  1. If I have to wear or act a way that I am not to get respect or cooperation from someone... then I do not need respect or cooperation from that person.... I'm just a simple country boy from Oklahoma... I love my jeans... but I love my cago shorts and flip flops even more.... Yes I wear a suite to a clients office.... a meeting... or somewhere that its required.... But buying a car... be it a Lexus, Nissan or Ford... does not require it... My thoughts are.... when I am spending money.... I can wear what ever I feel like wearing....... When I'm trying to sell my services to someone.... then I need to dress for success.... << See I even drink Bud Light... not Grey Goose with a Olive... ;)
  2. WOW... I went to Lexus of Northboro a few weeks ago... they didnt have a IS in stock... but I got the same crap about special orders... I was talking to a "Gus Deeb".. He was standing up the whole time looking around like I was second class and just wasting his time... He even told me that a speical order would cost more then MSRP... that Lexus frowns upon dealers doing a special order.... I then called Balise in Springfield... and just by calling... they said they could get me one and would take $2000 off without even asking... I called Gus back... and I told him what they would do being Northboro is 45mins closer hoping they would match it... he said "That sounds like a great deal and you should order it from them"... I was dumb founded.... Overall... from Houston to Mass.... my first lexus experience has been a 5 from a scale of 1-100... I have not seen the IS350 yet... but I just love the car so much... If I was shopping around for a new car... and I didn’t really have a favorite.... Lexus would be at the bottom of the list when it comes to my experience so far..... As far as venting.... I'm with you.... even the dealership I am working with now... I've called once a day for the past 3 days asking for a update in finding a car and checking on the GS300... I have yet had a call back yet.... I'm laid back... but it would seem 2 me.. that when your forking down $42k-$50k on a car.... a return phone call should be that much 2 ask........ I still love the IS350... on paper anyway....
  3. :cries: congrads.... :cries: I ordered one last week also... but its looking more and more like June.... One thing that I have noticed about dealing with Lexus Dealers... they do not care for your business it seems like... its like they know there are 100 more just like me... so they will not bend over 2 help you out... I have had a call in to my Sales rep since Saturday... and I just call once a day... always get her voice mail... but I guess she is 2 busy selling cars.... Guess I need to start being more aggressive....
  4. I put a deposit down on a IS350 last week.. I was hoping to get the one I wanted before May.. but it seems like its going to be June… The one I am wanting MSRP at $44.5.. but I am getting $2k off that… I noticed that Lexus is running some lease / financing specials on the GS… So I was thinking maybe I could get a GS AWD with the Nav/ML for around $46k-$48k.. I know it’s a different car and a lot less power… but right now it seems its just a better value plus I think I could get one A LOT FASTER….. I never seen a IS350 in person… nor the GS… So any help from someone that has had the chance to try both would be appreciated Is the GS430 worth the extra $$$?… Thanks for your help..
  5. Last week… after calling and calling around…. I was able to find a dealer that seems like they care to have you as a customer… I even told them what I was looking for… and they told me the MSRP… and “Of course we will take $2000 off of that”… this is all over the phone… without me even asking… so I was like.. SOLD…. Put my deposit.. etc… etc…. Anyway… They called me today.. telling me they had almost the car I was looking for… and its on the march boat.. and it will be here at the end of the month… almost being… sterling interior instead of black… :( I have never seen a IS 350 or even a 250 in person… I just saw it last year on the net… and knew that’s the car I wanted… yes I looked at the 330s but I love the Lexus interior… and “pure driving”…? I’m a computer geek…. Not race car driver… so give me the 350… plus the fact that it seems like the BMWs are a dime a dozen… so it seems… ANYWAY…. So the whole point of this topic is…. They told me since I wanted the black interior… and they can not find one anywhere…. My only chance is special order… and that is 90-120 days…. So now its looking like june or july….. my questions is…. If the 2007 are out in August…. And I have already waited 6 months…… if the 2007s are coming out in aug or sept… why not just wait a few more months??? Yes… after the phone call today…. I was bumming pretty hard…. Still am…. So… any word on the 2007?
