Acetone is a decent octane booster but unless you're running forced induction or higher than stock compression, it won't do anything for you. There is a thread or two about this over at is300.net if anyone is interested. Russ

There's a '96 GS300 at Arian Enterprises at 13601 Independence Blvd, in Indian Trail, NC that's been advertised for a while. I'm in Florida and want to get some info on it before traveling over 500 miles to check it out. Of course the dealer says it's nice and Carfax says no problems... I've been internet shopping for a 96/97 GS300 (never actually seen a '97 for sale) but I like the rear lights on the '93-'95 better. Will the center Aristo or GS300 plastic panel fit the 96/97 deck lid or are the deck lids different? Do the earlier middle panels match the later lights? thanks in advance! Russ

Hello all, Other than the obvious styling change of the rear lights and the switch to 5 speed auto with the '96 GS300, are there any other differences? I've been looking for a low mileage '95-'97 GS in Florida for the past couple months and actually like the looks of the earlier rear on the lighter colored cars. Was there any performance increase with the 5 speed? I don't see many mods available for the first gen anymore but was planning torque converter upgrade to help with off-the-line performance and possibly intake/exhaust if available. Thanks in advance.
