  1. I haven't received any serious inquiries from local owners. I'm wondering if I put this topic in the wrong section. My offer to do the new lexus (any newer model) for free. It really doesn't get any better than that. If anyone is nervous about having their gauges taken apart, I am a professional doing gauge modifications for many, many, many, many cars and motorcycles for the last 3 years. I am also a certified mobile electronics technician. I have run a car audio/video business for the last 7 years. I guarantee all my work for as long as you own the car. This should reassure those hesitant to have custom work done. I'm very, very good at what I do. :) -Paul
  2. Absolutely! Here is a pic of an aftermarket unit I modded. This is a Pioneer DEH-P4800MP. I don't like to mod double din touch screen units, because they are very sensitive (no, I didn't learn the hard way, I just know). :) Just let me know what kind of radio you want to get. -Paul
  3. I did some work on a 2002 M5, and the way the needles are set up, makes it very difficult to disassemble them.
  4. Yes, you are correct, Lexus is a little tricky to work on. I did a gauge conversion on a 2004 SC400 (the gauges have twist bulbs in them, and the needles have built-in LED's (non-replaceable). Here are a few pics. (Click on the picture to view a full-size image) I will wait until I do work on a local Lexus before I offer my services to those out of town. I currently do a lot of scion and motorcycle gauge conversions for people all over the country (a lot). I have a 1 day turnaround time for these people, so downtime is minimal. I've had a few PM's, but nothing is set yet, so the offer for a free local swap is on the table. :) -Paul
  5. Thanks, I'm glad you like my work! For the first mod, I would like to do work on a local car. I do mod gauges from all over the country (a lot of gauges for scions and motorcycles). I have a 1 day turnaround time for out-of-town customers. I'll ship the day after I receive the gauges/parts. This way, downtime is minimal. I will be offering my services to those that are not local as soon as I get everything worked out on a local car. This way I can have the circuit done, removal instructions set (for those that need it), and plenty of pictures for my customers to choose from. :)
  6. Hi Everyone, I would like to introduce myself. I run a car audio/video business in Orange County, CA, and I have been doing LED conversions on cars and motorcycles for over 1 year. I have been doing countless scion gauge conversions, and have come up with some very custom work. I'd like to offer my services to you guys for Lexus cars. I would like to know if anyone would be interested in getting their gauge converted to different color LED's, and would like to stop by. I am VERY good with electronics, and circuits, so I am definitely up for the job. I have run a car audio/video business for over 7 years now, and I am a certified mobile electronics installer, so working on cars, and electronics is definitely nothing new to me. I don't have any pics on my website of gauge conversions for a Lexus at the moment, but here are some pics of my work on the Scion TC. I'm located in central Orange Country, CA (Tustin). I'm willing to do the first conversion on a local Lexus for free (must be a newer model). Thanks! -Paul
  7. I would check the connection to the speaker. There is no fuse for speakers, but I guess it's possible it became disconnected. If it's plugged in the speaker, then test the speaker. Get a battery (9V or 12V) and quickly tap the connections of the speaker. If it pops, then the speaker works, and must be a wiring issue. I have more possibilities, but try these. (It could be the output is bad at the head unit too, but we can test that later).
  8. I'm not able to send you a PM (it says you have it turned off, or your inbox is full). Contact me for pricing. -Paul
  9. Pioneer and Alpine have always been a favorite of mine as far as clarity and performance. Your RX 350 has 6½" component speakers, and I would recommend replacing them with the same type of speaker. Component speakers give a much more dynamic sound, as well as sound staging. Here are a few suggestions for 6½" Component speaker replacements. Option 1: Pioneer has a new line of speakers out called their PRS line. It is their highest line speakers which sound very good. I recommend replacing with Pioneers PRS Series 6¾" Component Speakers. The model number is TS-C720PRS. Here is a link to Pioneer's product page. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/p...1263623,00.html I would recommend amplifying these speakers with Pioneer's 4 channel amplifier - Model Number GM-6200F. Here is a link to Pioneer's product page. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/p...etailsComponent Option 2: Alpine has a set of similar 6½" Component Speakers which also sound phenomenal. The model number is SPR-17LS. They are Alpine's Type-R speaker (top of 3 lines - with the exception of their Type-X line - which is for custom staged vehicles and show cars at $3,500 per pair http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/products/prod...g=en&tab=F) Here is a link to Alpine's Type-R Component Speakers product page. http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/products/prod...?model=SPR-17LS I would suggest amplifying these speakers with this Alpine amp. Model number MRP-F450. Here is a linke to Alpine's product page. http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/products/prod...ng=en&tab=F If you want to follow this setup with a subwoofer to complete the system, I can recommend a few options. You probably don't want to be setting off car alarms with your stereo :D , but I can recommend something nice to give that extra emphasis with your music (nothing that will overwhelm your speakers). I will PM you with pricing information, or you can PM me or e-mail me at MobileVideoSpecialists@cox.net. -Paul
  10. Aloha! You don't need a mounting bracket. Just use the factory mounting bracket. If you need a trim panel, most all local shops can make a decent one out of ABS. If you are using a single din unit, and need a filler below, you can get a universal pocket (available at most all stereo shops).
  11. I'm a little to far from you, but I'm a great installer! B) But I don't know anyone in the Fresno area
  12. That's a custom piece. The radio and center channel speaker shown in the pictures in the link you posted just mount normally using the factory radio bracket. The trim piece was just fabricated (probably out of abs) to make it look nice.
  13. I have been doing a lot of LED mods on xboxes and cars, and I wanted to know what the market would be like for LED mods to the instrument cluster and the dome light. I could change the lights in the instrument cluster to be any color (white, blue, green, yellow, red, UV), and the dome light. Let me know what you guys think. :)
  14. what does the front look like? did you smoke the lights, or is it stock. bad !Removed! ride!!!
  15. You saw that episode of mythbusters too? :P
