Definitely your amp i have had this problem well over a year and just got fixed, if you have radio shop check your amp output i guarantee it is shot, that spark when it kicked back on does scare the *BLEEP* out of you....Mine was mark Levinson with navigation, dealers want 550-900(depending on dealer, sewell was best priced) for new one and then trade in of your old one. Lexus then sends to a company who i called to remanufacture they will only deal with lexus and not repair for you....Get the part number off amp and look on ebay for tested one i just got lucky and got one however i know on the 2001's there was a recall so now i run the chance of having this one go to if it hasn't been remanufactured to fix the glich the originals had. what is your p/n? you can call lexus with you Vin number and they will tell you if there is another compatible p/n along with the amp you already have so then you may have two different amp part numbers you can search for on ebay.....They got u by the balls either way, i paid 319.00 on ebay for the used one tested and guaranteed........Only other option is to get aftermark and then they have to rewire and deal with all sorts of problems and its expensive........I can't tell you how many times i would come out in the morning and my car was dead cuz i didn't unplug my amp and in the middle of the night it kicked on and drained the battery dead...... From what you describe it is the amp. Thanks. It is frustrating that I ask this to the dealer and they say it could be either thing, I need to bring it in for them to look at. I know they are instructed to do this as it is easier to make a sale on this or anything else with me there, but from your reply it seems a bit more black and white. I appreciate it. Your welcome

I just had the same question this week and went to discount tire and there computer says thats 255 MAY require front fender modification, these were gonna be on 20" though...........

I have a 2001 LExus GS300 with Factory Mark Levisnon Amplifier P/N 86280-0w030... It is shot and i assume causing all my audio issues....I am looking for this part number amp or can someone also list which other Amplifiers p/n's are compatible to just plug and play without having to rewire...... I saw a 86280-0w032 for sale off a gs 2004, does anyone know if that would work? Can someone tell me if the the Mark Levinson amp from an 2004 ES330 p/n 86280-0w100 would work on my LExus 2001 GS300 Mark Levinson system, current amp p/n is 86280-0w030..Mine is toast and need to replace????Thanks for any help

FIrst of let me say thank you for all the useful info i have found on here over the last few years... I have a 2001 GS300 with Stock stereo and navigation...My audio amplifier and navigation unit mounted in back of trunk..One or both of them continue to run sometimes when i shut the car off thus if the car sits too long it drains the battery..It sounds like the navigation disc is continuing to spin continuing to spin, sometimes i can hear it when i walk by and just unplug manually...THe amplifier is usually very hot so im not sure if that continuing to work as well, Sometimes it won't be spinning when i shut the car off but then may come in the garage a few hours later and it is, or i go to start my car in the morning and its dead....Also the radio sometimes works and sometimes doesn't and by this i mean just the sound, the navigation screen and aduon controls are just fine, but i will be driving and the radio maybe out for a day or two and then sometimes you just hear a loud spark that scares the *BLEEP* out of you and the radio kicks back on Also my 6 cd changer in glove compartment has been jammed and won't eject and when i hit CD button the screen says "external cd system is not connected" I have been told maybe a faulty ECU/Head Unit to bad wiring...any feedback would be appreciated I did not want to bring to dealer so if anyone knows a good car aduio hookup in vegas please let me know

I signed up a long time ok but never posted but this made me because its so irritating and I have a 2001 Lexus GS300 and have the same problem, i get your problem its like there an acorn or something in there rolling...It only happens when taking off from a stop so it really sounds like something is just rolling towards you through the dash.....
