  1. I am referring to the air filter intake....not the manifold so I am hoping it will be fine. He car was originally purchased in CA so it should already be CA SMog Emmission Ready. Any updated thoughts? I should not have any problems....except for visual inspection?
  2. My Lexus GS400 had a aftermarket Open Filter type intake installed when I bought it. Will I have any problems getting CA Smog Certificate? Thanks LexusWoman
  3. If you are interested in buying a 99 GS400, I have one with 39K miles, warranty, Chome Rims and over $10,000 in aftermarket modifications (mostly L-Sportline) that you might be intereted in. E-Mail me at mark@allaboutjohnson.com Mark
  4. You are obviously not familiar with L-Sportline's quality of products and pricing, allow me to educate you with some facts: http://www.myautofashion.com/lsporlinbodk.html L-Sportline Aerodynamics Package (Front Bumper Spoiler, Rear Apron & Side Skirts) - $1,750 L-Sportline Aerodynamics Package (3pc Rear Deck Spoiler) - $380 L-Sportline Aerodynamics Package (Roof Spoiler) - $285 L-Sportline Aerodynamics Package (Front Grill Replacement) - $250 The above alone totals $2,600...add at least another $650 for paint and install...brings this to $3,250. L-Sportline Stainless Steel Exhaust System is $850...add at least $150 for install...brings this to $1,000. L-Sportline Tuned 2" Suspension Drop (Springs/Shocks) is $1,200...add at least $400 for install....brings this to $1,600. Toyota Supra Front Caliper Upgrade is around $300...add at least $200 for install since calipers have to be modified to fit on Lexus Rotor....brings this to $500. Intake is $500 as you stated. Brand new 18" rims/tires are $2,000 as you stated. That brings the total to around almost $9,000....so I am off by about $1,000....my appoligies. All of this was actually compelted by L-Sportline themselves as opposed to a local bodyshop whcih might have some extra value to some people. I was not trying to make the car seem like it is worth more than it is. I am just trying to state what condition the vehicle is and what has been done to it so someone could give me an idea of what it might be worht to someone. I did not expect you/anyone to telling me to part it out or checking my facts to the nearest $100....although I was off by $1,000 by $1,000. All I was expecting was some estimated figures between $25,000 and $35,000 since according to NADA it is worth between $25K-$29K and according to Kelly Blue Book it is worth around $26K...so if I added half the mod value and maybe $500 for the extended warranty....$30K-$32K might be more reasonable (if someone found hte mods beneficial...which is the only way I could sell it like it is anyway). Thanks to all that were supportive. If you have any constructive input, opinions or offers...go for it. TurboGS300...Hmm...would you take a child in with the package as well? :-)
  5. I was trying to get an idea of what I could get for it based on the fact that it has about $10K in modifications. If someone is interested, like yourrself, in making an offer, that would be fine. But I am not giving it away. It is a awesome car with low miles, extended warranty with a great modifications package and looks great. Thanks for input and anyone interested feel free to make offers or at least provide your unbaised opinion. Lexuswoman (by the way I am the husband of the current driver)
  6. Hey guys/gals, If I was planning on selling my 1999 Lexus GS400, I was wondering what you think I could get for it or what it's real value would be in your opinion. 1999 Lexus GS400 V8 - 36,000 original miles Extended Warranty Good Till 7/06 or 76,000 miles through Automotive Warranty Services - Platinum Coverage - $0 Deductible. Aftermarket Air Intake L-Sportline Aerodynamics Package (Front Bumper Spoiler, Rear Apron, 3pc Rear Deck Spoiler, Roof Spoiler, Side Skirts, Front Grill Replacement) L-Sportline Stainless Steel Exhaust System L-Sportline Tuned 2" Suspension Drop (Springs/Shocks) Toyota Supra Front Calipers Slotted Rotors (Front/Rear) Brand New 18" Chrome Wheels Brand New Kumho Ecsta MX Tires (245/40YR18) It does not have Upgraded Radio System but has heated power seats. I was recently told by L-Sportline that this actual vehicle was their Flagship Vehicle used at car shows and it might even have 1-2 other upgrades that are not visable such as gearing, etc. There is a chance I will be selling this vehicle in next few months and want to plan ahead on what I can realistically expect. Thanks
  7. You cna get these Sportlines for $1,500!!! http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...st=0#entry37861
  8. Is it telling me my lights are on or I have a light out? 99 GS400.
  9. I noticed that when I come to a stop light, my idle is dropping pretty low....looks like 400rpm (less than halfway mark). What shoudl it be at and any idea on correcting this? I habd a fulkl blown 30K Lexus tune Up 6 months ago. I have an aftermarket air Filter Intake. Nothing Else. When I change to Park or Neutral or revers....all is better. thanks
  10. Any online places/dealers that sell parts cheaper than local dealer? Thanks
  11. My wife does nto drive very far to/from work/school....maybe 5 miles so based on this, would you say the 40 PSI (an not more) would be perfect?
  12. you posted this already in its appropriate section please don;t double post as this is a free web site that excess bandwidth does cost money thanks
  13. My 1999 Lexus came with L-Sportline 20 Wheels and I had a new set of low profile tires put on them, something like 285/30/20's (Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position's). Anyway the recommended Max tire pressure per the tire manufacturer is like 51 PSI. I have been told by various local tire shops that I should have between 30-45 psi depending on who I talked to. Idiots around here. I am tired of getting quick opinions that are mainly based on standard tire pressures for most tire. Since I have low profile tires and lsportline suspension and 20" rims I would think the pressure might be slightly different than a lexus off the showroom floor. I also live down south and there are many many potholes which cuases blowouts very easliy in a car/tire/wheel package like I habe. What I am trying to find out is the optimal tire pressure recommended by the manufacturer so the the tires will last the longest and reduce the chance of uneven wear and tear sicne they are a wide profile. As a side note...if I could/should increase/decrease pressure to improve ride and or offer more protection from potholes that would be great. Thanks!!!
  14. What do you mean by they stopped making L-Sportline? Where did you hear this? So the location in CA is closed? I noticed website not working?
  15. I purchased a used 1999 Lexus GS400 whcih has been modified with complete L-Sportline Packages as well as rims/tires. It also has large blue aftermarket brakes on the front and no one in my town will check/replace them. If someone could identify what brand/type they are and where I can order new pads, etc. I woudl appreciate it. I will try and attach some pics. LexusWoman (husband)
  16. My mistake...I ended up getting Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position's....and I am very pleased. Not quote as good looking as Pirelli's but cheaper and better riding in my opinion.
  17. I have staggered wheels. I decided to go with 245-35-20 in front and 275-30-20 in rear....what was on there before and receommended by every shop. Michelin Pole Position S-03
  18. I recently purchased a 99 GS400 with L-Sportline 20" Rims and suspension kit (2" lower I think). Tires are worn adn I am ready to buy new tires....preferably not Pirelli. Currently Front is 245-35-20 and Rear is 275-30-20 which is recommended by L-Sportline. My concern is that the actual tire diameter of Michelin tire (same size) is 1" greater than pirelli....so my quesiton is what is the MAX Diameter/Width that will fit so I can shop around adn see what will work. Thanks
  19. I recently pruchased a GS400 with 20" L-Sportline Rims and L-Sportline Aero Package and Suspension Package (1" drop I think). What size tires can I fit on the front/back? Anyway to use the same size tire front/rear...if so what size. Quick Reposnse woudl be helpful Thanks
