  1. I have Sprint Voice Command at a cost of $5.00 per month (well worth it). I entered access to Voice Command on the number 1 speed dial. Now, all I do is press the telephone switch on the steering wheel and the speed dial appears on the nav system. I touch Speed Dial #1 and hear a "bong" tone from Sprint. That gains me access to over 400 numbers on Sprint voice Command that are all accessed by voice. For example, "Call Bill at home." or "Call Bill on the cell phone" and it dials the number. New names and numbers are added or changed over the internet from home, office or laptop. When I changed from my BMW to my Lexus IS 250 AWD, I didn't have to do anything but program the #1 speed dial number. Sure beats having to enter all of these numbers into the car. And, when I take my cellphone out of my car, I still have access to Voice Command dialing. I swear by it. Also, when I purchased a new cellphone, Voice Command was there ready to use. Great convenience. I have NO interest in Sprint - no stock and no employment there. Just really like the Voice Command feature.
  2. I traded a BMW 325xi for my IS 250 AWD. I drove both the 250 and the 350. My first reaction to driving the 350 was that I would get speeding tickets with it. The 250 AWD is a lot more responsive than my 325xi (2002). The 250 is definitely enough car for me.
  3. I've been reading the posts under other Lexus models and getting worried that I won't be able to get a cellphone to work properly in my IS 250 AWD when it gets in to the dealer in a couple of weeks. What I really want is to have VOICE DIALING so I won't have to take my eyes off the road or my hands off of the steering wheel. Is anyone here successfully using a cell phone through bluetooth in a new IS 250/350? anyone able to use voice dialing in a new IS 250/350? I am currently driving a BMW with the factory phone and Sprint as my cell phone carrier. All I have to do, to place a call, regardless of whether or not the car is moving, is press the speaker phone button on the steering wheel. WHen I do that, there is one tone, and I say the name of the person I want to call and the Sprint Voice Command does the rest (if the name and number have been entered into Sprint Voice Command using my internet connection at my home or my office). The Voice Command is a service of Sprint that costs only $5 per month. I checked and Cingular has a similar service. Anyone able to use voice dialing in their IS 250/250? I don't care which cell phone company or which telephone I have to use, I just want the phone to work properly.
  4. I just spoke with the Lexus dealer here in Kansas City, Missouri. He said that they sold the first 350 that they had with the ML radio to someone in California because the CA person said that they could not get the 350 with a ML radio there. Interesting.
  5. Jim: I don't know if this will work in the Lexus (my new Lexus isn't due in for another 3 weeks or so) but I have a excellent workaround in my current BMW. I have Sprint Voice Command (but most carriers have some kind of voice dialing capability). The button on my steering wheel automatically re-dials the last number dialed. The last number that I plug in is "Asterick - Talk." That way, my phone goes directly into Sprint's Voice Command and all I have to do is say the person's name and which number (home, office, or cell) and the phone dials it for me. The names and numbers are added/deleted/changed from my home computer. And, I can just use voice dialing if I want to dial a number that I have not already added to Sprint. A big plus is that, when I am out of my car, I still have the voice dialing capability, including when travelling in other cities. I am anxious to see if this system will work in my new Lexus. Sure beats having to mickey mouse around with entering numbers into the car and/or trying to sync the phone books between the handheld and the car. By the way, no one at BMW seemed to know that the phone in the car would work this way so it is not documented anywhere. The $5 per month for Voice Command is well worth the conveniece. Dr C
