  1. Read post #9. Calling the board useless and thanking everyone for nothing and calling me a know nothing along with everyone else pretty much says it all. Post #7 pretty much answered your inquiry correctly. All you had to do was go your dealer and simply ask to buy the base coat for crystal white.
  2. Actually 040 is not the correct base coat, but should work. The correct base coat color is ......... You should check my previous posts and then you'll find out I actually know quite a bit more than you, but obviously you prefer to look like an idiot on this board. People come here to share knowledge and experience, ask questions, and help each other out. Now unfortunately you can get wrong answers or misinformation, but that goes hand in hand with learning. In life mistakes are usually the best teacher.

  4. You can subscribe to this site... https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfoPortal/...el=ti_home_page We don't even have manuals here in our shop. Manuals are expensive and a pain to update.
  5. to Europe :P . At least Toyota is finally stepping up and realizing theres a market out there for it. Hopefully if its successful overseas, maybe they'll consider offering to the U.S market. http://www.toyota-europe.com/own/accessories/ipod.aspx
  6. Code 21 is for solar sensor. The solar sensor is that sensor on top of dashboard toward the windshield on the passenger side. Check the sensor and/or circuitry. Code 33 for the airmix servo motor, actaully the position sensor, but its part of the motor.
  7. I'd love to see what this XM antenna looks like. All the XM antennas for Lexus, except the new LS, GS, IS, are the common type that we mount on the trunk or roof. The only glass installed antenna is the Sigma antenna that we mount to the front windshield for the Sirius install. I actually like the clean look without the sharkfin. Canada also has different accessories than the U.S., like sedan roof racks, LS mudflaps, etc.
  8. What I mean by the transducer is the antenna. The LS460's sold in the USA have a fin on the center rear of the roof. Is this the antenna for the XM radio? Yes the sharkfin antenna on the roof is used for the XM and Lexus Link. Is the XM install some sort of factory install or did the dealer install an aftermarket system? A number of things could be causing your issue. First thing the antenna should have an unobstructed view toward the southern sky. Many people have placed their antenna inside the vehicle, but thats generally not the best place. You say that it occurs when heading north. Are you traveling through an urban enviroment or rural. Urban enviroments have ground repeaters if the satellite signal is blocked. Once you leave the city you rely primarily on the satellite signal. Also how far north are you going. XM uses two stationary satellites over the equator so when you head north you're heading away from the source. Here's a rough picture of what the coverage is like... http://www.dogstarradios.com/sirasasecoma.html
  9. Not a stupid question at all actually you know what...i'm not sure, does anyone know where it is, or somewhere i could go to find out where it is ?? Check your brake pedal. There should be a small switch that depresses when you step on the brake pedal.
  10. Stupid question, but they did check the brake light switch?
  11. Not sure what this transducer you're talking about, but in the US, there is no dealer install for the XM for the LS460. Its factory installed with the Navigation system.
  12. Do they still make performance chips for cars? I remember the early '80s when a buddy of mine pop the chip from his Buick GN and plug in a new Hypertech chip, but that was in those pre OBD days. Aren't most mods done through software reprogramming these days?
  13. Looks like its for GS model from 1998 to 2000 model year.
  14. Let me see if I got right... 1. Put CDs in changer 2. Go to CD player screen 3. Push Disc button for CD text... but nothing happens? I don't own a GX, but I do have access to a 2007 GX. I may have to bring in some CDs and try it out. Only problem I have to figure out is which of my CDs have CD Text. Hopefully some of my new ones will have it.
  15. I just purchased a 2000 Lexus GS400, and it is a hard-drive based navigation system - how do update it however?? Hard drive based navigation has to be ordered and installed by dealer. Be aware that the generation 1 hard drive based systems are only current to July 2004.
  16. I'd also recommend taking a look at the Bridgestone Dueller Alenza tire. Nice solid tire.
  17. Odd, The Navigation manual I'm looking through for the 2007 GX is a little different. Page 185 has index for DVD Changer operation, see page 190 for Audio CD, CD Text. MP3/WMA is on page 193. Anyway, it says to put into the audio screen by touching the Audio button. For CD Text display, push the Disc/aux button. Thats it. Its a small section in the manual.
  18. Not sure why you can't get a straight answer, but the answer is no. There is no factory or retailer installed satellite option for the SC. Unfortunately you will need to go aftermarket.
  19. Did you read page 190 in your Navigation manual? It tells you how to display cd text. Why it doesn't do it by default is odd.
  20. Generally you can get a connector for repairs, but unfortunately Toyota/Lexus did a very, very poor job with their electrical connector listing for the earlier cars. They're very difficult to look up. You just can't type in idle speed control and expect to find a connector number. The only way to find it is by the connector housing shape. Took awhile, but I may have the information you need. Unfortunately I don't have the valve or connector to verify this information so you're going to have to take it on faith. The connector that connects to the idle speed control valve is probably grey in color and has 6 terminals, in two rows of 3. The part number for the connector is 90980-11144. The connector will not come with the wires/terminals, so you would need to order 6 of them. Part number for the wires/terminals is 82998-12440 and you would need to order 6 of them. Good luck.
  21. Firing order for 91 LS400 is : 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
  22. Flasher relay is located in the left side inside vehicle. Seems like you may have found it. Its behind the cover next to your left foot.
  23. This somebody *HAS* read the manual and I still cannot get it to work! I have deleted all previous phones from the IS-350 and yes, the Auto Connect is on. As for my $200 phone, it was the first thing I suspected so I tried it against a Bluetooth Headset and a friends Iphone. In both cases after registering the device it would auto connect after disconnect. Thanks for the comments, I guess. I'll ask the service guys the next time I take it in for service. Sorry for rant, wasn't directed toward you. As you may guess, I work at a dealership and its amazing how many people we get here who don't read the manual or try to figure out some the most simplistic issues. Back to you phone issue, using your bluetooth headset may not be the best way to figure out why your phone is not connecting. Headset uses the HSP (headset) profile. Connecting to the car is a seperate bluetooth profile. Your car will use HFP (handsfree) for pairing and OPP (object push) for phonebook. You should try the phone in another car.
  24. Not sure if this is the answer you're looking for, but there is an AUX input jack in the center console.
  25. Once a phone is registered, it doesn't ask for the password again. Auto connect is automatically is turned on when the phone is registered. Touching the autoconnect each time on the screen turns it off and on. In other words, don't touch the autoconnect when you register the phone. Should of read the manual instead of blaming the car. I see this everyday. No one reads the manual, reads the forums, check the manufacturer websites, etc. Blame the $40k car, not the $200 phone. Thank you for my little rant.
