  1. FYI the 2006 SC430 wheel and tire combo weighs 57 lbs on my bathroom scale. 228 lbs for 4 sets. imagine how much weight one can save with light weight wheels. The SSR competition wheel and matching goodyear F1 tire combo weighs 40 lbs. that's a saving of 17 lbs per corner of unsprung weight saved. BTW, the lexus brake calipers are one of the ugliest ones on the market. the rear ones are especially repulsive. not good substrates for painted calipers. happy thanksgiving.
  2. i believe '05 has upgraded navigation system with integrated bluetooth.
  3. 1) new engine is unlikely. SC just had transmission upgrade for 06, makes little sense to spend major money to upgrade power train again for a low volume car. 2) navigation had been upgraded either 05 0r 06 to integrate blue tooth. in terms of functionality, GS nav is not much better than the 06 nav. 3) again, unlikely for a low volume car. 4) color is likely, since it's an inexpensive upgrade. a new sc model is probably not due until a few years later. sc is a low volume car, it's not profitable to upgrade the car often.
  4. oem shock with performance springs is in general not a good idea. your shocks will wear out faster. if your shocks are over a couple years old, you should have them replaced along with the springs instead of spending more money on a repair a couple years down the road. eleven year old springs are functionally inferior to new springs. it's a spring, it can develop fatique over time.
  5. coolant leaked somewhere in your car and spilled onto a hot surface and evaporated, that's why you smell it in the car. you didnt mention meileage and age of your car, but radiator hoses in general should be replaced around 70k or so to prevent leakage. in fact any rubber hoses in the system could easily leak. you need someone to do a pressure test for you or if you are so inclined, change all rubber hoses yourself to see if that solves the problem.
  6. it's normal for this car to turn slightly when hitting a pothole. my complaint with the car is the LACK of feedback during hard cornering and slow steering reflex. i wish there is a way i can improve that.
