  1. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone on the forum for their time and advice throughout the years... It was just one of those things...it was time... Here are the last pics of the ride... "See ya" for one last time...
  2. Hey, guys. My front suspension squeaks when I go over bumps in the road, speed bumps, etc. Definitely happens more when it is cold outside. It does not happen when I turn, accelerate or break. I also started noticing it after I dropped it with l-tuned springs and shocks/struts. Help!
  3. Anybody removed scratches from their lcd screens on either the radio or a/c units? I have Novus 1-2-3: has anyone tried that on their screens?
  4. Found this on ebay - has anyone bought and installed? If so, how did it fit and look? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...Y_BIN_Stores_IT
  5. I like how they hook up a camera in the cockpit - very cool! Thanks for the link, Craig!
  6. The L-tuned shocks/struts and spring combo is also an option. It lowers the car about an inch and provides a more responsive ride - not stiff at all. I'm running on 18's but they made not to rub for up to 20's is what they claim.
  7. Installed last night - couldn't be happier...I shouldn't have bought the plp in the first place..it doesn't even compare... Great sound...and you definitely feel the extra punch...especially during freeway driving when you open her up!! Couldn't be happier...I also has someone else install it...as I live in a condo complex...couldn't get electricity to the car for soldering... Tried the portable cold heat solderer from radio shack..it sux...don't even waste your time on trying it, honestly. Anyways, for anyone near the beach areas in LA...Playa West Auto....$117.00 installed. Worth it to me as I woulda had to buy the solderer, solder, extension chord(s), wire stripper, wrench set, etc. anyways to do it myself...again, I dont have a garage to work on my car or to store tools in etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question though - my SRT kit came with a "blue" cone filter - anyone else have one of these and know why they changed filters?
  8. Let us know about the noise level with the new intake, I've heard the growl with the SRT is a bit too loud for some and they regret the switch. I'm more interested in the noise level when your daily driving as opposed to when you step on it-I expect it to be louder when you give it the gas, but if you can't talk on your hands-free under normal drivinng conditions....that's a problem...D Will do bro...what a intersting evening...just before I got ready to start on my install...i noticed the battery powered gun i got from radio shak didn't have a tip?? So I get in my car...and it doesn't start!!? That *BLEEP*ed me off for two reasons...I wanted to get the optima battery before this one went dead...cant do that anymore..cuz I found no local shop carrying it...so went and got one from autozone... Then when i go to take the old lexus battery off...the + side is so corroded I cant get the connection off!!? I went to home depot three different times to find the monkey wrench to take the bolts off...what frikin size are they!!!!? Cuz 3/8 nor 7/16 didnt work...and home depot had nothing in between!!!! Then i decide to get these vice grip type plyers which have to work right?!?! Not a chance ...its like the battery and terminal are one frikin piece... I manage to get the part off that connects to the actual battery...i think u guys know what I'm talking about...so I go bak to autozone...and the guy sees it...and says...hey iz that a lexus battery...and i'm like yeah...he said a woman came in here the other day to buy the same exact peice that corroded just like mine.. Its a frkin OEM lexus part that only the dealer carries?!?! So basically...im screwed...bought the battery that i cant return...so gotta get it jumped...which i couldnt get goin either after i reconnected after disconnecting... So gotta get AAA to tow my !Removed! tomorrow to lexus for the part...and pay them god knows what to install the battery(which i didnt want in the first place)!!!!! So needless to say...my SRT intake will have to wait for another day =( Sorry for venting...but this just happened and I had to crack open a beer and tell someone my pain who could understand.... I guess the blessing in disguise is that I woulda blamed my car not starting on my install skills!!! SO thank got it didnt start before I actually installed it right??? What a weird coincidence...but a good one.. Good night!
  9. It's a bit different for a GS4...but I have those instructions, as well...check you email =)
  10. I didn't see it attached in any other post for this model and year. Just thought I'd share... I can't seem to add the pdf file as an attachment...what am I doing wrong? Anyways, if anyone needs a copy I can email it...
  11. Hey, guys. Just got my intake from SRT!! But No Instructions?!? Anybody have a soft copy you can send me? I would greatly appreciate it - I already emailed SR...but gettin it installed tomorrow at Carson...need those instructions... Thanks guys!
  12. I wrote a letter to SM Lexus complaining of lack of due deligence - their service manager called me yesterday - apologized for the incorrect information and did it for free last night! Couldn't be more stoked !
  13. Talked to South Bay Lexus (the 3rd dealership I contacted) and told him of the situation. I faxed over the Lexus TSIB and he talked it over with his people and gave me a call back an hour later and said: YES it CAN be done!! It just really disappoints me that the the other two dealerships didn't have a clue and gave me an emphatic "NO" - you know? Well, needless to say, South Bay, even though they are a bit of a drive for me, has now earned my business. Guy - I think your doc did it - can't thank you enough! A big hip-hip -horray for guy - he the man!! Thanks to all others that posted, as well. P.S. They are charging me $49 bux. I think it's well worth it - I can't stand that screeching sound when the wheel telescopes!!
  14. Guy - you are definitely the man when it comes to knowledge base. Thanks for the post - and the link! What do you suggest I do? I mean what would be the reasoning of both of the lexus dealerships foremen for giving me false information. I was even willing to pay the dealership the $42 charge that they quoted me. I don't get it?! Please advise - thanks!
  15. Looks like there is no C-Best setting in GS's after 1996...confirmed with two dealerships and their shop's foreman. The service advisors/manager didn't know jack so went in the back and asked them myself. So, post-98 - I think we're sol..anybody have instructions on how to unhook the motor? Thanks!
  16. Carson Toyota wants $212.00!!! Anyone have step by step pics? I searched but couldn't find anything...
  17. Anybody interested in installing an SRT Intake in my 1998 GS300? Let me know and we can set something up. I'm in the LAX Area, but am willing to meet up elsewhere. Let me know guys...
  18. I have the borla system on my gs3 - it does add bass, but it is definitely not raspy... You will not be gaining that much hp though...just maybe a few ponies...
  19. If you want your lexus brakes to feel more like a bmw - change out your break lines with stainless steel ones...I did - and the spongy feel is gone...not sure if they make them yet for the '06s though...
  20. Search and you will find =) http://www.net-comber.com/tirecalc.html Thank you for the quick response. I will probably go with the 235/45-17 because it is a more common size and my tire dealer will need to order the 225/50-17's. How much will this effect my speedometer and odometer? hi this will not affect speedometer reading at all and the best price is at either discount tire co.or tirerack.com depends where you live thanks
  21. Just rotated my tires - same problem - shakin at 55-65 mph all of a sudden. Took Ryan's advice - upped tire pressure all four tires to 40 - shaking is completely gone! Even drove it on the freeway for an hour while changin speeds....thanks Ryan - it worked for me!!
  22. I've done it - looks awesome. Cost me $20 at a local shop that even carried the heat resistent caliper paint. Otherwise you can do it urself - just make sure you use a plastic bag (or equivalent) to tape up the surrounding areas so the paint only gets on the calipers. I guess if you really want to do them right - take the calipers off and then paint them. Lextasy.com sells the caliper paint if you need it.
  23. Well, if ur in the LA area...check out Luxurymotorworks.com. Going there pretty soon to get mine hooked up. They program it so you can use your exhisting key fob. Pretty sweet deal.
