  1. I agree 100% on the interior of the BMW's... but I think that I must have misunderstood what you are saying about the full maintenance. Here is what it says online: For most luxury cars, maintenance is a hidden cost to consider. And when you compare maintenance programs, it’s clear they’re not all the same. In fact, the BMW Maintenance Program* is one of the most comprehensive programs in its class and it offers the longest coverage period. We cover all factory-recommended maintenance at no charge for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, as well as items that need replacement due to regular wear and tear. Your maintenance costs: Scheduled inspections: $0 Brake Pads: $0 Brake Rotors: $0 Engine Belts: $0 Oil Changes: $0 Wiper Blade Inserts: $0 Inspections: $0 Fluid Services: $0 By offering such a comprehensive maintenance program with every new vehicle, we’re able to help you manage the cost of ownership and keep maintenance costs down. And since all services are done at an authorized BMW center, by a BMW certified technician who has been specially trained by us, we can guarantee that only original BMW parts will be used. In other words, your BMW will be maintained by our standards, which are, admittedly, higher than most. To receive these services at no cost, just schedule an appointment at your BMW center while your vehicle is covered by the program. Items replaced due to wear and tear must be worn down past factory-recommended standards.
  2. This is a list of problems from a previous post that I was having with my RX... This is a list of what I sent to Lexus to have done at my next service… 1- I just had my RX in for service...I had complained about a popping noise while turning the wheel all the way to the right...this is because the tech had left the under cover loose the last oil change that I had before. The right front of the undercover has damage where it fell on the tire and I had to get out and push it back up...the undercover was screwed back up…but now makes a pop every time I turn the wheel all the way to right or hit a bump. I was told that the noise could not be duplicated the last time that it was in. I still here the noise when I am driving the car. (This was the Tech’s fault) 2- I received a recall notice about floor retaining clips. (Minor) 3- Lumbar support- the part was ordered for my RX and was sent a card that the part is in. Please keep the part until my next scheduled service 60,000 miles. (Lumbar went out drivers side seat) 4- Jerk in transmission- I had talked to a service tech and was told that the jerk and hesitation, that I was experiencing was normal. The thump when down shifting doesn’t seem normal to me; the transmission seems to shift at sometimes perfect and then sometimes very sporadic. (Not a huge deal…but it can be annoying) 5- Rattle in the dash / sunroof. When it is cold there is a constant rattle in the dash and sunroof of the car whenever I am driving slow over any bumps. It seems to be getting worse. (This drives me NUTS!!!!) 6- Ticking noise is coming from the engine when startup when it is cold out. I am pretty sure Lexus has a fix out for this. (Minor) Most of this is not a major problem I just got my RX back last night after driving a IS250awd for the past couple of days...and I have to say that I am HAPPY! :D :D :D FIXED....REPAIRED...all! I am 110% satisfied and I have told everyone how great the service was. I was called and kept up to date...and I am thrilled with the way the transmission is after they did perform the flare. All rattles gone!!!!! They replaced the underbelly covering...fixed the ticking.... I am HAPPY...and I am sending them a card to the service dept...to Thank them... Just thought I would share a great service experience...since we usually only read about the bad ones... :D :D
  3. Well glad that at least the wifey is Happy! :D My RX330 is being serviced today and I took the driver for a little ride so he could see/hear some of my complaints. Funny how that works...I drive it every day...and it makes the same noise and jerk all of the time. ERRR...get him in and it did not do it. Well I was p-----d OFF! I told him just take the car up there and if you do not here the noise have someone call me. Well 5 minutes later...the driver called me! he said that he definitely heard the noise in the dash. At least...I am not going crazy...yet! Got another IS250 AWD as a loaner. B) B) not a rattle one!
  4. Like what? Exactly! ;)
  5. I also have DATA DOTS...it is not a real big deal. All they have done is inscribed an identification # or something to that effect in/on the projection lights. They had..many problems with people stealing them...so now if someone takes them they can be identified. That is basically what I got out of what I read on them...
