See your point. Yes, in Virginia Beach, it is something that I can't imagine needing. I suppose having a heated steering wheel is another feature designed to compete in the luxury market. Now sometimes my feet get chilly, any chance of heated pedals in the future?

It may be called a magazine but in reality it is advertising

Another pointless option. The best new option I've sern is the side view cameras on the new Honda Civics when you apply the turn signal.

Haven't been able to pair my iPhone with my IS. Worked fine with my previous phone. Tried a few times and everything spins forever. I just use the speaker on the phone.

Your neighborhood sounds interesting. I've lived places where you don't even know your neighbors. In my neighborhood I know about every car as well as most plates. Tomorrow my wife gets in from Boston and neighbors having Super Bowl party with food beer and gambling. How much better can it be? Well I'll tell you. I have a big driveway so I let my neighbor park his 2015 IS350 F Sport on the other side next to my Chevy pickup.

Our neighborhood is unique in that a group of friends all bought on the same block. Around the area our corner is known as "cocktail corner" due to the parties. Not boring here and a bunch of nice cars. There is still a burnout mark on the street from someone who experienced intentional acceleration.

Heated steering wheel? seriously?

I guess I should also admit that in addition to the Kuerig thing, I have a stainless stell pot (they don't break) Mr. Coffee, coffee pot making machine. Wonderful for long term way to absorb coffee. Also have beans from Peru or something that I can grind. I don't often but it is good. Love coffee. Along that line, when I was in London on visit, I suffered because finding good coffee in London is difficult at best. Morning after flight I ask the guy for black coffee. He brings me this tiny cup of foamy looking stuff. I ask him "what is this (not exactly" to which he replies, coffee. I give him the good old American naw naw naw, I asked for black and this .. is foamy. Another guy comes out that speaks English (imagine that in London?) and asks the problem. I explain and he goes in the back and brings me a cup (still small) of normal coffee. The guy I could understand explained to me that you must ask for "drip" coffee. Of course the hotel didn't offer drip coffee and no Starbucks or 7-11's in sight so I did appreciate that the hotel dudes hooked me up with their "drip" coffee which they apparently keep in the back for themselves and sell the foamy dark little cups to tourists for a premium. I need to swing by the dealer to have the tire pressure raised. I'll go see if I can find anybody there that knows anything. Haven't yet but holding out hope/

ahhh, uh huh. Kind of suffering from a magazine overload but I hate to see them go out of business so I continue. How many people do you know that give money to wikipedia?

30 JAN 2015 VIRGINIA BEACH Hey folks, another cold day here in Virginia Beach, the blame being placed dead square on those Canadians. Hope it goes to about -40 where C&F converge for sending us this cold stuff. All that said and done I must say that I have developed a fine Toyota/Lexus following around the hood. Years ago (well maybe a decade or more) I was able to convince my neighbors to ditch their Oldsmobile and purchase a used (previously owned) 2001 Lexus RX300. Guessing it had about 75000 on it at the time. I went with my friend to scope the vehicle and it was obviously garaged. Sorry I can't remember exactly what new vehicle it was that he purchased but I do remember being disappointed it wasn't a Lexus. Maybe a Kia or something? ahh not good at remembering them. They still have it and it works. After that they bought 2 Avalons, 1 Camry, 1 Corolla, and .... Their son (about 25) who had one of the Avalons (still has it) went out and got a new IS350 AWD F-Sport in metallic sliver. His partner also ditched his 2013 big F-150 (decked out) for an identical car in "Blizzard Pearl White" (my favorite color) so now we have a collection. Sold my beloved 1990 LS400 32V 4 Cam V-8 (pearl white) to another neighbor. Still grieves me to see the car because to this day is still the nicest car I've ever owned. I doubt this will surprise anyone here, but losing a car is about the same to me as losing a pet. Oh, did I mention his girlfriend has a 2001 IS300? Oh yeah, and like some of us (not me of course) she is heavy on the throttle. Girls! enough for now. Denny

First I have heard of a Lexus magazine. Of course I did enjoy the Kuerig coffee. Kind of swamped with magazines at the time. Reviewing the list from thought I see - Popular Mechanics - Popular Science - National Geographic - Smithsonian - Hemming's Motor News (the thick one) - Hemming's Muscle Car Classics - Hemmings Classic Cars - Time - probably a few others I missed. To cut to the chase, IS this Lexus magazine worth bothering with?

Is 250 F-Sport Heated Seats
VBdenny replied to dsyoung's topic in Lexus IS 250 / IS Turbo / IS300 / IS350 / F Sport Club
Your heated seats probably are not working properly due to the car. These things are so much fun they do have you on the edge of your seat sometimes. First car I have ever used seat heaters in and they work. -
Recommendations On "all Weather" Floor Mats For Gx 460
VBdenny replied to So Cal Kirk's topic in 10 - Present Lexus GX460
Westher Tech. Hands down by far the best. I use them year round in all my vehicles. In the winter they keep out snow, the summer, sand. -
and I don't even own a watch. Ahhh
-
Well I suppose there are many things that could be stored there
-
They checked and seemed to think internal. I called my tech guy and he will check it out next week.

One of my neighbor's girls whom I look out for has a 2001 IS300. She recently had new tires installed and when the technicians attempted the alignment, they couldn't because they said there was a hub issue which I admittedly and unfamiliar with the setup. I would appreciate any insight as to what needs to be addressed before I dig into the car. Thanks Denny

My Maui Jim's also stay in the case in the left door pocket. Of course I really do prefer to have them on when driving but....

My guess (and this is just a guess) is that the plastic washer goes against the moving surface where the armrest attaches to the seat, Then the metal washer. The other metal washer would go between the hex nut and armrest. Of course the best way is to either ask whomever took it apart, OR look at the other side. Either way, how bad could it be with a new armrest. How much did it cost to have them recovered (about)?

I would have to think a seatbelt problem on a 2010 would have to be a warranty situation. Should not have broken (period).

The top wishbones have been an issue before. On the first LS cars these went bad after about 100,000 miles depending on use and terrain. For example, if your driveway is very steep, and you turn as you make the transition to the street, there is an additional strain put of certain parts and this is one of them. I would think that for those who live and drive on mostly smooth, flat roads, that the wishbones can last longer. Obviously those who "use" the suspension increase the wear. Guess that will have to worry me in the future. Those red bones look sweet. High tech looking. + You would have to have a major misalignment for the toe to cause that kind of wear on a tire. I can't see how the car could drive with the toe-out that far out. Would make me think a "curb" strike or something possibly by another driver of the car.

My impression of battery quality seems to be luck and cooler climates. I've had batteries last anywhere from months to years. JJ loved the gas station part. That was me. A petroleum byproduct dispensing engineer and grease monkey.

From the picture I'd say that is excessive tire wear. Never heard of these IS tire problems before but I'd suspect the promary cause of premature tire wear on the fronts is because of the stagger used. The rear tires are 255//35-18 while the fronts are 225/40-18 I'll count that as 30mm narrower than the rear. What would happen if the front and rear were matched?
