  1. I have the same issue. Basically one or more gear teeth have broken inside. So I turned off the memory setting, so that it's not folding in and folding out on engine stop and start. I did open up the driver's side mirror, but couldn't find where I can get the replacement gear.
  2. 2006 is my first Lexus, and I did a 2 year ownership review and summarized 2 years of cost of ownership breakdown. Though it's my first Lexus, after 2 years, I'm totally convinced that there will be many more Lexus in my family in the future.
  3. Just fixed power rear shade not going up all the way.
  4. Just fixed 2006 GS300 Power Rear Shade not going up all the way.
  5. I'm trying to fix the power rear shade that only goes up partially, though it comes down fully. So far, I figured out how to remove the back seats completely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21oOGYp9wjI Still trying to figure out how to disassemble the rest in order to get to the rear shade. I would greatly appreciated it if someone with a Service Manual for 2006 GS300 to share some instructions and pictures/diagrams on this.
  6. I think it depends on where you live. Some auto parts store will not clear the code for you. You can get a cheap ODBII reader for $20 and you can check the code and erase them whenever you want. It'll come handy for many years.
  7. 2/3 of the time I use regular, but do periodically use premium. I also use Lucas fuel additive about once a quarter and do seafoam cleaning once a year. I have not notice any much power loss or engine knocking with regular.
  8. After market catalytic converters are hit or miss as to how long they will last but OEM cat is so expensive. I don't have a specific aftermarket to recommend to you but check the reviews carefully and don't go for the cheapest one.
