  1. It seems the biggest problem is getting the screws loosened. Has anyone tried a small impact wrench with a Phillips bit, or would that harm the valve? Thanks!
  2. Thank you for responding (despite my having called my headlights the "headling") Never in a million years would I have figured this out without your help.
  3. For some reason, my automatic headlights have started to go on when it is still fairly light outside. Is there a sensor that controls this, and if so does it get dirty and need cleaning? Thanks!
  4. It's time for me to install a new battery in my 2002 RX300. The car has a navigation system. My questions are these: 1. Other than the usual precautions one takes when changing out a battery, do I need to do anything special? 2. Will I lose my radio pre-sets? 3. Will I need an unlock code for the radio? If so, is it the last four digits of the VIN? 4. Do I need to do anything special to protect the navigation system? Though I've changed-out dozens of batteries in my lifetime, I just want to be sure I don't "smoke" anything on the RX because, as you may know, once the "magic smoke" is out of your electrical system, your car will never run the same again. :P (Just ask thousands of British car owners with the old Lucas electrical systems!) Thanks for your help. Scott
  5. Great posting. Thanks for going to the trouble. A question about the part....is it a dealer only part, or can it be bought aftermarket? Thanks!
  6. The front and back door speakers in my 2002 RX300 have begun to buzz. Are these "consumer replaceable?" If so, do I have to use factory speakers or are there aftermarket speakers that will work? Thanks for your help.
  7. I had my car in five (yes, five) times to fix a dashboard rattle. The last time, I got the factory service rep involved. Despite five trips to the dealer, the problem was not fixed. When I complained, again, I was told they couldn't fix it and that I could sue them (or take them to arbitration) if I was unhappy. Here's the bottom line: When it comes time to get rid of the POS RX300, I will NEVER own a Lexus or Toyota product again. My 1990 Acura Legend, with 208,000 miles, is a better car than my 02 RX300 with 65,000 on the clock. My next car will be an MDX.
  8. I have an 02 RX300. The moonroof has recently begun to chatter when going from the tilted open position back to closed. It works fine going from closed to tilted open, and works fine sliding horizontally. I've tried lubricating the tracks and arms with silicone spray, but the problem persists. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
