I’ve tested it out a few times. It seems like the car will give you the freedom to rev out the gears before you shift but once you shift, the shifts feel laggy. Its not an instant response unlike the BMW SMG gear box which gives you total control with 5 different sport modes and the trans reacts precise with no sign of lag. Its not something i will be using often but when I feel the need to take a spirited drive, I will be sure to use it as it does give you a pretty good sense of control.

Congrats on the new car!! Got mine 2 months ago, and love it. As for the TL and IS250, like I said above I got mine a short time ago and my girlfriend got a TL about 4 months go. The TL has some serious pick up the trans shifts are smooth and accurate, the IS I feel doesn’t have the same throttle response as the TL; the trans feels like it has a slight lag between gears. I mean there is a difference of about 60-70 HP (the TL having more). The IS has a very refined interior, the leather is smooth and soft, the TL has that harder style leather and the interior doesn’t seem as elegant. The TL defiantly has more room on the interior then the IS. The base TL comes with HID's, Drivers memory seat, and XM. The Base IS AWD doesn’t have the HID's, memory drivers seat or XM. But the IS has air-cooled seats, No KEY which is cool and the biggie AWD. Her cars sticker was 33,XXX and mine was 35,XXX so there is a difference in price. If you start adding HID's and Nav, and XM to the IS the price goes up quite a bit where as the TLs only real option is NAV which still only tops out at around 35K. (Not talking A-Spec TL) As for Acura service, they have always done good by me, never had a problem with them at all. (I also had an Acura before the IS250). All in all you can’t really go wrong with either car, there both 2 of the most reliable brands in the world, and both have one of the highest resale values (Toyota and Honda). You should be able to get the better deal on the TL though; we got a crazy deal on my girls. Good luck with what ever you decide to go with, they are both a good choice in my opinion. :D

It didn't come with wheels? Of course it came with wheels, im looking to go aftermarket. :D

I’m looking to put wheels on my 250, was wondering up to what size can fit (i.e. 18, 19's) the bolt pattern is 5X114.3 right? What offset is needed to go with a bigger wheel I’m thinking 19's. Does anyone have wheels on there’s already? Post pictures if you got um. Thanks for the help. Vito.

My salesman's title is "Mater" not his assistant. I asked the kid and he said that hes Bruce's direct personal assistant.

I went to pickup my plates the other day and was greeted by my sales guy we BS'ed a few seconds and he then proceeded to get the plates. The next thing I know a kid walks up to me and introduces himself as Bruce's (my slaesguy) assistant. So I take him outside to my car and as he’s putting my plates on I ask him what he does. He is a personal assistant to my sales guy, does all the leg work for Bruce. Now I’ve bought some new cars in my time (Infiniti I35, 350Z, Acura RSX) all brand new and have never met a sales person with an assistant. Is this common? BTW, the title on his business card reads “Master Certified Sales Consultant”. :D

The glass guy just got done, I’m happy with the turnout. He basically took the entire bull’s-eye part away and the spider legs, you have to really look for to see. All and all not a bad job, it will hold me over until I can stomach the $900+ price tag to fix it :)

The only plus about this, is where it hit. It is (as your looking out the windshield) to the lower left right off the corner of the inspection sticker. So its not in the direct line of view, which is good. The company that fixes the cracks is coming today to my office to fix it. Ill see how it comes out, if its still very visible I will most likely have it replaced soon.

I have the same ticking in my 250, noticed it to other day when i was at the Mc D's drive thru but its not annoying loud so its cool.

Thanks for the help. I hope they can make it go away as much as possible, but we will see tomorrow. They are comming to my job to make the repair. *fingers-crossed*

Just got off the phone with the Lexus dealer. They want $992 to replace it. Guess im getting it fixed from insurance for free

So you know how i feel then :) When they fix it, is it still noticable? Thanks for the help

My IS250 is not even 2 weeks old yet, and on my drive to work this morning a rock came out of nowhere and put 2-dime size spider cracks in the windshield. Needless to say I was beyond upset. I called my Ins company and they will fix (I guess fill or what ever they do) the damage for free but if I want a new windshield I’m going to have to pay my deductible of $500.00. What should I do?? Let them fix it and see what happens or just replace it?? Anyone have experience with this before? Thanks for the help :(

As far as the package goes, it wont let you de-select it online but when you go to the dealer you can get a 250AWD with out the package, no HID's, etc. Sticker is just like on the site 34,2xx.xx + your 590 for delivery, processing & Handling, + 200-300 extra for mats, trunk net, and something else. for a total of about 35000. For your 2nd question, I owned a 350Z and live in NJ. Needless to say that RWD and snow just do not mix, that’s why I had it only 11 months. I couldn’t take another winter with it so I traded it in. You can do things like winter/snow tires etc. but how effective that will be, not sure. Good luck with the purchase, its an awesome car, had it for almost 2 weeks now and love it.

I spoke with a friend at Lexus and the Sirius plug in for the IS should be available in June. I have the Plug n Play unit i took out of my acura but would rather have something more factory looking (if the price is right). I’m dieing here, cant wait to get my Sirius back. I’m a Sirius person, had it in my Acura for 6 months and loved it. My girl has XM in her new TL, its ok but no Sirius :)

Like Morph said, wait for the survey and kill them on it. Make sure you mention names and exactly what took place. He forgets that even though your kind of stuck with this deal with them you still get the last laugh with the survey. Lexus/Toyota take them VERY serious.

Read mine a few posts up. I was staring side by side at the Blue Onyx (which I bought) and the White, and for some reason the Blue Onyx just seemed like more there, more substance, more aggressive... The white looks hot as hell too, but more of a pure look, less aggressive. So call me Insane :D

So all it is is a 2 sided headphone jack cable? I have a Treo 650 with all my MP3's on it so all i would need is that cable to be able to listen through the car? Thanks

I got the Blue Onyx Pearl with Black Leather. My girlfriend and I sat there staring at the Blue Onyx and Granite Mica for about 45 minutes. We decided on the Blue onyx because the color looked like it gave the car a more aggressive look. Just looked like the car had more substance, a little weird to explain. LoL Just fell in love with it.

Just a 250 last night and am loving it. :) I have a Sirius receiver from my previous car but would rather not hardwire and mount the receiver to the windshield like my last car. Lexus does make a piece that can plug into the stock radio so that I can listen to Sirius??? That would be great any info would be greatly appreciated

Hello everyone, just picked up my IS250 last night, and damn am i loving it :) I didnt want to come to work this morning just so i could drive it. I wanted the AWD for the Jersey snowy days so i got the 250. Looked at every car in the price range (TSX, TL, CTS, 3 Series, etc.) but fell in love with the lexus. Its my first one so im very excited.
