  1. I have purchased it at " murrays auto parts " . thats about the only place I have seen it
  2. Hi , I bought my 99 back in 02 with 42k for 15,200.00 .... abd guess what I found out about it . The block had been replaced already because of sludge build which was caused by the last owner who really didn`t change the oil on time ( I think ) . It had its original two tone paint but I had the lower panels & bumpers painted black to match and with the tint its all black . All I ever had to do was do the maint. . At 75k I had the timing belt replaced . Oh yeah , those dam air/fuel sensors too ( $$$$$ )
  3. Mine was due to a wiring harness that had corroded. It still goes on sometimes and I just jiggle the harness near where the CD changer goes and it goes off...until next time. Seems to happen when it comes in contact with something in the trunk. rosie This sounds alot like you are having a brake lamp switch problem located on the brake pedal . Reason why I say is because you state it goes on either after or before braking . Either way its when you hit the pedal. May want to inspect that also .
  4. Hey thanks for the responce & the idea . Real late I know but your right I may get tired of the wire hanging down the radio . Its not long so it looks ok right now . what I have come across these days since I installed it was. My radio will spit out the cassette adapter every now n then . It getting annoying . Other than that its perfect. I enjoy listening to the stations . Any suggestions ?? Did you buy the fm transmitter for yours or did you hear it from others ???
  5. Whats up America :) this past weekend I had the chance to install my xm radio ( roady 2 ) into my car . It took some hours of sweat to complete . I received it as a xmas gift and i`m barely getting around to it now . I think its pretty good . It comes with a bracket that hooks up to the center 2 vents perfect . even looks good sitting right in the middle above the factory radio . hooking up the antenna took some thought . I wasn`t about to drill any holes in my car . So I placed it in the center of the trunk , close top the back glass . ran the wire inside the trunk and just run through here & there , hiding the wires at the same time . I lead the wire all the way to the front of the cabin . I had to take out the radio & hvac. control unit . I also had to think of a way to run the power . I wasn`t going to have this big lighter connector showing like that . In my arm rest is another 12 volt adapter . I connected it in there . ran the wire under the shifter to where the radio would be ( hiding the wire ) at . since the connectors to the xm radio are all small . I was able to push the connectors out the vents and connecting them to the xm radio stand ( hideing the wires ) . after I put the radio back . connected the xm radio to the stand and called to subcribe . it was turned on within 15 minutes . the only bad thing is that my XM kit came with a cassette adapter ( not a big fan of that ) . So I have to slide in the tape and that would be the only wire showing . Would be from the adapter :( but its not that bad . Any questions , suggestions , comments , request to see pictures ( don`t have none @ the moment ) Ideas I would appreciate . Also working on hooking up 1 10" woofer in the trunk now .
  6. Hey thanks for the advise . Yeah I have a 00 es300 . I was even thinkging about pulling the radio and finding a signal wire that way . so how does your system sound ? what kind of stuff do you have ?

  8. bingo Thank you everyone . That helps out alot :) I just checked with the dealer and the parts guy quoted me 149.31 for the sensor . I just checked in that recommened web site and they are selling it for 95.00 ... but the connector appears to be different . I know i bought the air/fuel ratio sensors and those where denso brand and connected right away . I`m wondering if the o2sensor connector is the same or different from the air/fuel sensor . does anyone know ???
  9. bingo Thank you everyone . That helps out alot :)
  10. Hello fello ES300 owners . I am looking for any good sources to purchase an o2sensor . anyone have any good sources I can check out ?? maybe some web site I can look into ?? I been to several web sites but have learned that typing in what i`m looking for and finding out that the connector is not the same . I think the toyota camry & es300 have different connectors because I know what the lexus connector looks like . please any help is appreciated .
  11. Hello my fellow Es 300 owners . I recently had my service light appear . I have an aftermarket OBD2 scanner . I pulled scan code po141 ( bank 1 sensor 2 ) air/fuel ratio sensor failure. Well I didn`t buy it from the dealer because of the price. instead i purchased one from sparkplugs.com which sells DENSO brand . I bought the needed one . It came and I began to install . Its weird that I had to remove the drvs.seat to get to the connector because the wire goes through under the body and comes out under the seat . well without me checking . the length of the wire in the new one is shorter than the original one . But the connector is the right one . just shorter . and its not as short as the sensor thats located under the hood on the exhaust manifold . so i know that one is not it either . so what I did was cut & splice the wires . I cut the wires , color matched the wires ( which are the same as the original sensor ) and twisted them together and black taped them secure . I erased the code and started the car . the car is not surging or the rpm`s fluctuating . but the vsc & vsc off light came on . I test drove the car to see how it felt . it feels like the car has no torque . drags to get up tp speed . I`m puzzelled now . don`t know what to do . can anyone tell me whats wrong ? or what I did wrong ? I`m afraid to drive the vehicle like that . anyone please and thanks ahead ...
  12. B) Hello everyone , I`m am new to this club , but i have been in this web site several times. -- I own a 99 lexus es300 . I first bought it with 39k for 15,500.00 after wheeling n dealing you know. that was 3 years ago . I just recently hit 100k last month . I always change my oil every 3000 miles . first thing i did to it was flush the transmission . I had to take it to toyota dealer because they are the only one`s who have this machine to flush trans.. I payed about 100.00 for that service . about 77k i was having this noise under the hood . turns out to be the timing belt itself . which i disagreed . i though it was the timing belt tenstioner because of the noise. I payed about 400.00 for lexus to replace the timing chain & tensioners . I have replaced the brake pads f&r once . pads purchased @ lexus . this car comes in 2 tone . black & lwer. half is dark grey . I had the lwr. half painted black so the entire car is black. so with the car being all black and my windows tinted dark . I call it my night rider . looks sharp when its nice & washed you know :) I payed about 400.00 for that paint job & buff . also had the sunroof deflector painted black to match car color . I have also replaced the spark plugs only . old one`s didn`t look that bad . really didn`t feel a differenace with the new one`s but in my mind . i feel better that I replaced them anyway ( by the way , i did replace them myself ) . the job wasn`t that bad . took about 2 hrs. to do . and thats because i dragged & took my time to do it right . I haven`t really dressed it up to much . still has the stock rims ( grey ) . i`m looking for the same rims but in chrome - no luck . I have purchased chrome lexus plates . I also added the wood dash kit . and just this past xmas . i recieved the XM radio kit for my car . still have not installed it yet . I recently had my service light come on due to an o2sensor . this appears to be a common failure on these vehicles . and my upper strut mounts are starting to make noise . and I need to take it in for another trans. service . CHEERS EVERYONE :)
  13. You should try web site : japaneseenginesinc.com - last time i looked , found some good prices . hope this helps
