  1. From your photo I would guess that you have a 90-94. If so then you need to clean the throttle body. That will fix the idle.
  2. One of the ignigthers was faulty on my 93. It seemed to exhibit the same symtoms you mention.
  3. Open the glove compartment and remove the contents including the shelving. On the back of the glove compartment you will see a removable panel. Remove this panel and you will see a white box with a removable cover. Remove the cover and the filter will be sitting right in front of you. It is an easy job
  4. Python It depends upon what you buy. My seats were a dark purple color and they only came as all leather, and I had to pay more.
  5. Hi Jeff: I went to Bill's auto upolstery in Fullereton on Lambert rd about 1 mile west of Harbor. The shop isn't much to look at but they do good work.
  6. I bought leather seats from this same place with the intention of doing the job myself. After receiving the seats I opted to have them professionally installed. It cost me $500.00 but was worth every penny. The pros spent 12 hours replacing the foam and installing the new leather seats. Porbably woud have taken me twice as long. i would have never been so patient and would have screwed the job up. It came out beautiful. Also, the guys who installed them said that the quality of the seats I purchased was better than the replacement leather seat covers sold at the Lexus Dealer. Good Luch
  7. You can have the oil changed for $72.00 at the Lexus dealer. They will then check you whole car out for free. I've done this several times with new Lexus cars I've bought.
  8. I will buy it. Please email me at pfleyva@hotmail.com thanks
  9. I guess it is possible. I just bought a 2005 lease return, one owner, 59K, navigation etc... for 25K
  10. I have had three LS400's and am now looking to buy a used 2005 or 2006. I am in Southern California. It seems that the used car market is very slow. Does anyone know just how flexible the dealers are on their prices? I've seen 2005's with 50K, CPO and navigation at dealerships for 32K and the dealers have been willing to go down to 28K. Am I crazy to think I can purchase this car for 26K? What are the lease returns selling for at the auctions? Thank you, in advance
  11. How did you make out with your code 21?I have the same problem with my 95 The repair man told me that the laser "pick-up" wasn't working and that the spindle was most likely bad also. I decided not to get it repaired or replaced. Instead I am installing a Ipod hookup through the amplifier.
  12. Please help, I am receiving an "Error Code 21" What does this mean. How can i fix this? Thanks
  13. I have a 1993 LS400. Does anyone have any instructions for replacing the sunroof? Back Story: My son smashed up my 1994 LS400 last week, so this week I bought another, but the new one has a boken sunroof. (I'm a pretty exciting guy, huh? ) Thanks
  14. Well, I guess I'll try yanking on the cable to free it up. If that doesn't work I'll try a warm coat. Thanks for you help.
  15. Thanks wwest, I'll give it a try. Is it difficult to replace the sevomotor?
  16. Thanks for your comments: Yes the heat NEVER comes on. I've already cleaned the sensor. I'll follow your advice SK. Hopefully I'll find something
  17. I'm hoping someone can help me with my next step. I have a 94 Ls400. There is no heat unless I turn off the a/c choose a lower vent, turn system to Max Hot and wait about 15 minutes. I then get a trickle of warm air. All of the a/c codes are fine. When I manually move the heater control valve either completely open or closed the system stays cold. I can manually move the cable about an inch in and then out, I even lubricated the cable. When I have someone change the temp from cold to hot or hot to cold, the cable does not move at all. This is with the a/c on or off. Any suggestions? Thanks, in advance.
  18. My '94 has a similar problem, except it happens all of the time: The heater blows cold forever. If I turn off A/C, turn heat selector to "HOT", fan to low, select the air on feet/defroster button, then wait about five minutes the heat will get warm.
  19. My 1994 was doing the same thing. It was related to the A/C cycling on and off. Cleaning the throttle body fixed the problem. Good Luck
  20. I'm on a business trip, so I can't verify this fact. She was able to drive 1/2 mile coughing and jerking and parked the car in the driveway. How can I go about fixing this problem when I get home?
  21. Thanks for the info: I have a 94 california LS400 stalling when the A/C cycles off or is switched off. I'm being told it's the throttle body also, but it has been happening since the car was new. Is what your saying relavent to my problem. SKPerformance, can you please comment?
  22. One more set of instructions. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/EFI/throttlebody.html
  23. I found some good instructions. Check them out: http://www.lextreme.com/tb.htm Good Luck!
  24. Thanks for all of your help! A little more information: This has been happening since I purchased the car three years ago (98K, it now has 150K). In reviewing the service records with the dealer, this problem has continually been reported since 15K. Does it still make sense that it is the Throttle Body? If so, $1300.00 is a lot to have it replaced. Is it that hard to clean? Can I do it myself? or should I find someone willing to clean it? Thanks!
  25. Help: My car runs great all of the time except when I turn off the A/C or the A/C cycles off. As soon as I come to an idle after turning off the A/C the car stalls, every time. It starts right back up, no problems. The RPM's drop to almost nothing, it takes a slight glup then dies. Any suggestions? Thanks!
