  1. ******SOLD****** I have a set of new Front and Rear OEM (Toyota) brake pads for sale that I bought for my 2003 LS430. They fit LS430 2001 - 2006. I bought them from Irontoad - then sold my LS before I installed them. They are OEM Toyota pads for front and rear, brand new in box. I paid $100 for the set - want to sell them - $85 - free shipping to lower 48. Part numbers are: 04466-50091 04465-50240
  2. Unfortunately not a warranty issue. Try the Michelin Lattitude - reviews have been better. We have them - cannot attest to their longevity (just bought the vehicle), but road noise is minimal.
  3. We have an 09 LX570 - expect mileage closer to what you are getting with your LX470. We can get 18 Hwy - but that is about it. And 13 in the city is about right.
  4. I have a standard 2 car garage and a Lennox gas heater - not sure of the size. I keep it set on 40 degrees and raise the temp to 50 / 55 when I am out there. It is a small unit than hangs about 1 inch below the ceiling off of rails as described by prior post. Works great, did not see a big jump in the gas bill.
  5. Had the same issue with our 03 - new serpentine belt solved the problem.
  6. Had the same issue with our 03 - new serpentine belt solved the problem.
  7. We had parking sensor issues on our 03 - repaired by dealer under CPO warranty - so not sure of cost. They replaced 3 or 4 of the front sensors. Front bumper cover has to come off and I thing the sensors are pricey.
  8. agree with prior post - 33K for a low miles 06 pristene CPO (with NAV and ML) is likely in the range. We bought an 03 a year ago and looked at an 06 with 18K - Dealer wanted 35. We ended up with an 03 CPO with 38K for 20. Sounds like a great car - congrats......
  9. Have had 3 of them and that is what I recall. I always shut the dash vents in the winter. But yes the AC comes on.
  10. I would keep looking - we ended up with a perfect 03 with 38K miles for 20K from dealer (certified car). That was March - guessing you can find a low miles 04 private party sale in the same range or less.
  11. The dealers know this should be done - they won't give you any Chit about it. My Dealer recommends at 30, 60, 90 intervals - if you are planning to keep the vehicle.........
  12. I have park assist on my LS 430. It is a nice option - really helps when I park in our garage. Can be expensive when it comes to repairs (as the bumper has to be removed to replace sensors). Certainly not an issue in warranty, but a potential concern down the line.
  13. Don't beat yourself up over the price - enjoy a great car. Agree trying to sell at this point would not be cost effective.
  14. Dealer replaced mine on our 03 when we bought it a couple of months ago. I did get them to note it on the sales order when we bought the car.
  15. We just bought an 03 a couple of months ago - ML, Parking sensors, NAV - 38K mileage. Agree with prior posts - and sounds like you went with the lower mileage model. Enjoy - ours is like having a brand new car.
  16. Ok - back from dealer - car was warmed up so no chirping. Told them to wait until engine cold and start it up. Mentioned fan noise, etc. Service rep quickly said it sounded like the belt - said they would check it out - but suspected they would need to "lube" the belt or at worst tighten the belt. He was very quick to believe it was the belt. Never heard of lubing the main belt.........
  17. I have an 03 LS430 that we just purchased - 38,000 miles. It is a certified car and I have an appointment to drop off the vehicle at the dealer later today. Here is the problem. When the vehicle is cold (1st start in the morning), I hear a clatter - almost sounds like a fan chirping. It does it at idle and upon acceleration. If standing in front of the car, it sounds like it is up front - noise comes right out of the grill. You can even hear it from in the car with the windows up as you drive it. When the car comes up to temperature, the noise stops. Once the car is up to operating temp, even if shut off and restarted - no noise. Acceleration or power in the car is not affected. The engine does not stumble and still runs perfectly. Any thoughts on what this may be?
  18. Accidents always bug me. 9K in damage is potentially minor, as parts would be very expensive. I worry more about the quality of the paintwork. Very few shops can lay down paint like they do at the factory. That said, if the repairs were done correctly with a solid paint job, probably not a lot to be concerned about. I honestly would either continue to work on the price (if I really loved the car), or keep looking. We just bought a CPO 2003 LS with nav, ML for about 20K - car is one owner, no accidents, dealer maintained, 38,000 miles.
  19. Ahh - found the name of the color of 2003 we purchased - platinum blue pearl.....
  20. The 03 LS430 is a great choice. The five speed automatic is just about bullet proof and was in its 6th model year by 2003. A fairly high number of 2004 LS430's with the 6-speed had transmission problems that sometimes required transmission replacement. I don't think the horsepower of the 04-06 LS430 is any greater. You might be able to add a backup camera and for sure you can add a Bluetooth kit that will at least respond to voice commands. Personally, I like the 01-03 LS430 styling more than the 04-06. Plus, with the 03 LS430 you are more likely to get 16" or 17" wheels and tires that provide a nicer ride than the 18" wheels and tires that came on the later LS430. It's a big change from an ES300, isn't it? Thanks - and good to hear. The 2003 was a last minute change. I went in to ink the deal on the Silver 06 and the 03 was sitting out front. The owners had just come in to pick up their new 460. When I first walked up, thought it was the silver 06 for a minute. Had NAV, 37K miles, bought new at the dealer, serviced at the dealer, dealer and owner stated zero problems. Drove it home to have the wife look at the color - kind of a silver gray / light blue / pearl color (not yet sure of the actual color). Interior is Gray. The car drove like a dream, wife liked the color, 15K less money - I can do this. In any event - you are right - a big change from the ES300. They are putting the car thru certification this week - pick up Friday. Can't wait.
  21. +1 on service. Dealing with Lexus service departments is one of the primary reasons I keep going back to Lexus. First - the cars are relatively bulletproof, so not much goes wrong outside of normal maintenance. Secondly - the service experience is just the best. While pricey - they have consistently exceeded my expectations. I too have had MB's - and the service experience (for me) was very different. Lexus knows how to treat customers.
  22. Cowboy - Good luck on your 05 - sounds like a great car. I started this thread looking at a certified 06 with 18K miles. Dealer wanted 35K. Ended up with a certified 03 with 37K for around 20K. Clearly not the deal of the century - but should be a great car. The 04 - 06 models have a few more horse's (which you can feel when you drive both) and a number of other goodies (back up camera, bluetooth, keyless start). The 03 drove like it was on rails, quiet as a mouse, and was in excellent condition. If I have as good of luck with it as my prior 3 ES 300's, I will be a happy camper. If you have not had a lexus - you pay - but they are great cars and dealer service is second to none. This is my first LS - pick it up Friday, looking forward to driving the LS
