  1. I think Stephens situation is auto log in. Not sure I coul recall my password
  2. Becki. That was an amazing story. I love hearing thing like that as that is what makes it special for me
  3. The tech guy told me NOT to touch the micro SD chip as it holds the programs
  4. You are correct about meeting the nicest people. Over the years I've had a blast going to different car events, enjoyed talking to many different people and generally had massive amounts of fun. Winning an event must have been exciting.
  5. I did the neck crank thing for a long time. Then went to the Syracuse Nationals a few times. ROWS of thousands of vintage cars. Needed beer to ease the pain in my neck. Too much to absorb in one event so I went for 5 years. Now we have moved on to Saratoga Springs event which is smaller and put on by Hemmings.
  6. I have come very close to that issue myself. Probably a good idea for many of us to check our listed email. Problem above my pay grade however and admin can probably help. I've learned many things and certainly enjoy your contributions.
  7. Had a big ole Buick Electra 225, 1970. With a 455 V-8 4BBL, dual exhaust, Turbo 400 and 12 bolt posi, even at 5,000lbs. I could ignite the tires. When standing behind and between the pipes on a crisp morning just listening to the idle was music. Then you have some people who say "is that a motor running somewhere" with a annoyed look. That is when you blip it good.
  8. of course I usually send my wife by plane which eliminates twitching in the car. You know when I drive alone I prefer to be by myself.
  9. The Avalon Limited you had is a very smooth riding car. Ride is really mainly about wheelbase. My friend has a GMC Denali all big and loaded which to most people would ride like a dream. He thinks it rides "bouncy" but then again, for work he has a 4 door 3500 GMC pickup with 8 foot bed. The wheelbases is as long as Delaware so it rides ultra smooth. Sounds like maybe you are not SUV people. Neither am I. My wife has a RAV4 which rides like it was made to ride.Put me low to the ground.
  10. Nothing sounds better than a V-8 period.
  11. Perfect point. What vehicle you drove previously has much to do with this. If you come off an LS and go to an RX, you get bounce. High vehicle, short wheelbase. Many other factors like location, origin, leased? Carfax etc
  12. Okay with me, love sports in general but like anything, it is knowing the players that makes it special. Sports fans of any sport are always more fun than the drones.
  13. Should it has been the Memphis Beats or something?
  14. Agh. I can blame not knowing on skiing. Never watched basketball so I remain ignorant of team names. Go Grizzlies.
  15. I have a state inspection sticker and that's it. Not quite sure what a Grizzly is though.
  16. I have an ES330 and it is pretty fast. Probably beat my IS250 but not as enjoyably. All about fun for me and I like driving on the back roads in Carolina because of lots of curves.
  17. there that old convertible spirit. Loved driving my Miata around but my wife hated it so much, had to get rid of the thung. Worked out for me because I'm really not supposed to get too much sun, and I got the new IS250 out of the deal. Talk about things working out for the best?
  18. Switching to Manual. Great explanation.
  19. Guess I will have to put myself in the lucky bunch for now. My car has 6500 miles and no smell. I do think that is because it is kept inside and has hardly ever been wet. I really appreciate the (press recirculate button twice - to go from Recirculate to Auto to Fresh) because I never knew that. I do see it likes to stay on recirculate. If that is an effort to increase fuel economy, put the feature on the Prius instead. Some of us actually like burning fuel.
  20. Well yeah, sort of. I think he was happier than me though.
  21. Wasn't street racing, just legal acceleration. He noticed me, I saw the smirk.
  22. Just got back from some inducement. Guy pulled up next to me with a sweet GS400 then proceeded to smoke me. Ahh
  23. The hoses are really long so people can stretch them around to the wrong side. Consider that when you select premium and the car before bought regular, by the time the premium fuel purged all the regular, about a gallon.
  24. You will not hurt any modern engine designed to run on Premium fuel by running regular. The computer will make sure that doesn't happen. Of course this also means your engine is not running at optimal performance since adjustment are made to protect the engine from any pre-ignition. My feelings are IF you buy a Lexus, you can probably afford the Premium as well. I do know that the specs for my 2004 ES330 calls for 91 octane. Now here is something many of you Premium fuel users may not have considered. WHERE you buy your fuel. If you buy fuel from a station that uses one pump handle for all grades, the first gallon you put in is regular since that is about what the lines hold. If possible find a station that has individual pumps for each grade, OR wait until a Corvette or something fills up in front of you.
  25. This is a long lingering question as to change or not. I can't say one is better than the other because I used both methods in the past. On my LS400, I went to the Toyota dealership and bought a case of Toyota tranny oil. Seems it comes rather amber if I remember correctly, not red like Dextron. I drained (there is a drain plug on the transmission pan), measured, refilled, drove, drained, refilled, drove and such until the case was gone. Did it right in my driveway. Probably not the official method but I do know the car now has in excess of 200,000 miles and the transmission is still perfect. Oh yeah, did I mention how much fun it was?
