Does anyone have a pdf or whatever format of the owner's manual for the Lexus RX330 owner's manual? I am told somewhere in the manual there is a statement for no use of a CD-R for this car.. My radio is jammed and Lexus does not want to fix this under warranty Please Help

I have a 2004 RX330 under warranty, with premium Mark Levinson Sound System with 6-indash CD player. Since the car was purchased I have played numerous CD's purchased and burned. Last week I have been getting ERROR6 messages and unable to eject. Some CD's I have ejected after a power cycle. but there is at least one in slot 6 that is stuck. I took it to Arlington Lexus of Palatine IL. I have been told that there is a note in the owners manual to avoid using CD-R in the changer. HOW IS THIS possible in a 45K+ vehicle with such an expensive sound system option??????? I have not seen the message myself, I don't have the manual at hand. Does any one have a soft copy please?? [1] they remove the radio, send it out , the manufacturer finds the CD-R stuck and fixes it. I may be liable for Aprox $700 of the repair + removal and re-mount of the radio [2] they remove the radio, send it out the manufaturer finds the CD-R. and communicate they will charge me. I can say don't repair it. Still the dealer will charge 2-3 hrs labor for taking the radio out/in [3] Best case scenario they are responsible enough to admit the radio is really broken and they fix it under warranty. however having the CD-R stuck in the radio makes this the less likely scenario.... What do I do. This is a car under warranty and I really refuse to spend a grand for a radio that should play any cd. HELP PLEASE

I agree wait for the oportunity under 30K may just not be possible unless you go to FWD. but 32K with 25K to 30K miles may be I just bought one for 34K with 12K miles though so it was worth the extra cash. Navigation and levisnton are sweet options to have if you are planning to make this investment for a long time as we did it may just be worth to pay a little extra than to deal with aftermarked equipment etc.

I actually would be interested in listening to this "quality". I am affraid I don't have an answer for your problem but I can help you diagnose it. Hands free audio quality is highly subjective opinion that may be missinterpreted. Carrying on a hands free conversation is expected to be less clear than a normal call. It also may depend on the quality of the hands free algorithm that Lexus is using. If you are interested, I would actually have to set up an appointment to be at my lab with a calling station where I can record and analyze when you are in the car an are able to use the system in stationary and road conditions.

Is there a way to update the NAV SW (firmware) itself for an 4 RX330? can the dealer do this as part of Maintenance? How do I find out what generation is my NAV? Also I searched the forums but I never found anyone that has paid less than $280 for the map DVD, any ideas?

I am looking for a wiring diagram for an RX330 with Navigation and Mark Levinson sound. I am going to be installing a Bluetooth handsfree unit and I want to tap in the correct audio and mute lines. Any out there with an RX330 service manual can also tell me how to remove the NAV and radio?

I would say take it back to the dealer and get the sound system replaced. You paid top money for a premium car. Crackling noise is not expected of such a system. As a BMW automotive audio engineer and a Lexus owner myself I can tell you that there is a great deal of development in these systems to avoid grounding issues. In fact these would sound more like static or alternator whine. If you are out of warranty then you are SOL unfortunately. Did this develop recently, has it always had it do you have all original audio equipment components or did you add any aftermarket. Crackling is different than distortion. If you can get a laptop in that car and try to get a recording of the noise you are talking about. Crackling noises may be expected if you have a weak bluetooth signal during a hands free call if you have the BT kit but not in high fidelity audio
