  1. Shortly after taking delivery of the car I began to notice on an intermittent basis a 2-3 second pause when I attempted to accelerate from a low speed to a higher one or from a stop. After focusing on the circumstances in which it arose, I realized that it occurred most often on city streets when I was attempting to accelerate out of a slow turn and almost stop or drive up a residential hill, or simply to move away from a light without coming to a complete stop . It happens less after completely stopped but does exibit the same problem. After attempting a turn from a slowed position, putting pressure on the accelerator, and experiencing a delay in acceleration that nearly caused me to be broadsided. Appears that transmission either does not downshift and is still in higher gear or shifts too early and then let my foot off of the accelerator and reaccelerate there is a 3-4 second delay and then it drops down to lower gear eventually after 3 or 4 seconds. and accelerates. Happens more often after turning right, but also left as well on a less frequent basis
  2. I now have a 2004 RX330 and getting about 18 or 19 MPH and considering a RX400H. Does anyone know if Lexus will change the RX-400 body style for 2009 form 2008? I do not want to get a 2008 if it is the same body style as 2004-2008 and it will change shortly. Willem :D
  3. Lexus GS 300 I am conteplating buying a new GS 300, but this will be the first time I will own a rear wheel vehicle in over 20 years. My concern is the snow and traction. Has anybody owned a GS 300 with TRAC and driven it in the snow. Please provide you opinion on how the balance & Traction Control compares with Front wheel drive. Presently, I have a Toyota Avalon and a Chrysler Concord that I am satisfied when it comes to the snow and traction. I live in PA and had similar winter last year. I remember when I had to add weight in the trunk to my RWT car, but as mentioned I have not had a RWT vehicle for 20 years, especially with Traction control. My friend in Germany who owns a BMW 325 has told me he has not had an issue with the new traction control and the well-balanced BMW. This will be my wife's car so I just want to make sure before I buy it, willem119@comcast.net
