  1. thanks man, i swear i was just on that site too, must have overlooked it...
  2. Hey guys, i was doing my weekly search of ebay looking for cool and new things and i saw custom painted eyelids for my gen es300, but of course they have no pictures of an es300, they have a focus... so i was wondering if anyone has eyelids installed on their 97-01 es and could post a pic cause i think they would probably look pretty cool, or if youve seen them and you have an opinion please let me know... thanks all!
  3. yup.... it was the battery, only 1 year old but who knows where the previous owner got it. Who in minnesota buys a battery with only 450CCA!!!! advance tested the battery, said it was completely ruined, luckily a friend works there i got a new 700CCA platinum battery for $55, and needless to say things are good again, thanks for all your guys' help as usual! -rob
  4. the car wont start at all, it never get to the point where it would crank, just makes a really strange beeping sound and the needles and cluster flicker... i just tried again, and it started to do a 2 second loop where it beep and flicker the needles, stop, then do it again constantly, the only thing that made it stop was opening the hood, do you think i should start by removing the battery cables, would that do anything to help? thanks guys...
  5. Well it is -10 here in windy minnesota with a wind chill of -31, and my lexus has to sit outside, this is its first winter out of a garage... anyways, i had a remote starter put in about 2 months ago, and everything has been fine. this morning i drove to class, came back then as i attempted to go back out, i used my remote starter, got into my car, and about every 5 seconds, the car tries to start, but instead makes a weird clicking noise that come out of the dash area and all the needles flicker... when you try to use the key, it does the same thing, i dont believe it is even letting the starter engage, so i would assume there is a problem with my remote starter does anyone know what is going on, or has this happened to anyone before???? if it matters, my ES is a 97 and my remote starter is a Viper 160VX. any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks again all! -rob
  6. Hey there, I just put Infinity Reference speakers all throughout, no new amp or anything, just the speakers, stock sounded good, but these new ones sound amazing, in my '97 they are 6.5s all around, couldnt tell ya what yours are, but im sure most of the reference series speakers sound equally amazing. on ebay speakers are pretty cheap, its the install that would cost ya, unless you can do it yourself. i used this link to figure out what fit... Infitity Car Audio Fit Guide just my two cents, good luck
  7. Hey thanks guys for all the advice, thankfully my mechanic uncle was in town the other day, he looked at it, part of the wheel well shielding(for lack of a actual part description) had come unscrewed from the engine compartment, causing my wheel to hit it and make that crazy noise. needless to say, 2 minutes and 1 screw later, everything is fine once again. i really appreciate the help
  8. Hey all, was hoping someone far smarter than i could help me figure out what might be going on with my car. There is a noise that my car (97 es300) makes usually when turning left or when going over something fairly bumpy, and it comes from the left front wheel well area. It sounds to me like the tire is hitting the top of the wheel well, but i cant be sure. i figured it is probably a suspension problem, but im probably wrong. if it makes a difference, i dont have the regular suspension system on the car, not the adjustable one. Been looking around for something in past topics but didnt really find much that applied I just got my car recently, so i know very little about my new lexus, so any advice would help I really appreciate all your guys' help, thanks in advance
  9. Hey justin, i was wondering if you ever figured out what was going on with your car, i think mine is doing the same thing so if you have any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks man
  10. Hey guys, i am new to the forum, been reading a lot about the es, i just recently bought a 97 with 85k and i bought a ram air intake online, but during installation there was a single hose that did not have a place to be connected on the new intake. the hose was connected to the stock heatshield/intake box and leads to a small brown plastic piece underneath the engine cover. since it is a very small hose, it doesnt seem like it would be a big deal that it isnt connected but i didnt want to chance it and i figured prob a few of you knew what it does... dont want to blow up the engine on my new car :o thanks guys, hope you can help! - Rob
