  1. the top is up, but the mechanism apparently did not fully finish, as the windows will not "one touch" operate and the red light is still on. worse, it will not move (go down) either, the top just does not move and the "beeping" continues when the car is put into gear. from what i see here the cause could be a switch, a hinge alignment issue or a defective hinge. i see the cost is shown to be 5-7 thousand from dealers on the forum. i am not certain which part may remedy the issue (the left hinge is apparently mentioned often). does any one here have experience with this issue and what can you suggest a solution, and if possible the part number of a possible replacement part which will cure the problem. i have the hinge part number, it is almost impossible to find new (app. $3,200), used re available on e bay. obviously i am in dire need of help.
  2. having just purchased an 02 with 60k on the clock, i looked at numerous ads before my purchase. from what i saw on the "car fax" info and as set forth on the service schedule, a timing belt appears to be part of the 90,000 mile service.
  3. just purchased a 2002. 1) (REALLY STUPID) if i purchased a spare, as i see a few on ebay, is there a problem stowing it in the place provided in the trunk? i ask because i saw something in the forum about a possible issue with the top being lowered? 2) if i need to use the spare, will the existing lug nuts work or are different ones possibly required ( i assume the doughnut will be the necessary diameter, etc.)? 3) i hate wheel locks, without looking i assume one nut requires the key, where (if possible) can i purchase a matching non locking lug to replace the locking one?
