  1. Exact same scenario happened to me. Heard same from dealer. My 400h was under 50k, so under warranty; and therefore let em have at it. Didn't cost me a cent and took less than a day to do. It may be same for you. So you could get a new stereo for free. I doubt a second opinion will be free.
  2. I have an iphone and the phone works well (calling out and receiving) with my 400h. However, you cannot play the ipod through the speaker system, nor are you able to transfer your phone book to the car from your iphone (though numbers already in the car's phonebook work). So it isn't perfect...
  3. So, I take this to mean I should never use this when descending a mountain road covered in snow... correct? But does it matter if it is better to be in B or D as you descend slowly and carefully down a snow covered mountain road? I had been taught in the past that low gear in traditional cars/trucks is better than D in this situation-- so does this correlate to my AWD hybrid, no, or is this info incorrect?
  4. But keep in mind that this is a FWD vehicle and downshifting to attain engine braking can be fraught with TERROR should the roadbed be unexpectedly slippery. Additionally remember that engine braking can reduce the functionality of ABS to nil... So, I take this to mean I should never use this when descending a mountain road covered in snow... correct?
  5. I feel your pain.. I did this to my Rx300 years ago only a few days after I got it-- only it didn't get stuck (ouch!!). It hit the metal bar which hangs low when the garage door is open. Anyway, when I got my rx400h, I was perfectly aware of the garage door thing. Here I some things I discovered. 1. I can open the backdoor if the garage door is closed. The metal bar which hangs low when the garage door is open isn't there for it to hit. THe car door opens almost straight up so it won't hit the closed garage door. I have just enough room behind my car to remove groceries, etc. 2. If I have to have the garage door open-- I open it manually (not with the auto button!) and let it come to gently rest against the bar and then use a towel to go between the garage door and the back door at the point of contact. Now, of course, this is my garage/garage door-- it may not work for yours. When this happened to my 300, I had them buff out the scratches and it made them much less prominent without having to get an expensive repair (hope your car isn't black!!) Sorry, dude, but this isn't your dealers fault. But I do feel your frustration, been there-- done that!!
  6. Ouch-- our dealer has sold more than 30 at last check in SLC, UT. I think I got #33 one month ago.
  7. I too, have noticed slightly more acceleration noise in my new 400h--- but I'll tell you what--- when you hit the accelerator, the car actually moves--- unlike my old 300. I will take the brisker acceleration with the minimal acceleration noise rather than poor pick-up anyday. I am very pleased with my new car so far.
  8. Because those hooks hold 4# maximum-- I find them useless.
  9. I have to admit-- I miss my cargo net!!! I had actually kept the old cargo net from my last Lexus-- but couldn't get the upper aspects of the net to effectively attach to anything. But to avoid drilling etc-- I purchased a pop up "cargo organizer" from Creekside It folds flat but then pops up when needed and his stiff "walls" so it effectively holds grocery bags and prevents things from rolling out . I like that it folds down so I can use it only when I need it. It cost me $59 There are cheaper versions of organizers, but the flimsy walls make them useless-- (I took that one back immediatlely).
  10. Thankyou so much for the helpful replies. I really like this phone, my service, so I think I will stick with my v710. So it sounds like I will I be able to dial out with the Voice Command service from Lexus---(when the car is moving? or only when stopped ---like if using on-screen service). Thank you again.
  11. I am in the process of getting a new cell phone and currently have Verizon (but my contract is up, so I can go with anyone)-- Re: coverage areas I use, only Verizon and Cingulair are really options. I am aware of the limitations with Verizon (no OBEX) and the use of Lexus BLuetooth system--- i.e. no phone book transfer, but I guess I am trying to decide how much of a limitation is it really. I have been happy with Verizon. I am waiting for my 400h but need a new phone now. I just want to be sure I'm not disappointed later. Can I use all other features of the Lexus Bluetooth with a Verizon's Motorola V710? Can you enter phone numbers manually (with names) into the Lexus? I was also very intrigued by the recent post of the ebay cell phone/card transfer (you don't need service to do that??). Thankyou in advance for the decision making help.
