So do you think when the belt broke it whipped around and smacked the sensor? I'm not sure where it is and how I would know if it was damaged. I'm guessing you could see some broken stuff? oh yeah, how much did it cost you (about) Thanks Denny

I also had several Motorola's starting with "the brick" They are really durable phones and can take a lot of dropping. The problem which is probably gone is the batteries. They went dead quick. I had an Audiovox for awhile and it was excellent. Now I have had a couple of Kyrocera. They are great phones but they only last a little over a year (on a two year contract) before they start having problems. I use Verizon and they always fixed it for free. I still like the phone because I got 2 for $19.99. Regarding Cell phone carriers. I have to go with Verizon. My wife travels extensively and I do quite a bit myself. It works everywhere. Occasionally during peaked times you get "Verizoned" (a term my brother and I call the drops) but overall it has the bezt service from LA to NY. I had Alltel (sorry Ryan) for 10 years and they screwed up my bill every single month making me stay on the phone forever. Verizon has never screwed up my bill and have been very accomodating in all other aspects. My wife alos has a Blackberry with Verison and it is way cool. I looked a long time and am very happy with Verizon. I don't work for them by the way, I'm a teacher.

Too bad it has an automatic. Will you be able to stand that after having a stick? My truck and my Corolla both have 5 speeds and I prefer driving them (except in stop and go).

Using anything but synthetic is out of the question. I use Mobil 1, but Amsoil, Valvoline, Castrol, and Pennzoil are all just about the same. Using convential oil in a Toyota engine is not a good thing. As to filters? What do you think? I have been using a Fram and been hearing nothing good lately.

Well, I guess this is something Lexus is still working on. My 90 LS400 does the same thing but not so drastically. Normal breaking is fine yet under panic stopping (or at least hard braking) it does this. Very annoying. I'll bet there is a way to disconnect the ABS. NOT that I recommend doing that since it has saved me a couple of time in other cars, but rather becasue the Lexus ABS doesn't seem to be safe.

Check careful using your nose (or someone else's if you know someone with a good sniffer) and see if it is coolant or just water. If it is coolant, it is the heater core, if it is just water, it probably is the A/C condensation pan is draining insdie the car. This could be caused my the drain line clogged, cracked, or broken. You might as well open it up and do both at the same time. The parts probably aren't that much but it takes a little figuring out how to get to it. I knew one guy who about flipped out one time trying to change a heater core on a VW Jetta. Lotta yelling and bad language. Last possiblity that I can think of is a windshield leak. Has it ever been replaced?

you can! they go off with the key... Check with someone that works at one of those drive through light shows like they have at Christmas. There IS a way, something to do with turning on the parking lights before you turn on the car or something weird like that. Anyway, those dudes would know because they won't let you drive through them if your lights are on so they know how to get them off. You might have to wait but a lot of places have those drive through shows at Halloween

Hey 93. I have bought several things from tigerdirect.com I also know people who have bought computers from them. They are really easy to work with, bill correctly, deliver quickly, and are cheap. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about them.

I didn't know that about Saburu. I heard the WRXs are suppose to be very quick. I like watching the WRC Rally racing and even have the XBoX game. I have no problem with GM engines, I only ever had one to have a problem and that was a blown headgasket. For a 4 litre engine, the LS sure does quite well. Not a big block but still very powerful for the size.

If you want a fun car to drive to work, check out one of the Nissan Sentra SER Spec-V cars. Very quick good handling cars. Cheap. It is always hard trying to decide what to buy. I guess I've owned quite a few cars. Some have been great, others problems. My 70 Electra was perfect (until the accident anyway) while my 71 Electra was junk. Oh sure it ran to over 300,000 but with constant problems and repairs. For driving to work I'd buy a Corolla. Cheap and good. I love our Corolla, espcially at the gas station.

Whatever. In keeping with our off topic topic, I saw a Cadilac yesterday. It was somelike like and XLR . It was a small black sports car. Radical looking thing it was. I had a Cadillac for 300,000 miles. Not a bad car but till nothing compared to a Lexus. In spite of previous posts I will give DC somewhat of a point (without the Junk part). Geo=Saturn=Pontiac=Oldmobile=Buick=Cadillac and now even = Saab. They are pretty good cars for the most part (far better than Fords) but they are not great cars. They are just cars. Someone who is happy tooling around in an Oldsmobile just doesn't know any better. Hell, until I bought my Lexus, I thought they were just tricked out Camrys. Surprized me! I think it is great that we are able to talk about different cars. I think we should even have a seperate catagory like general discussion for it. Obviously we are all reading forums outside our areas anyway.

It doesn't sound abnormal to me. Starters draw a whole lot of current so the lightsare going to dim a little. You usually don't notice it because the light is usally off.

How do you adjust the throttle pressure sensor?

I use an Escort. Not a bad detector but after using one for over 20 years, I WISH I had a Valentine One the best readr detector, undisputed. They cost 395US and the hidden kit (which is very usful in Virginia) is even more. Still, who wants to get caught? One ticket and it pays for itself.

Say what you want about cloth seats but I like them. I like the cloth seats in my Caprice better than the leather in the Lexus. It's not that I don't like the leather, I just think the cloth is more comfortable. The leather still smells better though.

My radio has a security code. After I disconnected the battery it said SEC. I looked it up in the owners manual and luckily, the previous owner had written in pencil, the security code.

I had terrible luck with Interstate Batteries. I use Costco now. Cheap and great. Flanker, do you trust them enough that your alternator is bad? I never saw where you checked the voltage. It might just be a bad battery. I haven't found the dealerships diagnostics to be superior.
