  1. my bill for the left rear sensor was $300. it solved my problem. but when my defroster or ac is on, sometimes the lights will come back on. i think this is a sensor that has to do with the ac system, not the abs/traction
  2. when this happened to my 99, it was a wheel sensor. it was replaced by the toyota dealer. it had to be pressed out
  3. the canister on a 99 es is under the rear axle. if you get under the car and take a flashlight you will see it. it is about the size of a cereal box, just thicker. to gain better access to it, you can disconnect the exhaust from the rubber hangers. there really isnt much to look at on it 'cept a black box and a couple hoses. if you are getting the code for the box, you are covered under the warranty up to certain mileage. i am not sure what mileage but i have a 99 so mine was not covered
  4. and too bad normal folks can't see what these cars are going for
  5. dealers use the manheim auction for trade in pricing. it is a pain in the !Removed! for me since it is a few miles away
  6. ordered a charcoal canister and a/f sensor for $400 shipped. great dealing with them guys
  7. from www.ajusa.com the 4 struts and strut mounts(including bearings) shipped were $500
  8. bought my 99 es in nov 05 for 12k with 70,000 miles just needed tires. no real maint til this year. $3000 later the car should last til 250k cept tires and pads. it seems like a lot, but for how much i paid, the 3k isnt much
  9. that is a real good price for install and parts. you will not be disappointed. let them do it for that price. lexus would prob charge $500 for labor, plus about $80 for an alignment
  10. the canister is only covered up to 1998. i just replaced mine on my 99. i got it from www.sewelllexus.com the codes will be 0441 and i think 0446
  11. dude, do it yourself. rent the spring compressor tool from autozone, it is free, well, $40 deposit and then you get it back. i got the one that compresses from the outside not the inside. just remember what position the strut mount and bracket come off, so they are reinstalled correctly, and do one side at a time. you may want to replace the strut mounts at the same time also, it is just easier. make sure you have a long breaker bar for the strut bolts