  6. Yes...the towel kind of just acts like a cushion...doesn't matter if it is up or down. Have had mine both ways. Now if I could just get the other rattles to stop that easy! :whistles:
  7. :D That drove me nuts too! I took a hand towel and put in the bottom of the rear armrest. That solved the problem...no more banging...and you never know when you might need the hand towel. Brilliant minds think alike ... we did the same :^) Forgot to mention...Patent pending! :D
  8. :D That drove me nuts too! I took a hand towel and put in the bottom of the rear armrest. That solved the problem...no more banging...and you never know when you might need the hand towel.
  9. well ill experiment every morning when i park my car at work Man that is real strange...I would take it in now! Tell them what happened so they can have it on file!
  10. I am just about to hit 60,000 on mine. No real problems for me...I have had mine for just over a year...here is a list of what I sent to Lexus to have done at my next service… 1- I just had my RX in for service...I had complained about a popping noise while turning the wheel all the way to the right...this is because the tech had left the under cover loose the last oil change that I had before. It seems to be getting worse. (This drives me NUTS!!!!) :chairshot: 6- Ticking noise is coming from the engine when startup when it is cold out. I am pretty sure Lexus has a fix out for this. (Minor) Most of this is not a real problem...and if I had it to do all over again I would still buy my RX330... As far as the power I feel that the RX330 has enough power for me...but after driving the RX350...I would love to have the increased HP! I also did not notice the Tranny/drive by wire issue....with the RX350. Good Luck…with whatever you decide to do!
  11. I really do not like it, I hate the pop up nav. but whatever...
  12. The key to what DC said is to make sure that the UPKEEP has been done on whatever car/suv you are looking at. Lexus/Toyota makes great vehicles...but if you use Lexus to fix/repair your car it is much higher than Toyota. Just look at a regular service for oil/rotate tires/check and top off fluids...Toyota around $50...Lexus $160+ (these figures are estimates of my services) Sure you can, and I could take my car somewhere and save some money...as DC said buy parts online...do small services yourself...if you can and or want to. What year and model LEX are you looking for????
  13. :cries: :cries: :cries: Sorry....it is frustrating...when you keep having problems like that. I hate to say this but sometimes it pays to be very blunt with the dealership...but make sure you are telling the right person. Tell them exactly how dissatisfied you have been and let the Sales Manager or the General Manager know that you will now not even consider the purchase of a new Lexus because of the issues that you have mentioned...tell him that you have given them many times to try to fix the problems. It is funny how talking to the right person sometimes is all that is needed. Quick version of a story: My JEEP that I bought was lets just say was a nightmare when I purchased it. I bought it used from what was thought to be a reputable dealership. Was told about all of the services they had done...and Carfax was clean. Really did not care too much as this was just going to be a beater anyway. After getting the car back the 3rd time in the 2 weeks I had owned it I actually was told by the Service Manager "Is there anything else you would like us to fix or do you just want us to go get you a new Jeep...would that make you happy" That was it...waited for 20 minutes to speak to the General Manager of the dealership. Told him everything and how many problems I had...had. He went to the lot handed me the keys to his loaner and said I will call you when you can come get you JEEP. Found out later he went in after I left fired the Service Manager...and guess what my Jeep was fixed! For the money that these cars cost...it should definitely not rattle. I honestly was not impressed with the quality and feel of the interior of the new BMW's...maybe it was just me. Good luck with whatever you decide to do...
  14. lambobaby1218- I know what you mean...about the rattle I have recently (since it has gotten cold) got a rattle around my sunroof...I am just about to bust the glass in the sunroof it is driving me nuts! The dealership has told me that they will fix it...we will see! I hope so. How many times has the dealership tried to fix it?
  15. NC! How long have you been married...let me teach you a secret! :whistles: Reverse physcology: Whatever you want her to get just tell her "well that is fine baby...it is your car but I really think you should look at the _____"... SOLD you will be signing the papers! :D If you do not want her to get the car just say " Yea that is the one I think that you should get too"...she will want something different. J/K!! This is one of those things that is going to leave your head spinning...you are going to feel drunk by the time this is over. When my wife starts looking for a car it is without a doubt one of the most confuzing things I have ever went through...not quite as bad as her picking out a pair of shoes to match an outfit! :D "Which ones do you like the round ones or the pointed"...uhh they look the same...I mean the pointed...what does she wear the round ones...see what I mean! Why even "ASK" Just let her find what she likes that is in the price range that you both want to spend and that you both think will be a safe and reliable car. I beleive your at the junction of "Let her pick it out and you live with it".
