  1. While doing some research on leasing a new car, I found out that BMW has a lease deal called the multiple security deposit discount. They will discount the MF on your lease by .00007 for each refundable security deposit you put down at the beginning of the lease, up to 7. The amount of the SD is one month's lease payment rounded to the next $25. You can leave up to 7 deposits, discounting your lease MF by .00049 (1.2%). I decided not to go with BMW and leased a Lexus instead. I inquired about a similar program with Lexus and was told by my sales rep that it does indeed exist, except Lexus will take up to 9 security deposits. This lowers the MF by 9 x 0.00007=.00063 (1.51%). This IS applicable to special lease deals as well. I leased an IS250 yesterday for 3 yrs and was able to drop the MF from the promotional .00095 (2.28%) to .00032 (0.7%). If you figure out the return on investment it calculates to about 10% compounded annually. Since you're lucky to get 3% in a CD, this is a great deal if you have the cash to put down! I'm really surprised they don't advertise this more.
  2. I justed signed a lease yesterday for an IS250 AWD that's loaded with nav, luxury, premium and sirius and I got a few hundred above invoice. This is in NJ!
  3. I was able to sucessfully transfer my phonebook from my verizon treo 650 to my RX330 by creating a new phone book category on my treo and making sure that each entry only had one phone number attached to it. Additionally, I put the entire name in the "last name" category. This seemed to do the trick. I had to create separate phone book entries for everyone's cell, home and work. It took some trial and error, but seems to work. When I was done, I transferred the category to the car. Good luck. Did you transfer the phonebook to the car, and if so, what were the exact steps you took? ← No I can't do the transfer myself. I was at the dealer last week for a part and bumped into my sales person. He said he could put 5 people from my phonebook into the car for me if I brought in the list. It would help in my case. ← Today I returned to the dealership where they transferred 6 numbers from my Motorola E815, via their phone, into my RX phone book. I love how the bluetooth RX phone works now. It sure is slick ! I thought this was a very nice gesture on behalf of the dealership to do this FREE ! My car is a year old. (Metro Lexus, Cleveland) ←
  4. Can you explain how you paired up your Verizon Treo to the lexus BT. I've been trying since yesterday without any luck. I even went back to the dealer and they couldn't get it either. I pair with my motorola BT headset no problem. When I try to pair with the car, the phone seems to see the car and I enter the passkey, but the car never sees the phone. ← I found the solution on another forum. After you enter the passkey into the phone, the lexus will still say "waiting for connection", but it's really connected. It is recommended that at that point you use the phone to make an outgoing call. The lexus will pick up the call and broadcast through the stereo. From this point forward, the system should work automatically and the two devices should pair up every time you get into the car without you having to do anything. BTW..the signal strength meter still isn't active.
