  1. Let us know how it works out. I need to replace my rear bushings as well, but those bushings on Ebay are the same ones I've seen listed for the front control arm. So my curiousity is peaked as to whether or not they work.
  2. The sub is 2 ohms and I think that it gets about 40 watts or so from the amp. I replaced mine with a cerwin vega sub that’s 4 ohms with two voice coils. I have them running in parallel so I'm only putting a 2 ohm load on the amp and thus I am getting the full amount of power where others on this board used a 4 ohm sub and are getting half of the power.
  3. My master key is black and my valet key is a charcoal grey.
  4. This is soooo weird, because my 98 with 130k just started doing the exact same thing. It drives me crazy. I'll be looking this weekend. If I find anything I'll let you'all know.
  5. There are only a few types: vinyl, foam rubber, and I think butyl rubber. Each of them come in the same sizes and have different color packaging to denote the material. Ultimately, the higher warranty + the higher the price = the better material. It will be one of the Rubbers. This is what the packaging will look like.
  6. To answer your question about whether or not it can be replaced, Yes. Go to Home Depot and get some appropriately sized weather striping and stick it in there. They have numerous "grades" of striping so I suggest you get the most expensive in the appropriate size. It will usually be some sort of rubber, rather than vinyl. Good Luck, and let us know how it goes.
  7. Congrats, it sounds like this guy is the real deal. I would say that a poorly working trans would affect your mileage. It obviously wasn't working properly or efficiently so I would imagine that your mileage would pick up.
  8. I guess I've had WAY too many "friends" try to screw me over when it came to auto work. :chairshot: :chairshot: But you'all know how its goes, all it takes is getting nailed a few times to make you cynical.
  9. No, that doesn't mean that it will work. I was just adding my 2 cents about octane making a difference.
  10. Thats a fantastic deal in my opinion. But, dont expect it to be perfect when its done. He will cut cornors if he's doing it that cheap.
  11. Toysrme, I 've been checking my gas milage for 2 years and every single time that I use 87 octane I get 2-3 mpg LESS!!! than when I use 93 octane. The way that I have always understood it, the lower the octane the faster it burns, but its not a good complete burn. A higher octane burns slower but more completly and thus, is more efficient - which helps a good engine produce more power. Think of Gun Powder. The old Black powder burned very fast and was explosive, but it was not efficient at all. The new smokeless powders burn super slow but completly, and thus produce more power and velocity.
  12. I most definitely owe you all numerous beers. I’m drinking one right now in your honor.
  13. HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!! I clicked on this thread by accident and ended up fixing a problem that I have struggled to diagnose for over a year. I have a well maintained engine and ignition system, but I have always had a couple flat spots in my powerband. Well this thread got me thinking about fuel pressure and how it could certainly cause some flat spots. So, I checked my "damper" and what do you know..... the screw was rolling around in the little plastic cap. I put it back in and immediately test drove my car. NO MORE FLAT SPOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe that something so simple and seemingly insignificant could cause such frustrating problems. I've always told people that many problems are simpler than they seem and that is precisely why Mechanics never fix them or find them. Thanks dcfish and Lumpy
  14. The unit can't be fixed as far as I know. Its called a Window Regulator and it can be ordered on the internet. If the cabels are messed up then you'll need a new motor too. Thats where it will get expensive. The regulator isn't that expensive by itself.
  15. One sheet per door would be more than enough and you would have some left over to use wherever you like. You don’t have to cover the entire area that you are trying to dampen. A few, smartly placed pieces will dampen bad vibrations and make things quieter. Good Luck.
  16. Here is the link to my stuff. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=268-030 Its part number is 268-030 I was wrong. Its not the cheapest, but its cheap and good.
  17. PartsExpress.com has great sound deadening stuff for your car, and its cheap. I used the cheapest stuff that they have and it works great. Plus, its self adhering - so you won't need any messy spray glue.
  18. What do you mean by this? N/A, non applicable? Naturally/Aspirated. Or, Non Turbo/Supercharger

  20. I'm with Toys. Polks Freaking ROCK!, when compared with Infinity anything. I personaly like Boston stuff but you gotta pay for 'em. Bottom Line. Polks ROCK!
  21. They should fit, but they will look tiny on the stock rims.
  22. Can't a higher amp alt. burn your dash lights out quicker???
  23. I've even thought about putting one of those foam baffles around the bottom to at least bounce some of the pressure back into the cone to tighten the bass up a little. You can get them on PartsExpress.com. I have my doubts if it will make any audible difference but who knows.
  24. I've thought about the same thing Backwoods. I have a Cerwin Vega woofer in my back deck and thought that a small box would tighten the bass up some. I just haven't had enough time. Let us know if you do anything.
