  1. Hi, Does anyone have the dimensions of the ADUS 583 Bushing? Has anyone replaced the Rear suspension, lower, outer, rearmost suspension bush. I know the ADUS 583 suits a Mk1&2 (<'94 car) but I have a 1995 mk3 car. I dont want to have to purchace a whole hub assembly from lexus :-( Many thanks in advance.
  2. Does anyone have dimensions for these Bushings? ADUS 505 and ADUS 583. I need to replace the most rearward bushing in the spindle carrier (in the United Kingdom we call it a hub) which connects to the long rear lower suspension arm. My car is a 1995, Gen-2 MK-III so might be slightly different to Gen-1 cars. However saying that, in the past I have replaced the rear upper inner wishbone bushings, 2 each side, with ADUS 578 and Armstrong did have these marked as 90-94, but they fitted a treat. So I am not sure. I need the dimensions to help me decide.
  3. My Wipers stopped working and so did the washers, so I replaced the blown fuse. Fuse blew again after 1 quick test, so it looks like something more serious. As per http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...32&hl=wiper I took the wiper asembley off and dismantled the wiper motor. There is plenty of brushes left, so I cleaned them, and the armature with some solvent. After re-assembly I connected the wiper motor to a spare battery and tested it as per the Repair manual (using pins 1 and 2/3 for slow/fast speeds). It works fine and I also measured that it draws 2 or 4 amps depending on speed, drawing a litle more current upon start up. I ran it for at least a minute, no problem and also several short bursts. I do not think that it is the wiper motor which is blowing the fuse? This is a Mark III '95 car, I think the assembly is the same as Mk II/I. Has any one had a similair problem? Does any one have any suggestions of what else I can check or test or do? There is another motor on the wiper assembly, for parking the wipers I think, but I can not find and info on net or in repair manual (mechanical and electrical) about it. At the moment I am driving about with no wipers and a bucket of water/sponge in the boot. MANY THANKS in advance for any help at all?
  4. Well, I have managed to get it all on. next week, after I have done the other side and got some good pics, I will post a "how i did it" because there are a couple of points to be aware of and some tricks to ease the elbow grease and make it a bit easier.
  5. Unfortunately my beautifull 1995 LS400 Mk III failed it's MOT (annual UK mechanical test) with "excessive play in inner rear bushes" on the rear wishbones (I think you call them 'control arms here in the US), on both sides. The tester mechanic showed me, yes you can feel play in the wheel and see the rear most wishbone mounting moving when the wheel is wiggled. Has any one replaced these bushes, I am using some ADUS 578 bushes (or bushings as they are reffered to in the USA) purchased from LDP Autoparts on ebay.com as reccomded by some US owners. The problem seems to be that the top hats are too big and the wishbone unit is now too long to fit back into the subframe mountings. A picture will follow tomorrow, so you can see my dylema.
  6. When these cam pulleys are OFF, are they keyed so that they can ONLY go back on in the correct place, and the same question for the crank pulley?
  7. Lower EGR pipe has now been replaced and the car saounds a lot quieter. Basically I undid the top 2 bolts with a socket on the end of an 18 inch extension from under the car and the bottom 2 nuts from the top of the car. It would heve been easier with 2 people, but I managed it on my own by tiing the extension to a piece of strin to hold it in place while I snuck under the car to turn the wrench. Well , thanks to you all for your moral support, I'll post a full "story" with some pictures and part numbers etc at a later date. A good start to the new year, I wish you all the same.
  8. Man, I need to replace the lower EGR pipe on my LS400 '95 MkIII. It is not looking easy :( . Do I need special tools to do it in an hour, PLEASE tel me how to to it. :D Many thanks in advance Simon.
