  1. I have a 2000 Lexus RX 300 with over 200k milage on it and I was just told by a Lexus dealership that both of the Transmission Cooler Lines are rusted. Is this typical for a vehicle that old? I live around the Boston area and with all the salt on the ground during the winter months, I figured that this must be something caused by that. Anyway - I'm trying to get an idea of what this will cost. The dealership quoted me over $425.00, is that about right? I was thinking of just going to my local garage guy down the street. - Jeff Boston, MA
  2. Did u ever get this fixed and how much did it cost? I was at a Lexus dealership earlier this week and they quoted me over $400 to replace 2 of the cooler lines. Not sure if that is all the lines the vehicle has, that's just what they pointed out since they are rusted.
  3. I have a '92 SC300 and I just came across a small issue (but an issue none the less) regarding the driver's side door. It seems to lagging in the downward location ever so slightly. Because when I close the door from the inside or out, the latch on the door itself is hitting where it should be closing to the small "u-shaped" bar that is actually on the right-side body of the door closing - if that makes sense. I'm assuming there just needs to be an adjustment to the bolts. Probably loosening them up, setting the door up a little and then tightening the bolts. has anyone ever did this? Is it a two person job? Can a jack be used to lift the door up ever so easily to then adjust the setting? Thanks! JCabral - Winchester, MA
  4. Joe: Did u have any water or condensation in either headlight fixture? I have a '92 SC300 and this condensation is driving me crazy. But I like your suggestion to clean out the foggyness - I have that as well. JC
  5. You are lucky. We are also 2nd owners. My wife and I own an RX300 '00 and during a routine oil chg it was brought to our attention that the rear main seal was leaking. A whopping $1800+ to fix. I called the customer service center at Lexus in CA, and I'm still waiting to hear back. We were both in shock and very disappointed when the service person told us about the seal. What kind of reliability trait is that, especially if @ 70k it would have fell under the warranty. Regards, JCMC
