  1. I figure that Lexus had to have inmproved the seats over the years. I have thought the seats in our 90 are uncomfortable from day one. I can never seem to get my position right. My wife on the other had loves them and thinks they are very comfortable.
  2. While I was in there I'd probably be inclined to change all of them. Bulbs are pretty cheap compared to the time it takes to get to them. Besides, bad bulbs often look black.
  3. Actually, I think that particular light is a low oil level light. It could be a little low since I haven't added any since the last oil change almost 5,000 miles ago. I use Mobil 1.
  4. My wife just called and said the yellow light with the oil can came on for about half a minute. She stopped and checked the oil and said it was down halfway between L and full. Sound normal for it to flash when 1/2qt. low?
  5. No, they probably won't expand to Arkansas. There is the Arkansas Wall after all... Wal-Mart
  6. Yeah I have to agree. For paint that isn't bad you can clay it out. When it gets really bad a buffer is the only answer because it would take you months to buff it out by hand. I am kind of at the point that I don't wax cars that require buffing. I have, but I don't like it because you can get swirls. Look at cars at traffic lights and you can see swirls done by someone who didn't know what they are doing. My 1,000 post Denny
  7. Nothing like the smooth feel of a freshly waxed car is there?
  8. I just bought a set of Dunlop Graspec II for my daughters car. She goes to school in Blacksburg, Va which is in the mountains and gets consdierable snow. I bought them from the tirerack.com. absolutely awesome. I ordered them Monday afternoon, and they were at my house on Wednesday. Perfect, mounted, balanced and delivered, cheap! They also have an excellent review section on which can be filtered. Great reviews from real poeple with the same car as you. Dependeding on where you live, different tires may be better for different situations. Study the reviews, determine you needs and decide. They have great tire and wheel packages for snows. Denny
  9. I have used my radar detector and my phone charger in both of the lighter outlets and they both work. Both go off with the key though.
  10. The one I just picked up is a cone shaped unit. They are very nicely designed. I noticed the biggest difference on my pick up. It has a rather small engine 2.4L, 16V, 2 cam engine. Gutless and with the A/C on, dangerous. The K&N made a big difference. I even pulled the 6% grade hill on I-280W toward the Oranges in NJ in 4th gear. Many times I have been in 3rd in the past. I know you have to clean them at 30K but it seems fairly simple. About gas milage, I will report back when I can get my foot off the gas long enough to try to conserve some fuel.

    2005 Mustang

Hey, if I can go buy a car for $22K that has a V-8, 5 speed, and some pipes, why not? I saw my first new Mustang in person yesterday. Bd to the bone. I had a 64.5 Mustang with a 289 a long time ago and it would absolutely smoke the tires for-ever. I had these big 50's on it too.

    Newbie..

If you can talk your parents into buying you a Lexus you are all set!
  13. and then Buffalo actually gets a touchdown....
  14. It was a tough loss. At this point slightly less than half of us know the extent of that loss.
  15. Hey thanks Silver At least I know it wasn't just me thinking that. Regarding the waterspots. I have found so many that you just can't remove. It is becasue it etchs the surface. Happens a lot in the NE because of acid rain. The problem I have found isn't with cars that were waxed when new and always kept waxed, but rather with those that were neglected until the second owner bought them. Kind of like bird s... droppings, once it is etched, it is not coming out. At taht point it means rubbing compound, buffing... then repainting.
  16. Yeah I do perfect work and I will not do quick jobs. It just blows my mind that people will pay me $400 to do their cars. I wish I had the time to make a lot of money. Hard to put a price on love.
  17. Sorry to disagree but I think problems with a 2001 LS430 is outside the normal. Maybe on a 95, but not on an '01 with such few miles. The issues are probably related
  18. yeah, I know. I already started looking at the intake systems.
  19. Okay, I have listened to you all talk about how great K&N air filters are. I needed to replace my air filter on my truck (Frontier) so I bought a K&N. Mannnnn.... so cool. I right away bought one for my Caprice. Even more fun except that due to me flooring it all the time my gas milage has dropped but at least my power is up. I just picked up a K&N for the LS400 and Corolla. Too much of a good thing is good.... right?
  20. DON'T pay for that. They don't have anything special. Read what SWO said and save your money. Find someone in your area that always has a spotless car and ask them to wax it. Read up on the forums and carefully select your wax. The other option is do it yourself, but I know time is at a premium.
  21. I guess it had to happen. I have always been a big car detailer. All of my cars are usually extremely clean and of course carrying several coats of wax. Many of my neighbors think I am deranged because I wash my cars at midnight sometimes. I installed giant floodlights over my driveway just for that purpose. First one, "can you wax my car?" okay $250 great when. Then the next Okay $300, when? Up to $400 and they still keep coming? It really eats into the time I need to do regular things (like food shopping, laundry, cleaning, and such). So where do you draw the line? I have turned away several people because I didn't like their cars. I am sorry but I am not going to wax and 95 Crown Vic, or a black 95 Volvo, neither of which have ben maintained to anything close to normal. I quioted the Volvo guy $500 and he squirmed. Too bad that we all don't live in the same city and could pool our resources and start a detailers dream shop.
  22. This may sound terrible, but I use the Maquire's because I like the smell. I usally add a little leather cleaning spray as well. I thought the Amourall leather wipes smelled like (edit),
  23. We have Sam's Club, BJ's, and Costco. I have been to all three but Costco is the closest and I have a membership there thru a civic organization. Why drive farther? They also have one close to us in NJ. and we can use ourt membership there. I love the MF towels. I plan to wax the Lexus, and the Corolla next week so I'm happy to have them. I loved the CWB comments, yeah y'all they are kick class when it comes to what we all like to do. I see people who wash their rigs and leave them wet. No come on, who would do that?
  24. Before you jump to conclusions, go over to Sears and buy a mechanics stethoscope (about $12). They are very sensitive and you should easily be able to pinpoint the noise. It could be something as sinple as a piece of cardboard or plastic stuck in the fan.
  25. Yeah it is fairly likely to be your tires. A lot of tires square up after relatively low miles. You might try switching the front to the back and see if that has any effect. My truck had a vibration, I did that and it is gone.
