  1. Going up to 19 inch wheels means:

    1)  Possibly a harder time finding tires that fit your rims.

    2)  These tires are usually more expensive.

    3)  You'll have to run tire pressures at nearly max in order to ensure that you don't dent your wheels (if you hit a rock or pothole).

    4)  Potholes and any road irregularities will be your enemy.

    5)  Smaller sidewalls means stiffer ride (generally speaking).

    6)  Larger wheels CAN mean a heavier wheel.  Heavier wheel will affect performance.

With that being said, my personal choice would be a 18 inch wheel.

Great advise. I appreciate all of your advise.

  2. I know why you want the 1997 bumper. Because of the opening in the front grill, and the side skirts. Good taste. check out onderground for the body kits. The hottest one, in my opinion is the V-speed kit. It looks niiiice. Also, on ebay they have these same kits for a lot cheaper. Ebay has the oem kit as well if you don't want a very noticeable kit.

    Have fun and good luck,

    Anthony.

    thanx for the help

  3. classic symptoms of lower control arm bushing failure. you have 3 options:replacment arm about 350-500 bucks,  daizen bushings, valmos bushings i would recomend if you dont want to pay the price of the arm because daizen bushings are polyurethane and they need greasing every year or every good rain.

Thanx alot. how much does it cost to replace the almos bushings. and wheres the cheapest place to find them.

  4. Hello, I'm a new guy here and have a question. I have a 1993 SC400 and have to change the wheels because the factory chrome that it came with is almost gone. It's peeling off everthing. Anyway, if I'm gonna buy new wheels I want to go bigger. I did a search on this forum and I had some helpful advise but I want something definite. I want the staggered look with the 19x8.5 in the front and 19x9.5 in the back. Also I would like it to have a 3.5" lip in the rear and 2.5 lip in the front. Will this setup effect the drive and smoothness of this vehicle. I really love the way it drives now and I don't want that to suffer alot. I know its not gonna be the same but I don't want it to drive like a tank either. I'm also open for any advise about other sizes that may be better. By the way, I didn't modd the suspension. The vehicle is fully stock. I found these on ebay and they look pretty cool http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW

  5. Hey, I'm brand spanking new to this forum and I would just like to say that you guys and gals have answered plenty of my questions in other topics found on this forum. Anyway,,,,, Every time I start my 1993 sc400 in the morning and turn out of my driveway, I get this popping sound that seems like its coming from the axle or something. When I'm driving everything is cool. Just when I'm turning or backing up in the morning while turning. I could probably live with it but just dont want it to get worse.

Aw man,,,,, 18 views and no replies? I guess I'm the only one with this problem.

I have the same problem. It seems to happen when there's significant weight transfer to the front of the car - under braking or when the wheels are cranked over and I give it a little gas. Someone here mentioned worn strut mounts, I was thinking the control arm bushings which have been identified as a frequent wear item, but no one's mentioned symptoms.

I think your right. I asked my mechanic yesterday and he said it might be the control arm bushings.

  8. Hey, I'm pretty new and have been searching on this forum for anyone who has the same problem I have but I had no luck. I have a 1993 Sc400 and the leather is getting cardboard hard on the rear seats headrest. Its even getting wrinkled and textured looking. No rips or tears though. I did find that lexol helps out on this forum but its been a week of using it and its still hard.
