  1. I'm interested im peoples impressions of this dealership. I've had good luck with them and boght my 2010 RX350 at a very reasonable price. My sister had a very unLexus like experience with them trying to buy a 2012 RX350. They have offered to make it right...but want full list price for a 2012. I also understand that Lexus of Waltham, MA consistently beats their pricing. Anyone care to share their experience either here or via email??
  2. I have had 3 RX's. (2004 RX300,2006 RX400H, and 2010 RX350). I ran all on 87 octane ethanol blends. I have had no issues ever, and I put about 80,000 mi on the cars before I replace them. The choice is yours, but that is my experience. -Dave
  3. The factory mud flaps are an easy install. If you can use a screwdriver and drill (optional),you can install them with ease.
  4. Do you have a radar detector in the car? I had a similar problem, and finally determined that the radar detector interfered with the GPS signal if it were positioned too close to the dash. I had to move it higher up on the winshield. If you have a radar detector...try removing it to confirm.
  5. Only if you set the code, Otherwise no code. ;) why reset your moonroof ???? just run it thru a full cycle and it should reset itself the power windows have the same procedure but you have to cycle them from each indivual window if your batter goes dead and or / if you disconnect it - you have to reset roof and windows manually as described above The moonroof won"t open. It will tilt up and down, but it doesn't return to the closed position automatically. I can close it manually, but I get the 'moonroof open' error and chime each time the door is opened....very annoying. It will not open or cycle through to reset...only tilts. I think the jam protection might have tripped. In any case, I need to try to reset it before I take it to the dealer for repair. I read on the RX 350 forum that a disconect and reset has fixed this type of problem for others. -Dave Well...I reset the power to the moon roof, and all is well know. I chose to remove the fuse to the moon roof, (30A located in the fusepanel under the dash on the drivers side) instead of disconnecting the Aux Battery, so as not to loose all the other presets (radio, seats, windows, and who knows what else). I think this is the easiest way...so if you're having issues with the moon roof opening or closing, give it a try. -Dave

  7. I need to disconnect the Aux battery to reset my moonroof. The dealer says there is no security code for the radio...but I want to be sure before I disconnect the battery. Anyone know for sure?? It wouldn"t be the first time the dealer was wrong, and I don't want any problems with the radio/sound system. Dave
  8. I recently did all 4 brakes(and rotors) on my 2006 RX400h.... 72,000 miles.
  9. This is the process we used from a prior thread on accessing the overrides on the RX400h nav system: Select MENU, VOLUME on the VOLUME Screen: Press and hold the left top corner for one second Press and hold the bottom left corner for one second Press and hold the left top corner for one second Press and hold the bottom left corner for one second SCREEN should transition to the overrides and show GPS mid screen left column SELECT GPS to show current number and status of satelites. Hope this helps. Ken Well here's the latest on my GPS signal strength issue. I spent some time trying to isolate any variables that might be involved. The problem turns out to be my radar detector! It appears to be interfering with the GPS signals. If I unplug it all reception problems go away. It's sensative to location. I originally had it on the lower windshield just right of the Nav console (close to the dashboard...low profile location). By moving it up on the windshield ~ 10" the problems virtually dissappear. It reads more birds and signal strength increases dramatically....so I'm still able to use the radar detector, it's just in a more visable position...further up the windshield. The radar detector is an Escort 7500 that I've had for years. I'm going to try to verify the frequencies for good measure. I never would have guessed that the radar detector was causing the problems. Thanks for the assistance, Dave
  10. I've had no problems with the 400h, except a weak or intermittent GPS signal to the Nav System. It runs great, and I beleive it is quieter now...The noise from the electric motors/charging system when slowing seems to have diminished. There was more of a 'turbine sound' when it was new. I average 28-30 Mpg in mixed commuting... if I keep it at 70 or below on the highway and drive for economy. I commute ~100mi/day. It drops to ~24Mpg in the cold weather. The mpg will drop considerably if I drive for fun and enjoy the rapid acceleration (I don't do that much with gas ~$3.00/gal). I changed to synthetic oil, but I don't think it's affected fuel economy appreciably...I do prefer synthetic, and run it in all my vehicles.
  11. It's not normal (and your dealer should know that). I have 25K on mine and they are beginning to show signs of wear. I'll probably have to replace them at 30-35K. I don't care for the Goodyear tires. I don't feel any 'performance' advantage, and they wear quickly and don't perform very well in the snow. I like the Michelins. Swapped to them on my 2004 RX330 when the Goodyears wore out. I'll do the same on the RX400H. David
  12. The dealer was unable to verify the problem when it was in for routine maintenance. I did want it documented that I had reported the problem. Next time I'm going to insist that they keep the car for a while. The only feedback I got was that they couldn't duplicate the issue, no error codes were logged, and they re-set some of the 'basic settings'...whatever that means. As I said, I'm not new to Nav systems, so I know what it should be doing. They didn't seem to understand the Nav system, and how to debug it. I didn't ask for the antenna info at that time. I live in NH, and they are the only Lexus dealer in the state. I could go to a MA dealer if necessary. I work in MA.
  13. ***Cross posted to the Hybrid Forum*** Does anyone know how to read the GPS Information screen (hidden menu)? I've been having problems with the navigation system intermittently loosing it's way . The dealer has been no help, as the problem is intermittent (but happens frequently), and this seems to fall outside their area of expertice....so I'm going to have to try to localize the problem to point them in the right direction. The GPS light is frequently off on the Map screen (no GPS lock). When I look at the GPS information screen, there doesn't appear to be any signal being received (LVL?), or not enough channels to plot a position. I suspect a bad antenna, or something causing poor signal reception. The problem is more frequent with bad weather (cloudy skys), but it renders the nav system almost useless, as I never know when it's going to loose its way. Where are the antenna's located? I know there's an external one on the rear roof top...but I beleive there's another also. Location of any antenna connectors (that might be loose)? I don't have any routing diagrams. This is the 3rd vehicle I've had with a nav system (ML430, RX330, and currently an RX400h)... There were no issues with the previous systems. Any help greatfully appreciated. David
