  1. The miror will likley need to be replaced, untill then place the mirror switch in the center position, not in L or R and the mirrors will not go down in reverse. ← I had the problem with my Left Mirror, unfortunately the only thing they can do is to replace the WHOLE mirror, when the order it, make sure the take down the correct info from your vin because when I went in the had ordered the WRONG COLOR and I had to come back anohter time to have it replaced.
  2. This is always a funny, heated, emotional and/or personal discussion. Kind of like s*x and religion. There will always be someone who aquired something similar at or below what you paid. But, you don't always here what the guy who paid to much has to say. If you paid below the MSRP, you did not pay TOO much. If you got it near invoice, you got a better deal. But, location and availabilty always dictate that fluctuation. I did not get a great deal on my truck. But, than again, there were FEW of my option package available in Southern California at time I made my purchase. So I do not feel I paid too much, nor do I think others who paid less got a better deal. In my last visit to the dealer for routine service they had 1 GX in inventory. It is too popular at this time around here. If I was looking for an LX ... they had about 10 of those. :) To paraphrase the words of Robert W Wood Jr. and and SW03ES ... don't worry about the price stuff and forget about it, just enjoy it. B) ← I'm just curious to see what others have paid...It sounds like many of you did quite well at the dealer. I guess you win some and lose some. cheers ← As someone else said, there is no use crying over spilled milk. BUT... for the future, you should prepare yourself by READING EVERYTHING available about the TACTICS of New Car Dearlers. Then READ SOME MORE, get everything you can I usually start by going to the library (Pre computer days) and photocopying the pages I need from EDMUNDS NEW CAR GUIDE, those guys are right on the money when it comes to car pricing. TO make a long story short, NEVER PAY RETAIL, when the car dealer says thats as low as we can go and your not satisfied WALK OUT! PERSISTANCE PAYS OFF - I bought my $52k GX for $45,500 You just got to do your homework set a price your willing to pay and NOT BUDGE, you also have to be willing to go to several dealers to see who is willing to work with you or to see who would rather play games. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR NEXT PURCHASE! ← tshrtkng, May I ask which dealer you dealt with to get that price? Did you walk in or was it through e-mail through the internet manager? I received quotes from several dealerships in the NYC area and the lowest I was able to get was $47000 on a $52,788 MSRP GX. One other thing I was wondering, maybe someone can shed some light on, are there any drawbacks to purchasing the car but then having service done at a different dealership? ← I once had the owner of a dealership tell me he did not care where I bought my car but did want me to bring to him for service as he told me they make more money off servicing than they do on the initial sale. But you might find some differences like when my local BMW dealer had no M3's I bought one from a dealer who was about an hour away. The local dealer was glad to service it but I could not get certain benefits they offered like free loaner and free car wash. ← I bought the car from Smithtown Lexus in Long Island. I "worked on the dealer" thru email for about a month then went in 2x to close the deal.
  3. I have a 04 GX, does anyone know if the glove box CD CHANGER (with nav) play MP3 CD's, Im afraid to put one in because what goes in may never come out!
  4. I was looking for seat covers for my 2005 GX470 also, but quickly found out that you shouldn't cover the front seats due to the enclosed air bags in the seats themselves. That shot down the seat cover option for me anyway!!! ← BE CAREFUL with seat covers, they may interfere with the side airbags that are located inside the seat sides.

  6. could you please tell me where you got the PREOWNED hitch, I have been looking for one all over the web but could not find anything.
  7. I was wondering if you would tell me how much the hitch cost? Would you know the correct part number? Also, did you order the bumper cutout replacement? What was the cost ont that?
  8. I have a MINOR thump in my GX but my wife has a Toyota Sequoia which has a MAJOR THUMP, it is VERY ANNOYING! The design flaw is obviously in both Toyota and Lexus, Keep an eye out I'll bet that some creative law firm out there will be conjuring up a Class action suit! Maybe we should start one ourselves! I have not heard anything about the 4Runner having this issue. But, than again, it has only been a few who have had this issue occur on their GX vehicles. There have been discussions about what the problem may be. And some of the owners have said the problem was resolved after the dealer took it in. Perhaps, through a visit or two. I have not had this problem and I now have more than 12K on the truck. Some say that it occurs anytime they drive, and others say only periodically. A lot of it depends on what the owner is expecting, and their sensitivity between a luxury truck and a luxury sedan. I have noticed, on my truck, an occasionaly suspension adjustment after stopping at a light (usually after some hard manuever). This manifests itself as a thump that you feel inside the cabin. The closest I can determine this, is the KDSS suspension correcting the balance of the load through the hydraulic pistons which it incorporates. This does not always happen, and once I determine how to replicate it for the dealer, I will probably have them look into it. This is a curiousity, not necessarily something that drives me crazy. All in all, I still think it's a great truck, and far better quality of components than the 4runner ever will be. It still comes down to how much to you want all the refinements around you, and what are you willing to pay for it. After having Range Rovers for years, I still think highly of the GX, and look forward to having to take it in very little for service. I do miss the European version of a Luxury Vehicle, but I sleep better at night. :) ←
  9. I was wondering if anyone would know What Company makes the 6 CD Changer for the 2004 GX470? I would like to buy some "aftermarket" CD Changer Cartdriges Rather than the ones from lexus.
  10. Does anyone know WHERE the actual Speed Sensor Unit is? Could it just be UNPLUGGED so those of us afraid of wire cutting could do this too?
  11. I was wondering if anyone knows about other options for inputting mp3 or other audio. I saw the one for The Vais technology unit for the Apple Ipod someone listed at http://www.emba42.com/lexus/, but I want to us my IPAQ or other mp3 type device. I would like to have a unit that will accept a headphone type jack rather than a proprietory plug for a single unit. Any ideas???
  12. Does anyone know if there is a AFTERMARKET 6 CD HOLDER that fits in the existing Factory CD Changer Unit? I'm looking to buy several but dont want to pay "Lexus Prices"
  13. Can you tell me what brand hitch was used? A model number could also be helpful if possible?