  6. You should have emailed GM. The Tahoe comes out in Hybrid next. steviej :) The day the world starts listening to me... We will all be in BIG TROUBLE....
  7. Why are they a joke? The price differential between the IS250 and IS350 is pretty similar to the price differential between the RX330 and RX400h. The RX400h gives a fair bit more power (45 horsepower) than the RX330 - isn't that worth something? Plus you get the added benefit of much better mileage in the city. Sure your paying more, but you're getting more power + better mileage + lower emmissions. And in many places you get a tax credit from your government - in Ontario we get $1000 back from the government. Well.. IMHO I think Auto Makers are spending 2 much resources on this new “Hype”.. Yes it’s better then straight gas engines when your driving around town… BUT… does it help when your not in town?? Also.. what happens in 10 years? You now have two engines instead of one.. I’m huge fan of Diesel engines… They are built like a tank… they provide great fuel economy in all conditions… and when you add Biodiesel to the mix… it’s a win/win for everyone.. its something that is available NOW… Nearly EVERY car that we can get in North America has a Diesel option that you can get over seas…. BMWs, MB, Nissan, Toyota… you name it… its available NOW… As for the tax credits… Your not getting it from your government… your getting it from your fellow countryman.. Yes your neighbors are helping pay for the premiums of Hybrids… Don’t get me wrong… Hybrids are better then nothing… but don’t put them on SUVs… keep converting over the Civics, Mazda 3s and Altimas into Hybrids… cars that people can use for city life….
  8. Go here http://www.youtube.com/ and type in IS220D... There is a very nice review of it... Another note.... I wish Nissan and Toyota would sell diesel trucks here in the US... Like the New Pathfinder they have in Diesel... Hybrids are a joke IMHO... Only if you drive around in the city do they provide any value....

I have know clue how to read a Dyno Chart... but.. looking at it.. it has HP on the left side... so I am assuming that is the HP right? But.. I thought the IS350 has 306 HP and that just shows 252 maybe... What am I missing?

  12. No it's not always like that and no it doesn't cost any more to make a "special order." Sounds like your dealers don't want to cooperate. I know of several people who have got the Nav/ML on their 350's. They are scarce and are really selling well, but it's not impossible. I would suggest checking with some other dealers in the Northeast till you find one that's willing to order a car for you. Get on some waiting lists. Sometimes a car that was ordered gets turned down and goes to the next guy on the list. Be dilligent and be patient. Thanks for the reply... The dealers I have talked 2 seem to care less.. One Dealer had a 350 on the lot but didnt know if it had the Nav/ML package... She was going to go and look and call me back... still waiting for the call... one dealer said he would look around for one... and let me know... that was last Thursday.... I emailed him Saturday... still haven't heard a word from him... I'll call him tomorrow. and see whats the story... but I guess the whole thing is... I was always under the impression that Lexus Customer Service was second to none.. so I sort of had the notion that my local dealer would take me under his/her arms and find the car I am willing to spend $42k+ on before I even test drive it or see what the color really looks like besides on paper.... Then again... It could have just been a streak of bad luck working the phones... I'll try again tomorrow. Again thanks for your reply..
  13. I’m trying to buy a IS 350 with the Nav/Mark Levinson Package… I would like the Tungsten Pearl with Black Interior… BUT.. The Dealer in Houston Texas and a couple of dealers around Boston have both told me that they have ZERO 350s with the Mark Levinson package in there allocation for the next couple of months… The Houston dealer told me he has not seen one with the Levinson package yet.. Do they make them!???? The Boston Dealer also told me that if I had to special order one.. it would run $4k-$6k more!??? Why would it cost more? Its just a matter of them filling out some paper work and look good on there sales sheet.. right? or am I wrong? This is my first Lexus… Is it always like this?
