  1. no starter relay on the LX or LC........this is not a ford thank god :) intake manifold has to come off to get the starter out, prolly a 4 hour or so job. I am ordering the Lexus fisch, that way I can cross check to make sure the LC and LX use the same part.......so I can buy my stuff thru Toyota instead of Lexus
  2. LOL guys.......had a feeling I might see some folks I know :) John
  3. There is someone over at ih8mud that had 180K on his orignal t-belt! really WAY to far IMOP but 100-120k really should be fine when I did my 2000 LC at 90K, I did the belt, waterpump, tensioners, crank/cam seals and some other stuff.........all for under 1K. the t-belt looked like new. glad I did the waterpump as it was just starting to leak at the shaft and the weep hole, pump was around $100.........money well spent IMOP John
  4. rebuilt parts store lifetime starters are normaly junk, a rebuilt just has the bad part replaced........and you will be replacing it for a lifetime ;) reman, they go thru the whole unit and replace every wear part. I ONLY use OEM Toyota parts(whoops, forgot this is Lexus ;) if it has -84 on the end of the part # its a reman........and is good or better then a new one. John
  5. a scan tool is used I beleive and they can turn it off. there is also an Lexus upgrade to this problem, something about a different kind of joint in the colume.
  6. I agree, thats prolly the best solution, and Christo is a great guy. but another option would be to swap to a set of 80 series LC stock springs(which I hear Lexus did on many of the LX450s's) and shocks(OEM LC shocks are cheap and pretty darn good) Can find used 80 series springs for free all over the place. Me I run OME shocks and springs on almost all my Cruisers, I LOVE the stuff......and they are local to me ;) John
  7. try http://www.nix99.com/ also maybe http://www.cruiserparts.net/ James has Lexus stuff sometimes. also Marv at Spector Off Road might be able to help you out http://www.sor.com/ I am sure I will think of somemore John
