  1. anyone has done this repair on the front door recently?
  2. ok after careful testing i found the following -passenger door lock works fine, it just gets "stuck" due to the issue with the driver door - passenger works 50/50. it lock it using the remote/switch it will lock in 8 of out 10. the issue it has is when LOCKING, as neither using the remote or the switch will work, if i "help" the mechanism a bit, by staging the lock arm a bit towards the locking position, then it will lock successfully does it mean my auctuator in the driver door is about to go? or would it be that it might just require a dust cleanup?
  3. Today could not unlock both of my front doors, the remote key can unlock both rears and the trunk. do you all think both actuators went bad at the same time? or coudl it be a fuse? thank you for your feedback..
  4. I tried the cleaning the battery contacts, but no money. The problem is still there, and it gets kind of anoying when it is very dark, specially on the dome light.. Any more ideas? thanks RCNV
  5. I will try the battery post cleaning workaround, the problem is not limited to one bulb, its on the corner lights, healights, dash indicator lights, door lights, tailights. I seen old cars and some trailer trucks with the same issue before when driving around. Some because their cars are too old or others because they are obiously using a lot of power due to their loud bumping music..thus all their ilumination oscillates when their music is on. Thanks RCNV

I am having this issue with our RX300 when the car is started and without turning on the headlights or the radio (only the auxilliary lights: side marker, licence plates, tailight) or when we turn on the interior dome light. we can perceive that there is some flickering/oscillating. The illumination is not stable, something like if the current was changing. if it turn on the headlights, i can perceive them oscillating when i contrast the lights in a dark area. if i turn on the heater and the radio, it seems not to make it worst or go away. Any ideas, I am vaguely speculating that it could be either the alternator about going bad or something with a voltage regulator? So far we had no troubles starting, we drive the rx on the weekends so pretty much we used it 2 to 4 times a month. it currently has 71000 mi thank you RCNV

  8. Hello Everyone: I just got an 99 Rx300 with 67K miles on it. The car apparently had a 30K dealer recommended service and regular oil changes. Right after getting it, i took it to the dealer for an inspection, and they concluded the it just needed an engine and tranny oil change. THey also fixed a exhaust component that it was part of a service buletin. Just yesterday, after 1400mi since that oil change, I switched to Mobil 1 10-30W after an engine flush. I was wondering what other preventive maintenaince should be performed just to be on the "safe side" Should I wait until 90K to replace the timing belt (tensioner, bearing), serpentines, and water pump. or would it be a good idea to do it now? Should valves be ajusted around this time? Thank you, this is an excellent forum. RCNV
