  1. Thanks for the help and info everyone now I can happily go about my day without worry :)
  2. Is that with a new filter ? If my memory serves me right the fill is 5.7 qts. You should be alright as long as it is within the low and full mark on the dipstick. Yes that is with new filter as well, so the capacities I have read do not include filter? What capacities have you read ? Where did you get the info ? The book at o'reillys said 4.8qt, and just from past experience I have always used 5.5 so 6 seems extreme to me.

  4. This is the dumbest question I think I've ever had to ask. I have a 1992 sc400. I recently had the engine replaced with a low mileage one. Today I went to change my oil for the first time since having it back and it took 6 qt of oil to read full on the dipstick. This seems like too much to me? I drove it for a short amount of time and didn't notice anything weird about it or anything. Would too much oil harm the engine?
  5. Ok. I have been searching the internet far and wide but cannot find an answer to this. When reversing if I hit the brakes I can hear and feel a decent clunk noise. I took it to a shop and was told that it was my control arm bushings but that replacement was not necessary if the problem did not bother me. Is this safe? Is the bushing failure just a nuisance and not a safety concern? My 1992 sc400 has roughly 215,000 mi. on it and it would ease my mind to know if I am safe in this car. Thanks.
  6. I have been searching for that part for 6 months now. Its called "lip" or "front valence/spoiler". the cheapest i've found it for is $400. Which is why i still dont have one. I've tried junkyards and even asked random SC owners to self theirs, but it seems to be a rare and expensive part. Let me know if you find one, i would really appreciate it. Good luck. Aw thats not very encouraging lol. I'll let you know if i find one, you do the same please. thanks
  7. Ok... On my car (1992 sc400) it appears that there was once something mounted below the front bumper cover. I have seen this part on several other cars and it just looks like it has fallen off of, or was removed from mine, there are these little bracket things just hanging there. I like the look of it too, so maybe someone could tell me what this part is called or where I can get one. Thanks. Mike
  8. I don't know, maybe you guys could point me in the right direction?
  9. Hey again guys, just had the rear mufflers removed and straight pipe added. Not too lund and it sounds sweet as hell.
  10. Hey guys, been reading these forums for a few weeks now and I think it seems like a good place to learn and talk about these cars. Just bought a 1992 SC400 with 170k miles on it. Here are some pics. I got it for $4450 which I thought was a deal so I couldn't pass it up. So far I love how this thing drives and looks and just everything about it.
