  1. Glad you posted the question for us 2.5 owners. I've got a 99 with 122k.
  2. What a treat on a very hot day! I love this feature:) I agree, great feature! I use it nearly everytime I approach the car 7 months out of the year.
  3. I highly recommend this as well. I've seen it do wonders on some engines.
  4. I just noticed on the daizen site, http://www.daizensporttuning.com/products/...m_bushings.html they now make front and rear control arm bushings for 2nd generation LS400 Anyone have any reviews on this product? What about sway bar bushings as well? Any comments on labor as well. Thanks.
  5. I have a 1999 LS400, mileage just under 120k, and I've been experiencing a knocking sound coming from the right side of the front end. mainly it's at speeds under 30, and the rate of knocking varies with speed. it also stops whenever you use the brakes in the least bit. Any suggestions?
  6. Last trip I took in my 1999 LS400, no A/C, just me in the car, and the moonroof open most of the time, I got 31 MPG.
  7. I've got my iPod connected through the tape adaptor on my 99 LS, and although it sounds decent, it doesn't compare to the CD player. I'd like to get it hardwired eventually if the cost is not too high.
  8. 2k for install? sounds like they are ripping you off
  9. People often ask, "how long will an LS400 last?" and other similar reliability questions, and the response is a bunch of people with very high mileage LS's saying they have very few problems. well, as anyone ever seen one that was actually at the end of it's life simply from high mileage, without being in a wreck? I've never heard of one.
  10. nothing on there for a 99 LS400
  11. I've been using my iPod in my 99 LS through the tape deck, but quality is not all that great, and CD's sound much better. anyone know of a hardwired setup? I've considered the radio connection option but I think hardwiring it would sound the best.
  12. DON'T EVER GO TO FIRESTONE!! damn... the stories I have heard from a friend who worked there for a while. They automatically assume that you are a moron from the simple fact that you have entered their shop. (literally). They scam so many people, they do terrible work.... they drained the oil on someone's 2004 Chevy Silverado, and never refilled it. He got on the highway right after leaving the shop and then engine was gone within a few minutes. My friend who worked there would have managers screaming at him whenever he didn't sell someone a part they didn't need. I could probably go on for hours.
  13. it's a pearl green, dark but not too dark. it's the green that isn't two tone, same body color top and bottom, I've seen others with a green that didn't sparkle as much and had a grey bottom
  14. the telescopic steering on my 1999 does not function. I'm guessing it could it be the same problem?
  15. Thanks for the replys. I ended up buying a 1999 Imperial Jade Metallic LS400. I'm glad I went with the 2.5!
  16. can anyone update some of the pictures? the original post is a few years old so most of the links are dead
  17. I haven't done my research with the LS430 but when searching for a gen 2.5 (98-00) LS400, I noticed that the GS300's usually cost the same with equal condition/miles, and the GS400's would usually be more. I think the GS is generally more popular so even though the original price was much lower, they cost about the same after they're a few years old. After seeing this, I was set on getting the LS.
  18. Anyone use it? If so, let me know if it made a difference and how it felt afterwards. I'm about to put some on my gas on a 99 LS400, and was also going to run some through the intake. Also, where exactly in the intake should I put it? I haven't even really looked yet so I don't know if it's real simple or not. Thanks
  19. you know... a carfax report.... a lot of times people will have a subscription for unlimited reports.
  20. Thanks in advance. Just PM me or AIM me at jbroker123 if you can do it. i'll be very much appreciated.
  21. Thanks for all the responses! I'm probably going to stay with gen. 2.5
  22. can you explain about the 98 engine being interference? I'm guessing it has something to do with the variable valve timing, and I've also heard that if your timing belt goes on the 98+ it is much more costly.
  23. I had been set on getting a gen. 2.5 ls400, but I've found a 1997 that looks brand new still, even with 150k miles, that I might consider buying. Can anyone tell me exactly what features I will miss out on? I know the engine and transmission are different, but how much difference is felt in the real world? and I know it won't have HID headlights. are they just as reliable otherwise also? thanks in advance.
