  1. Hello all Recently I have been noticing noises coming from the dash in my 98 GS, and just now discovered that the noises are directly related to the climate control unit. It sounds like there is some sort of electric door that keeps opening and closing and at some points sounds like there are three or four of them doing it simultaneously. I held the Auto, and recirculate buttons while turning the key on, and it came back with no error codes, I then hit the recirculate button to have it run through the tests, and still nothing. After playing with the unit for a while, I found that it will not make the noises when the temp is set at one extreme or the other, but does anywhere in the middle regardless of mode, fan speed ect. I have tried unplugging the battery for 30 mins to reset everything, but the problem is still there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  2. I lost the screw for the key out of my GS, so I brought it to a dealer, and they replaced the screw for free within a couple of minutes. Maybe something to try.
  3. I bought my 98 GS300 from a private seller, and it came with One valet key only. I called them and asked about the situation, and they informed me I would just need a master key cut using the valet key. When I brought it in, they informed me that a new ECU was required since I did not have the master, and they told me right then they would give me a one time free replacement on it. One week later, I brought it back in, and everything was completed in about 2 hours for $259.00.
  4. Never really thought of that, I will try scraping that out with a screw driver or something as soon as I get a chance. Thanks fo the input.
  5. I purchased a 1998 gs300 recently, and it came with one key. I found that this key is the valet key, because it will not fit in the trunk or glovebox lock. The dealership told me I would have to replace the computers in the car if I wanted to get a master key for the car. Is this true, or can I just get an uncut master key, and program it to work with the car? Any help with this issue would help me out tremendously!
  6. I recently had the back driver side window of my GS300 busted out. I replaced the window myself to save a couple of bucks, but now when I roll the window up on auto, it gets to the top, and goes back down. I believe this is a safety feature for pinch protection. Simply holding the up button without going up to auto will close the window fine. Is there something special I have to do?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
