  1. if you think high octane gas increases your power on a factory tuned car, then i've got some C16 i'll sell you for the low low price of $12/gallon. it's 160 octane so according to you that should be good for about another 80hp or so? im willing to bet that cleaning all the crap from and regapping your spark plugs caused the increase in power you're feeling more than the bull*BLEEP* that is sidegappping. don't believe me? put up the money to dyno your car and realize that you're STILL making stock HP or more likely lower. also, learn to type, your spelling spelling and grammar are atrocious.
  2. hahah, this guy is a longtime ClubLexus and VIPStyleCars member. this is an OOOLD video, and the car has since been turbocharged. yes, that's right, the car is now a full 1-off turbocharged LS430T.
  3. should work relatively well, won't attract dirt and dust like a petroleum based lubricant.
  4. that pdf is wrong. will bet you $50 that if you go out to a 1uz from a 95MY+ car and pop it open and do some measurements, you will find it is indeed an interference engine. lexus changed the 1uz heads/pistons/rods for '95 ONLY FOR THE LS400. the changes didnt trickle down to the SC400 for a YEAR. i REPEAT, 1995-1997 LS400s have INTEREFERENCE 1uz motors. i'm tired of hearing the same bull*BLEEP* gates argument, many a motor has been lost to their idiocy. unless anyone can show me a genuine TOYOTA/LEXUS spec sheet stating that 95-97 LS' aren't interference, i'll stick by this stand. that PDF is not from Lexus. Lexus wouldn't refer to a mystical "3rd party" manufacturer, and neither would they try to screw consumers out of a little extra money by making the Timing belt due at 60k miles for the UZ series motors instead of the 90k miles they actually are. i'm getting tired of the people who find that goddamned Gates info and start throwing up a storm about how they have proof that the 95-97 cars aren't interference. as if it hasnt been seen and lol'd at by half the people on this forum.
  5. Yeah, that's right, i'm selling my beloved L-Sportline suspension setup. this is NOT, i repeat NOT a mix and match of eibach springs and standard bilstein coilovers. Will include four custom valved, 4perch (vs. normal 2 perch) Bilstein shocks, and custom progressive spring rate Eibach springs (all made for L-Sportline when they were around). I can assemble these for you if you send me your top mounts so you can just bolt them in, otherwise will come without them, unless someone wants to pay me for a new set. this service will be provided at no charge. This setup will basically get you as low as Tein CST imho, though rides more aggressively. Great for roadtrips as well as the occasional canyon run if you so wish. a GREAT alternative for someone who wants to get low without the mushy factory ride of the Tanabe springs or KYB shocks, and very likely the lowest you can get without coilovers or cut springs. these have in total ~20-25k miles on them. quoted for a friend who got it from L-Sportline's now dead website. Included: -4x Bilstein L-Sportline spec shocks, with perch rings and 4 alum. perches -4x L-Sportline spec'd Eibach springs, custom spring rate. -shock nuts. -Original L-Sportline box (still have it!) **if you choose to have me assemble you will need to send me your top mounts and bumpstops** Price is $450, buyer pays all shipping and paypal fees. keep in mind these are a little on the heavy side so shipping will be at least 50usd. just to emulate this setup today, using normal Bilstein HD shocks and a set of H&R (the Eibachs go for ~150-200 USED, they are discontinued) is ~$650-700 and you have LESS adjustability. Coilover list starting around $950 for megans so this is the cheapest way to get low without going ghetto and hacking up your OEM springs. Located in socal, diamond bar/walnut area. if local cash is preferred. Pics coming this weekend. If needed, i'm sure a few members on this forum would be willing to vouch for me, or over on ClubLexus where i'm much more active. :)
  6. if you're tryiing to firm up the ride a set of bilsteins goes a long way :P
  7. That's what I had been doing since the last message. I drove around the empty streets and made sharp turns with and w/o VSC. So far, I cannot reproduce the problem. The road surface has partially dried up since the last shower. The rear wheel alignment is a bit off as I can see from the wear on the edges. Can the combination of wet surface and bad alignment trigger the VSC? I wasn't driving aggressively when it first happened, especially in the left turn the 2nd time. Just wonder if anyone has any similar experience. I was driving the car in snowy and wet condition just 2 months ago and nothing like this happened. It was a good shock in both times. vsc will trigger when it senses that one of the wheels is not spinning at the same speed (within a percent error) of the rest. bad alignment, possibly bad/dead shocks, old tires, and especially wet conditions can all by themselves cause you to lose traction. you said you felt the car "swaying", i would get the suspension looked into. the VSC is much smarter than the TRAC system of previous LS' and doesnt misbehave nearly as often. oh, and '98-00 LS400s had VSC as standard, it was NOT an option.
  8. sounds like you either jammed the throttle cable or misadjusted the idle/tps.
  9. keep us posted. slots don't decrease the strength of the rotor NEARLY as much as holes do.
  10. mint condition 96 chromies with BRAND NEW yokohama tires. $200
  11. it's wider from factory but on top of that SKP has pulled fenders.
  12. no idea, just tell the seller you need rings with the inside bore for your LS400 and the outside bore the same diameter as a G35/350z
  13. you will need the proper set of hubcentric centering rings since Nissan/Infiniti use a larger bore than toylex's ~60.1mm
  14. car-part.com ;) when you search put it in as "Computer (non engine)" should be $50-250 tops. always call the junkyard and confirm the part number.
  15. c'mon jcrome, he said '93 LS, that means 1st gen :P OP, yes, 2001 GS wheels will fit on your 1993 LS400.
  16. all 95-00 LS400 and all 01-07 LS430 wheels are interchangeable among those model years. Thank you much Puredrifter. Just wanted to be sure. Should have taken the car in for a service inspection before buying it. Two struts are bad and have oil coming out of valve covers and pan. I understand struts cost upward of 1,100.00 each to replace, is that what the going rate is? Any suggestions? that is only true for the air suspension equipped cars. you can convert to a conventional spring/shock setup for under 600-800.
  17. all 95-00 LS400 and all 01-07 LS430 wheels are interchangeable among those model years.
  18. I retract my previous statement, 3H8 was only available on 89-92 MY cars, and was only offered in 2tone. this must be an aftermarket job that uses a shade very similar to the factory paint of earlier cars.
  19. actually guys that's a factory paintjob that's been kept up beautifully. normally red is a color that doesn't stand the test of time but this one seems to be in immaculate shape. color is Burgundy Pearl (3H8) you guys are thinking of the darker Dark Walnut Pearl (4K8)
  20. just wanted to point out that the $60-80/rotor you spent on some no-name brand that probably requires a turn when NEW because the tolerances are rather low could have gotten you some Brembo OEM replacement rotors which iirc run ~$60-65/each and are true to spec every time on ever car i've ever used them on.
  21. i'm prolly pretty high. EDIT: Member No.: 23,365
  22. this is nothing, if you start the run while holding your iPod Touch or iPhone and just wildly flail your arms in the air, you'll be looking at sub 3 second 0-60 times and quarters under 8 seconds.... i don't trust these at all, too many variables. fun to mess around with but never taken seriously. get your car on a track and see if it'll run 14s :P
