  1. I am replacing he Nakamichi Head unit and am going to sell it on Ebay. Wanted to throw it out to you all before I do that and see if anyone is interested. PM or email me. jeffjangell at gmail dot com. It is in great shape and functions perfectly...including the CD changer.
  2. I'd like to upgrade my current system to include Bluetooth and integration for my iPhone 5S. I've heard nightmares about the system (Nakamichi) and the ability to upgrade. (Existing Head Unit is fully functional) Can anyone make a recommendation on a head unit that I can use and NOT replace the Amp, speakers or the SUB. Not really a Audiophile and don't need NAV. Camera would be nice but not absolutely necessary. Does not have to have XM as I would stream that off of my phone. Any suggestions, tips or tricks would be great...Would like to install myself.
  3. i unfortunately did not notice that the person that replaced the windshield wiper blades on my 2000 LX470 did not just replace the insert but also repaced the insert Holder (Blade?) Can anyone reccomend a good place to get replacements for all three wiper blades? Lexus wants nearly $100 for just the driver and passenger parts.

  8. I am coming up on 90K miles and am looking to get the car serviced. I generally take it to the Toyota Dealership as the service is much more reasonably priced. Should I have any concerns around doing that with a significant service interval like this? Any idea what I am in for with regard to cost? Does this particular model have a timing belt that needs to be changed? Any Gotchas I should be aware of? Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

  10. I have a 2000 lx 470 that has right around 75,000 miles on it. I purchased this car used about 4 years ago and purchased a warranty for it when I bought. My warranty is about to expire. I called my local lexus dealership and asked them for a suggestion...They suggested a warranty from Vehicle one...Seems like it covers all of the Major parts (copy is attached) Its about $2500 and goes for 4/48K miles
  11. You bought it at this particular Lexus dealership? I would expect it from a non-Lexus dealer but that is just crap. Ethical would have been them doing to service before selling and tacked on 2k to the final sale price...which is what they seemed to have done anyway. Or they could have left if up to the buyer whether they want it done or not. You can get the 90k service done in a lot of other places for half that price. But at least inform you of what was going to be needed soon. But they worry too much about selling cars. That's why I guess it is good to do your own research for the car you want to see how much it will cost and when major service is needed. Not sure ethical or not...But I would be extremely dissapointed and certainly would put a call into Lexus USA...Just to alert them to this.
  12. I have a 200 LX 470 that I would like to put a new stereo into. I currently have the standard stereo system in the car. Would like CD, NAV and Sirius sattelite radio. Any Suggestions?
  13. The AC will help take the humidity out of the air... I usually set mine to Auto and it cycles the AC on and off as necessary.
  14. The lack of support cost Lexus a sale a couple of months ago... We ended up Buying a BMW X5 instead of an RX...The end decision was made based on the lack of support.
  15. Smokey Topaz Mica. I believe that one has the worst fading. My black '98 is not fading... just a bunch of scratches. Yes it is the Smokey...Worst paint experience with a car ever. Lexus was no help whatsoever. The excuse I gotfrom Lexus Corporate was: 1. Second ownr 2. Paint is out of warranty 3. Records indicated that I did not have my car serviced at a Lexus Delership I did everything that I was told to do and got nothing from Lexus If an attorney reads this and a Class Action Lawsuit is doable...COUNT ME IN

  18. I have a 2000 lx470 and need to replace the aftermarket Sirius receiver (Sporster) wiht a new one. Had the original sporster installed by a "Pro" but wnat to do this one myself... First problem is removing the "Wood" trim piece that has the vents, AC controls etc in it (als eed to replace a couple of the lights int eh ac controls that have burned out) Does thisrequire a special tool? I don't want to break a tab or screw off...Would appreciate any guidance.

  20. Is it kind of a "Shimmy" in the wheel? I have the same issue with a 00 470 with 65,000 miles on it Vibration felt more in the seat / floor not really in the steering wheel Ant reccomendations from anyone on the shimmy in the wheel?

  22. SO...My saga has ended...And Unfortunately it has ended poorly. I went tothe Dealer (Lexus of Seattle)...They took one lok at the car and said UGH...you have a problem. They gave me the Lexus number 800 25LEXUS so that I could start a case. I did this with the customer service rep (Very Pleasant) Received a call back from a specialist two days later who asked me some questions (His name was Jose Martinez). He told me he would investigate further...Well later that day he called me back and left a message...Tried to call him back but he was busy...He asked the Rep ont eh phone to let me know that they were not going to do anything about it. For what it is worth...During my initial conversation with him he did not give me the sense that Lexus would do anything about this... Factors that he said they would be taking into consideration were Lack of service at the dealership (I usually take to toyota dealer) I am the second owner ofthe car Must admit that I am pretty dissapointed in the decision...they did not even see the car to know wha tthey were dealing with. My issue is clearly a defect.
  23. Chiro. I have water under the rug where the 3rd row of seats would be(I took them out) Did u figure out what your problem source was ... Thanks, Chris I have the same bubbling issue on my 2000 LX470 Dealer told me that I could replace it at my cost
