  1. I took it to the dealer and they said it's the rubber bushings in the differental. The bushings shrink over time and that is causing the thump sound. They said this is considered normal wear and tear and they won't cover it under warranty. I'm not sure what to do at this point, and they said it's a very BIG repair job to change out the bushings with no guarantee the thump will go away. It wasn't the spare tire, u-joints, or tranny mount. What do you guys think? It's very annoying, and i guess i have to live with the play in the differental. They said i can go back to the dealer to have the mechanic test drive with me to make sure we're hearing the same sound after you hit the gas from coasting, but what's the use if they won't honor my warranty? 2001 GS300 with pre-owned certified warranty.

  3. When i'm coasting anywhere from 20mph to 50mph, and step hard into the accelerator there is a thump(almost bass drum like sound)coming from underneath the car. Trans shifts and sounds ok. Some friends think maybe u-joints or tranny mount, but the sound seems to be more towards the rear of car. Any ideas? Are replacing u-joints considered normal wear and tear, or something that might be covered under 100k warranty? I'm at 88k now.
  4. :( Iv'e checked all blade fuses, and cartrige fuses that relate to the fans, a/c, and heater. All are good! This just happened yesterday(new years) Display is lit up ok when you try to turn fan on. Could it be one of the 3 Relays under the hood? I have the 100k pre-owned certified warranty, and am now at 87K. I don't think this would be covered though. Should i replace all 3 relays myself before bringing it into the dealer? Any ideas? Thanks Guys, and Happy New Year!
