  1. I just mounted the Britax Marathon in the 3rd row seat over the weekend for my 2.5 year old boy and it fits fine. Instead of using Latch hook, you have to use the seatbelt and the tether hook on the cargo floor. I also have a Britax Roundabout, which is slightly smaller than the Marathon, it should work better than the Marathon. I preferred the Britax seat for its quality and safety. John
  2. I bought the Prius kit and it worked fine in my 2005 GX470. Hello, Did you buy the "2004-2006" Prius kit correct? I am considering buy it and want to make sure I buy the right kit. Thanks. John
  3. I purchased the Lexus Sirius module and the ES330 fit kit from the dealer. You can also purchase these parts from www.lexus-parts.com under the ES330 section. For 2005 GX470 the ES330 or the LX470(2005 only) will work with the GX470. Once installed you can control the SAT function through the steering wheel and voice activation, and of course through the touch screen. Starmate Replay is only for my Mercedes only because Mercedes OEM kit isn't available for 2001 and 2002 models. My dealer was going to charge me $529 for the parts and installation but I decided to do it myself because I like to tinker with my car :) It took me about couple of hours for the installation. There is a link for removing the NAV at the www.clublexus.com Once you pull out the NAV unit it is a simple "plug-n-play" installation. John
  4. I had the Sportster for couple of weeks and decided to go with the Lexus OEM Sirius system. I mounted the Sportster right next to the suspension setting control and it just made my car seem cluttered. Plus the music through FM was not impressive at all. The Lexus Sirius module sounds so much better. I do have to make a comment about the docking station. After 3 weeks of use(2 weeks in Lexus and 1 week in the Benz), connection between the Sportster and docking station became loose. Couple of minutes after I insert the Sportster it would lose antenna connection and I would have to press down on the Sportster to get antenna signal. But it would come loose again. This all happened when the Sportster is in lock position. Luckily I bought the Sportster from Crutchfield and I returned it and I now have the Startmate Replay for couple of weeks now. No problem at all plus it is smaller and more compact. John
  5. No, I installed it myself. The Sirius receiver is $200 and the Es330 kit is $169 and I got them from the dealer. You can get the ES330 kit from www.lexus-parts.com for $100. The ES330 kit comes in 2 type; NAV/ML and regular. I got the NAV/ML ES330 kit. BTW, the Sirius aftermarket antenna is about $35. I saw the installation instruction for the LX kit(which is compatible also) and I believe the ES330 is whole lot easier than then LX kit. Instruction is also posted on www.lexus-parts.com. John Not sure. But www.lexus-parts.com also have the XM kit under the ES330 section. John
  6. This is what the NAV SAT screen looks like after installation. I used the ES330 fit kit and Sirius module. I didn't use the windshield mount antenna that came with the kit. I use the Sirius aftermarket antenna for the roof mount. John
  7. I have been saying this for some time now, phonebook transfer is disabled in Verizon Motorola phones. It is even stated on the Verizon website. I would love to see someone hack the software to enable the OBEX but I am not holding my breath for it. This is the reason I got a cheap Sony GSM phone from Ebay for phonebook transfer. My Verizon Motorola E815 works very well with the GX470 and no complaint except the phonebook thing. John
  8. Once I download the phonebook from the Sony phone, I choose my Moto E815 phone as default phone in the setting page and now I use my Moto handsfree. Remember when I download the phonebook I use the Sony phone as the default phone but switch to the Moto E815 once the phonebook is loaded. Once the car is in motion on the "1 touch dial" is available and not the phonebook. When the phonebook is downloaded you can choose up to 16 numbers for the "1 touch dial" function. I only wish the Lexus has the voice recognition dialing in my Mercedes. I guess you can't have it all. Regarding the sim-card. Without it the phone is inoperable. In fact it wouldn't even allow the phone to boot up. My advice is to get a cheap Sony GSM phone from Ebay and use it for download purpose. John ← ← Yes, you can only use the "1 touch dial" when the car is in motion. Also once the phonebook is downloaded into the NAV unit, you can use any phone to dial. If Cingular or T-Mobile have good coverage then it is much easy to sign up with one of them and purchase their bluetooth phone. I don't have that choice and this is way I had to do it this way. Before you march into the store to purchase any phone, please go to www.lexus.com to find out which phone is 100% compatible. Good luck. John
  9. I don't think so. It is done through the phone only. Go to Ebay and buy an inexpensive Sony T610 phone for phonebook downloading. Also don't forget to get a sim-card( prepaid one will do) or else your Sony GSM phone is useless. John

  11. Verizon bluetooth phone will not allow any phone number to be downloaded at all. The Cingular and T-Mobile bluetooth phones will allow phone numbers/book download. Both companies use the GSM phones and require the user to insert a small chip/sim-card into the phone from your provider for the phone to be functional. The sim-card can be bought with a regular monthly account or a prepaid card. I bought a "unlock"( which means I can use any provider) Sony T610 phone from Ebay for $65 and a T-Mobile prepaid sim-card for $15 on Ebay also. And by this method I download the phonebook which I input in the Sony phone. You don't need to use Verizon if other providers have adequate coverage in your area. I have to use Verizon because others have very poor coverage in the rural area. John
  12. I am using Verizon Motorola E815 with my GX470. Everything is compatible except you CAN'T do phonebook transfer. Verizon disabled the OBEX profile and thus not allow any data transfer. To overcome this problem I bought an cheap Sony T610 GSM phone and a T-Mobile sim-card off Ebay to do my phonebook download, and it works wonderfully. I have to use Verizon because it has the best coverage in my area. Personally I preferred the Sony and Nokia GSM phones but the coverage is quite poor in my area. John
