show caller id on the screen http://lexusbluetooth.letstalk.com/brands/.../213_05Navi.pdf
  17. Have you tried answering from the cellphone and see what happens?
  18. Its a powered seat, which means it has motors in the seats, which means different seats and different wire harness. Yes the seats are very expensive and yes it would be cheaper to trade than to retrofit, not that any dealer would even consider retrofitting
  19. What is A2DP? I just bought this KRZR phone, and haven't even opened it yet. I'm actually using it with my Prius, which I assume has the same nav as the Lexus...... ______ Later note: I think it just dawned on me what is being talked about here. Using the cell phone's uploaded music with the Lexus nav/radio. Is this right? Or was I right to begin with??? I'm easily confused! :D A2DP is a bluetooth profile that will play music from your device to a bluetooth headphone in stereo.
  20. Sorry, no A2DP in the Lexus.
  21. I don't get it. It seems like a waste of time to try and get all the presures exactly the same. What would be the point, as long as they close enough. Even if you could get them the same, what happens once you start driving the car. I'm willing to bet that over time the tires will become a little underinflated as they always have and it won't be even either.
  22. If you think thats too much, my recommendation is don't consider trading your 2005 LS430 for a LS460. The LS460 takes 9.1 qts of synthetic as recommended by Lexus.
  23. Another suggestion would be to check your vacuum switching valve thats connected to the power steering pump, but not on the pump itself. Its sometime referred to as the idle up valve.
  24. What's this $600 item? If its a 2003 LX with the tow hitch in the rear bumper cover, all you need would be the tow support attachment, ball mount, and ball. The tow support attachment and ball mount generally came with the vehicle stored in a box. If you need all three, it doesn't add up to $600, maybe half that.
  25. Don't discourage him from trying to work with the dealer in a gentlemanly manner to resolve the problem. There are plenty of hungry lawyers out there who need the work. I spoke to Lexus customer service again yesterday. Since this is a buy back sitaution she has asked me to go back to dealership and tell them that I don't want the car fixed but need a replacement. She also indicated this 'case' is with the regional office now and they speak to me through the dealership. The whole process sucks big time!!! I called the dealership and they were very polite and apologetic. But the status has not changed yet. As far as the car goes it sure works ....but do you feel safe driving a car with SRS lights blinking at you all the time...I don't think so. Of course the process sucks. Why wouldn't it be. The only people who told you go through the buyback process are the ones who probably never went through the process themselves. An automobile, particularly a hybrid, is probably the most sophisticated and complex piece of hardware a person will ever own. It doesn't seem like it because the operation has been simplied and dumbed down, that people just put gas in it and drive without realizing how an automobile operates. Your automobile encompasses everything that makes up your house if you think about it. It has miles of electrical wires, microprocessors, sensors, heating, air conditioning, hydraulics, mechanics, thermodynamics, etc. The difference is you call a specialist to fix either the plumbing, the furnace, or an electrician, but in the automotive world, a technician has to be knowledgeable in all those areas. They used to say patience is a virtue, but unfortunately in our society, that no longer has any meaning. You yourself said the dealership was working on the problem along with manufacturer. Thats what they do. Try to fix the problem. Even though it may take time, since everyone is learning and gathering data. Remember, if enough of this situation occurs, the manufacturer may go back and do an engineering or manufacturing redesign and/or put out a new TSIB so that information becomes available for everyone. Unfortunately with today's instant demand and expectation mentality, thats no longer good enough for the consumer. Please don't take it the wrong way, I'm not criticizing you or your decision. You had to make the decision that was right for you. This is more of a rant against our instant gratification mentality. It probably didn't help that your dealership didn't communicate with you as much as you would have like, but I can only go with what we did. As I mentioned we had the same problem with one of our customers. We put our lead diagnostic technician on it, and it also took some time to fix, but communication was a little better. The customer was actually in communication with the technician himself who explained what was going on with the vehicle and why and what the next steps were. Good luck.
