  1. Stevens Creek and Putnam Lexus both suggest Auto West Collision down in San Jose (Brokaw Rd/I880 area) to me. I just took mine in to have similar damage, caused by a similar person, replaired on my IS350.

I don't know that they're Lexus certified but they do have a Mercedes-Benz cert up on the walls. They even prep'd me on how to deal with the insurance company. (e.g., insist on factory parts, etc...)

So far so good with them. Ask me again on Friday, when I get my car back! :)

i am sooooo miserable this weekend.......my new IS350 (2 months old) was hit on the passenger side rear bumper by a careless driver......the damage on the bumper was not too extensive and even though the bumper can be replaced...but my heart is still aching from deep inside.

i was even more shocked when i brought my car to the lexus dearlership in san fancisco and they say they do not have a body shop and gave me a referral to a third party body shop to go to.......wow, that's surprising to me.....

any recommendation on a "GOOD" Lexus Certified body shop in the san francisco bay area that will do Lexus bumper replacement using genuine lexus parts........and most importantly is "Lexus Certified" ?? ....casue i want the job to be done right the first time.

    Many many thanks.

  2. Here's a link to a survey of what colors 555 people own.

    http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread...highlight=color

Does anyone know what the color make up of the new IS is??

The reason I'm asking is.... I've only seen about 8 other new IS driving around... 5 of those in Houston this past weekend...

But out of the 8.... I've seem 1 silver and 1 white... and the rest BLACK... the 5 in houston... all black!!!

Just wondering if anyone had a link that shows what % of each color is made...

  3. My new IS250 is barely a week old and I am already very mad about one feature (or non-feature).

The much touted handsfree bluetooth feature which comes with the Nav sytems DOES NOT support the Treo 650 bluetooth phone. The salesman failed to let me know that the IS250 support only a few phone models (like the Motorola RAZR and a few others).

I confirmed this on the Lexus website and also talking to a customer service rep. I cannot imagine why Lexus would not make their system compatible with a year-old Treo 650.

Just because a phone isn't on the compatibility site (lexus.letstalk.com) doesn't mean that it won't work. Letstalk.com is in the business of selling mobile phones, remember. :) I had no issues getting my Blackberry 7100 paired up, and it's not on the list either.

Unfortuntely, the Treo has a reputation for very flakey Bluetooth support. I have heard that some people did get it to work, though. I performed a quick search online and found this article that might be of use (http://clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=183324&highlight=bluetooth+%22trio+650%22) to you.

Im in the midst of negotiations with the Lexus dealership in Washington state. Im interested in the IS 250 with Sports Package (Im not too fond of the woodgrain trim and would much prefer the HID, AFS, tighter suspension and larger wheels) Has anyone else opted for this option? - comments? I want to get this vehicle in Breakwater Blue Metallic but unfortunately have not actually seen this color in real life. Does anyone have pics? The dealership says they have to special order this vehicle so will have to charge me MSRP ~ $35,639 (including - accessory package/sports package/ scratch/dent proctectant/ transport fee; excluding tax and licensing fees) but with some haggling the newest offer is $34,570. Im willing to pay $34000 cause I know even at this price they are making ~ 2500. Any thoughts?

  5. I've seen numerous phones work with the IS350. I have a Motorola V551 and Blackberry 7100t myself. I've seen a Treo, Windows Mobile 5 based and Sony Ericsson phone link up.

There is varying support for transfering the phonebook from the phone to the car, though. Motorola phones are only able to do it one entry at a time.

Is the below Lexus list of Bluetooth compatible phones for the IS350 current? Most of the phones offered by Verizon are not on the below list. I find it hard to believe that I only have 1 or 2 phone choices if I want to go with Verizon. Perhaps other carriers have more choices?

  6. Yes, all of the dealers around here (SF Bay area) are offering $750 - $1200 off of MSRP just by asking. Not sure if someone can get more out of them, but I should know in a few days. ;)

I wondered if anyone else had gotten Lexus dealers to go down any on the car below msrp. I decided that I am tired and have ordered a 425 HP Dodge Charger Hemi in black. Plus with the extra money I can mod the car some. Anyways, Really have enjoyed the forum and all the great feedback you guys have given!

  7. I have an older Magellan Roadmate 500, a CompactFlash based unit, and am very happy with it. It's touchscreen, portable and has been a very reliable unit. The Magellan would be a good choice for a non-indash unit.

I have a Magellan Roadmate 700 that I use when I travel but I find it takes 5 minutes or so to find the location and when I travel out of state I always have to manually set a location for it to figure out where we are.

Do you guys have this same problem? Do you use the trunk mounted antenna? I just use the unit itself

It can sometimes take a couple of minutes to find it's new location when it has been relocated a significant distance from the location it was turned off at. This is a documented "feature". I've never had to do anything else other than wait a couple minutes, though. You might check with Magellan for a software upgrade for your unit.

  8. If i decide to get the new IS250, money will limit me to some of the options. I really want the DVD/Navi in the car but probably won't be able to afford it until I save more money. I wanted to know some of the aftermarket DVD/navi that people are using in their lexus'. I am trying to keep it around a $1000-1500. Thanks in advance.
