  1. I have seen a number of posts for this question, but have not seen anyone post pictures of how to fix it. I spent many years with no running board lights because I did not understand how to fix this problem. The quotes from dealers are ridiculous. Most do not know how to fix it. The strips are lit by one bulb in a housing at each end of the running board (right next to each wheel). So there are four bulbs in total. You do not need to remove the running board to replace the bulb. I ordered Bulbrite 715210 - 10 Watt - T3 bulbs from 1000bulbs.com to replace each bulb. I had to order 10. I have read that the #891replacement automotive bulbs will also work but I have not tested. Remove the bolt (in the front of the running board) and clip (in the back) and pull the top eadg of the running board out (it will flex). You will see a black housing for the bulb. Turn the housing to release the wired end. It may be hard to turn. It has fins to help get a grip on it. You may end up breaking the fins. Once the housing is open, remove the bulb and replace it. I removed the o seal, cleaned it and put some Vasoline on it for a better seal before I closed it up. The Bulbrite bulb is bigger than the opening in the reflector, so you will have to put the reflector on first then plug in the new bulb. Here is the front of the running board. Here is the back of the running board: Here is the bulb housing after removing the cap: Here is the housing with just the bulb: Here is the bulb: Here is the reflector:
  2. I had the same problem. I tried a replacement speaker and the sound was not acceptable. I ended up getting the Mark Levinson speaker repaired at speakerworks.com. Cheaper and original sound. I will get my door speakers repaired when the foam fails on them in the future.
  3. You do not need to remove the seat to remove the Nav unit. You move the seat all the way to the front and have complete access (after removing the plastic cover). Removal only takes 10 min.
  4. My nav computer failed the other day. I have tried eveything to save it. I removed it, took it apart, cleaned the lens with no result. I have contacted Lexus and they want $1800 for a remanufactured replacment. They want over $3000 for a new one. I think that this is insulting. There are good nav units on the market for a fraction of the price. I know it does not cost Denso (the nav maker) this much to repair a bad unit. Toyota should pressure Denso to repair these at a lower cost. Does anyone know a source for a replacement unit at a lower cost? (Yes I have already checked Ebay.)
  5. I tapped the power lead to the 12v power in the center console. It is inside the storage area behinde the DVD changer.
  6. I had the same problem. i have been able to remove most of the antiglare coating by cleaning the screen with a paper towel. It seems that once it starts to come off in some areas you can remove the rest of it with persistant scrubbing. I think that the references to "cleaning" the screen with alcohol and a cotton swab are actually people removing this coating.