  16. I am also just about 6' and would not want to have people riding on the backseat if I was driving the IS. The IS is a great car but it is also much smaller than I would want as an everyday driver. My wife's C230 is also a fun car but I also would never want to drive that car everyday. Actually after having the RX I prefer getting in and out of that going to work than I would any car. I used to have a Camry and that was OK...to get in and out of but still not as comfortable as the RX IMHO. If we are going out with another couple I will take my RX, but if it is just her and I we will take her car it is fine for us...but a little cramped with company! :D ;) I don't know why anyone would even consider buying a car that would not fit their lifestyle? I certainly would not buy a IS unless it was for my wife or a spare vehicle...
  17. Well you could pocket the cash...from yours. Lease a 350 for 3yrs...write it off on taxes...and then buy your LS in 3 years!
  18. I have never had a Nissan...but the new Maxima...looks nice! Also has a lot of features... As far as the 4 banger Camry...I had an 03! I loved it and drove great...here in flat country more than enough power...but then again I was not trying to race it. I had considered the 6 cyl but found all options that I wanted and the Catalina Blue...with the 4 banger...no negatives here.
  19. Are you negotiating the payments or the price of the car. Always negotiate the price of the car. Play around on www.lexus.com build the car and see how much you need to get off the purchase to make the lease payments what you want. Just wondering is there any reason you are looking to lease instead of purchasing? I would also advise you to put as little down as possible if you are leasing. The price obviously will depend on the options that you are getting on the car...good luck!
  20. NC... I agree with you 110% about a father providing for his family... But the fact that they are sneaking in to get the benefits that our country offers is cheating our system. They are not contributing to our country but yet taking jobs that would pay more if they had too. You are right most pay little or no tax...and then use benefits that shouldn't be available to them (schools, hospitals, etc). I don't care if they are working in the fields illegally or if they are working at Microsoft illegally it is still wrong...and I don't buy the well if they don't do it who will. My father in law is a farmer...I have helped pick watermelons, cantaloupe, dig up sweetpatotoes etc. My grandfather his (7) brothers and their father all were all farmers...it is hard work. They found people that worked...now they all are retired besides my father in law and yes he has trouble finding people that will do that type of work...and it is because the cost of his produce is forced down by cheap labor...to keep his prices low he has to keep his pay low. There are still people that will work...but what happens when he has his $8- $9/ hour employee and then his competitor hires a $5/ hour illegal immigrant as an employee. Illegal immigrants are doing work for less $$$ an hour than what you or I would do or could afford to do it for regardless if it is construction, farming, whatever it is wrong. It is all B. S. The employer...whether it is a farmer or a contractor should be fined and fined big time! Well I feel better! :D Yea... That too! :chairshot:
  21. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=40...rsusa&hl=en When you get a chance watch this video and see what you think. I have no problem with anyone that wants to come to this country legally...to work! Do you know that hospitals all along the border are closing because of illegal immigrants that are crowding the hospital...and the hospitals have no recourse to get any $$$. There are actually reports that the Mexican ambulances drive the Mexican Citizens to the AMERICAN Hospitals. These hospitals are closing because they are being drained. Our Social Security system is being abused by illegal and legal immigrants that take advantage of social security disability. The Mexican government is not willing to help with border security instead they are providing handheld GPS systems to their citizens to avoid getting caught entering our country illegally so they can send our money back to their country. Do we have a problem with immigration from Canada? No...why? Because that Canada is not pushing its poor out into another country. Why should our TAXES provide schools, clothing, food, etc. to illegal immigrants...and lets not even get into the crime that is done by illegal aliens. I have followed this debate on the news and have heard both sides. I do not think that the jobs justify the illegal aliens. There are plenty of legal immigrants and other people that could do the work if we had a guest worker program.
  22. :chairshot: :cries: :cries: :cries: Taxes
  23. I think that the garage is a huge + !! Are you saying $90 a month or what? If so I would get it hands down...
  24. LMAO! Or some lazy has pushed a shopping cart up just out into the middle of the parking lot and it ends up next to your car! That is why I love having another car/suv that I can drive and not worry about too...much!
