  1. My auto wipers seem to have a mind of their own. At times when the rain or snow is heavy, the time between wipes is pretty long. Other times when there is just a little moisture, they wipe like crazy. I have heard some complaints regarding the auto wipers and am wondering if what I am seeing is typical.
  2. Thanks for the reply. At lunch today, I drove my Pilot and noticed it there too. I am surprised it took me so long to ever notice this. :whistles:
  3. PS. To verify, you just need to start the RX, turn on the signal and turn the steering wheel so the spoke that is at 9:00 goes to 12:00. Right when I get to 12:00, I hear a click.
  4. I just noticed today that if I turn on my blinker and move the steering wheel 90 degrees, left or right, there is a click. I am not sure if this is normal and I never noticed it or actually a problem. Can anyone help with this?
  5. Actually, the stock stereo is 8 speakers where the ML has 11 according to the Lexus site. I think the extra 3 speakers are the 2.5 metal mid-high drives located as the base of the window and also the center speaker. The ML also has a 7 channel amp.
  6. How much bass do you like? I would say the bass is pretty similar to a home setup where everything is pretty balanced. That said, the bass is no where what you will see in a typical 10" car sub in a sealed box. I have another vehicle with a competition level after market stereo system. While the ML isn't at that level, it still sounds very good and the sound stage is pretty amazing.
  7. I wouldn't go that route for a couple of reasons. For one, I believe the door speakers are only handling the bass so you don't need a tweeter because it won't produce any sound. If this is not the case and the door speakers do get a full signal, you really don't want to do it because now you have the highs coming from your ankles as well as highs coming from the stock pillar tweeters. Having highs coming from both places will really mess up your sound stage. In addition, if you go with a 4 ohm speaker, these speakers will get half the power of what the stock 2 ohm ones got so they will be 1/2 as loud. Why do you want to replace the door speakers? If you want more bass, you should just find a good 6.5" mid what will fit. If you feel the sound quality is not up to par, then your best bet would be to buy component speakers and mount the mids in the doors and put the tweeters where the stock ones currently reside. Even that may be tricky because the stock HU's x-over settings may not fit what the component set's x-over uses.
  8. I actually rotated the spare onto one of the fronts. I noticed that the left front wheel had a stick on weight but there wasn't one on the inside lip. I couldn't see any marks of a clip on weight so maybe the wheel didn't need it but when I replaced it with the spare, the vibration went away. At the same time I also put all the tires at exactly 30 lbs so that could have also helped fix the problem.
  9. I drove a bunch of 330s before I purchased mine. I couldn't figure out why some rode so much better then others. In some, I could feel every bump while others were silky smooth. I compared my RX to a loaner back to back and the ride was substantially different. I finally figured out the difference was caused by the type of tire on the vehicle. I have the Michelins and they ride great and my RX is easily the quietist vehicle I have ever been in. The Goodyear’s, on the other hand, definitely ride harder and seem to be noisier.
  10. I drove quite a bit on the highway last night trying to gather as much info as I could. I did find that it is worst at about 64 mph and goes away above 70. The fact that it goes away at a certain speed does make me think it could be the tires or maybe a half shaft that is unbalanced.
  11. I did check the pressure and all tires were correct. Usually unbalenced tires will cause the steering wheel to shake back and forth. In this case, there is just a vibration but no shake. I think I will still rotate the tires before taking it in just so I can tell them it is not a tire problem if that is in fact the case.
  12. I now have 2,000 miles on my RX330. A while back I noticed that there was a vibration coming through the steering wheel. I am very familiar with tires being unbalanced and this is not one of those cases. The steering wheel has no shimmy to it, it is just a vibration. I really notice it while cruising at 65 or 70 mph on a really smooth road. I can actually feel the cycle of the vibration where it gets stronger over about 4 seconds and then goes away for about half a second and then starts again. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? I drove another RX today and it definitely didn't have the vibration.
